Unit 731 - Comments

  • Firstly, I think your summary is amazing. Really powerful stuff and it made me really intrigued to read the actual story. So great job on that.

Your verb choice is really amazing. It's rare that writing actually makes me feel things but I get that real impact from yours. It's impressive. Actually your language choice is a whole is amazing. And I feel like I should really gush over it like a good little English student but I'll stop now.

I love the concept. Considering this is WWII, the fact that you've chosen a much less well-known topic than Nazis is really neat to see. I studied Manchukuo a couple of years ago so this is definitely interesting. And that's aside from a doctor forced to torture. I haven't read anything quite like this.

Normally I'm really pedantic about a balance between dialogue and narration but the stream of consciousness of Dr. Nakamura is really enjoyable. Again, I think your choice of language has a huge part in that, so kudos to you!

I can't fault this. It's amazing and I'm interested to read more.
    Happy Mibbaween! :)

  • Wow... This is.. wow. Heartbreakingly beautiful. It was written where I could feel the pain of the doctor and everything happening to the patients. I have never read a story like this and applaud you on venturing out into greater depths of literature. Please continue this!

  • This isn't my usual kind of story, but I've also never seen a story like this on here. This is very, very interesting and I enjoy the idea and concept a lot. I pretty much agree with what everyone below me has said; powerful, haunting, and downright terrifying! You have a real knack for vivid descriptions and that's such a great quality for a writer to have. Kudos!

Keep up the good work! Cute

  • I'm personally not a fan of war like pieces of any writing but this definitely drew me in. Your ability to describe things is phenomenal. Everything, especially the prologue where he described how he felt about what he did and the way the victims looked was haunting. I could really feel just remorse and see the victims in mind clearly and I'm just lucky I don't have a weak mind when it comes to gore-ish things.

Apart from that, the other two chapters were just as great. We got a look at Seiko's life and the home he came from and why he signed up. I think tis is wonderfully written so far. Keep up the excellent work!

  • So I'm here to deliver a crunch bar and I got way more than what I expected. This is a really amazing story and I find myself absolutely drawn into it. The horror and the terror is really obvious in your writing and I like that you make it believable, and I feel like this is a true story, almost. Love it so much, keep up the good work. It's fantastic.

  • I'm sorry i keep commenting. XD I don't mean to spam up your comments here, I really enjoy this story. And I forgot comment Swaps rule of 200+ words, so I have to write a much longer comment, now that I remember :P This is written very well and I see absolutely no grammatical errors (I look for them when I read, not to be a stuck up brat but because I like giving well rounded critiques and helping people out). I'm really not to great at grammar myself so don't get me wrong XD I just share what I know ^_^ Really this story is awesome, have you considered publishing this? Its going very well and I feel like maybe you should finish this whole thing up and get a publisher to send it out! :D

  • This is already putting me on edge, and nothing gory or violent has happened yet. I think this is going to be disturbingly good. Keep it going!

Also, I didn't find any grammatical errors. I wasn't particularly looking for them, but I'm an English major and nothing jumped out at me, so kudos :)

Wow, this is an amazing story. I usually don't read this kind of stuff, but very very interesting. I only was able to read a couple of the chapters, but I did definitely enjoy it. The writing is well thought out and I can definitely see how much work and passion you're putting into this. Keep up the good work!

Wow! Just absolutely wow, I'm so glad I got this. It's absolutely brilliant and by far one of the best war stories I've read on this site. I love the point of view, it works great as you can see in to his mind more. Definitely going to subscribe and recommend! I can't wait to read how things turn out. If this came out as a published book I would buy it! :)

Why, hello. c: So this isn't my usual kind of story, but these stories are seldom seen on here, so that's probably why. It's interesting, but I really do enjoy the concept and the idea, and like someone below me mentioned, it IS pretty darn powerful. I hope you keep up the good work, lovey. c:

I'm not gonna lie, the description creeped me out a bit, and so did the whole chapter really, but the whole WWII theme, and the idea I find interesting, and you're actually a pretty awesome writer, it's just a bit too much for me .. Great chapter though :)

Okay so at first I was like "oh god, this is probably gonna be very gory" But yeah, I only read the first chapter because your detailing was a little too much for me but it was very powerful

    One word: Wow. Just wow.

That was a terrible read, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. It was supposed to be completely horrifying, and you succeed to paint the terrors of the occupation with a perfect vividness. Shudder. Your writing is amazing and evocative. I had goosebumps after the second paragraph.

Besides the flawless writing, I loved that you focused on part of the war that most people don't know about. People get so caught up in the A-bomb and the holocaust that it seems like half the war never took place. Like the Japanese were sitting around twiddling their thumbs until they decided to go bomb Pearl Harbor.

    anyway, amazing read.
