I thought Zacky would have been a bit more pissed at her for not telling anyone where she was going but I'm glad he wasn't, she doesn't need everyone being pissed off at her. There will be a time for her to explain why she left without telling them, I hope they won't all be mad at her. I can understand why they would be though, their best friend just upping and leaving without a word, I'd be hurt too.

She needs to stop running from them now and face the music. Hopefully spending some time with Zacky will build up her courage to see the others.

Yeah I thought the exact same thing as well, that it was extremely similar to Memories Remain, but I'm glad it was just a coincidence :)

As first chapters go, this is a good one! You've given us a little about why she left, without giving too much away, which makes me want to read more. I like how you write, descriptive and detailed yet, not too much :)

I really want to know what Brian did to make her leave her best friends behind, it must have been something big for her to just up and leave like that.

I like the way you write; it's descriptive and smooth without being over the top. You convey the characters feelings and thoughts well, even from a third person point of view, which I'm jealous of since I seriously suck at third person. Haha.

I like how you've thrown your main character right in the thick of it straight off the bat, too. I'm surprised she was able to stand there so calmly when a bunch of people--significant people--from her past where just meters away and not totally freak out that they'd recognise her from afar. Makes me wonder if she's changed a lot, appearance wise, or if it's just that it's been so long since they've seen her that she assumed they wouldn't instantly make the connection. Of course she didn't account for a close up encounter, either.

I'm interested to learn why it is she left, exactly. I mean, I get that clearly Brian broke her heart, but to what degree and what went down...? I'm assuming it must have been pretty severe to have sent her literally packing... so I can't wait to find out the full story!
