Even though I feel like this was a serious chapter, I couldn't help but laught out loud when the squirting boob, boob milk, and pee in the mouth happened. I always look forward to this updates, they may take awhile but they are oh so worth it.
Pretty sure Sidney isn't cheating on her. First of all, I just can't see him do that and second - Sid's parents were there... I don't think they would do something like that to the mother of their grandson .... But I am curious as to who that woman is :) A very good chapter even though it made me really sad. I hope Simon will be alright (I think Sid won't be too happy when he finds out that Bea didn't call him and why).
@ bxgurl95 Thank you so much!! I'm glad you can see the scenes in the context of their whole relationship to date. I know it can be hard to see it all in the big picture when it's written as a serialized piece. I think it's so easy to point to either of them and say "You're in the wrong" or "You deserve better" but in reality relationships are far too complicated to be presented as right or wrong and their personalities play a significant role in the kind of conflicts they encounter.
I think one of my favourite things about Beatrice (am I allowed to say that? Given that she originated in my mind?) is that she doesn't back down easy. Sometimes that's a good thing, and sometimes it makes life harder for her than it needs to be, but she holds on to what she feels and stands for no matter the outcome. The melding of their lives has always been their major conflict and I think it would be unreasonable to expect that it would all just be fixed because they said some vows and had a baby. It would be lovely to see them run off into the sunset already, but the truth is that the deeper into the first few years they get, the more significant this conflict will be. Because as much as we want to idealize the relationship between professional athletes and their spouses and imagine that it must be wonderful and well adjusted, it's impossible. I can't imagine anyone, especially someone like Bea, being completely content with having his or her spouse be away for long stretches of time. And given the way Bea and Sid started (with her travelling with the team) It's really no surprise that she's struggling to get used to it all.
