I think Gavin is finally accepting that he will have a stable family now with Brian and Kara but he is afraid that when the baby comes that he won't get the attention that he needs because still needs the attention he didn't get when he was living with his mom. I think Amanda is a prostitute and earn money so that she can pay for drugs and after this incident she might have screwed up any chance she had with staying in Gavin's life. I can't wait for the next update this has easily became one of my favorite stories :)

Thank you guys so much for all of the wonderful comments! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to get back to each one of you individually! I'm in my final semester of nursing school and life is crazy busy right now but I wanted to thank you all and get another update posted (hopefully I can get another chapter up by the end of the week). I'm glad you like the way that their family is starting to come together, I know there are a lot of fictions out there that feature a character from a broken home, but I'm trying to write it with a little bit of a different perspective.

I'm happy that you enjoyed the scene with Papa Gates! He's one of my favorites to write into the story along with Ray (who will make an appearance in the next chapter)! I couldn't help myself, I had to throw in that bit with Brian loving on the baby belly too lol.

OMG, this story has really progressed! I spent the whole entire day trying to catch up from chapter two, haha. This is absolutely fantastic, and I am so happy for Kara and Brian, and especially Gavin. Being from a broken home, is something I can definitely relate to, so I am so thrilled that you have showed the family growing together. Can't wait for you update!

*wipes a tear* Brian talking to the baby bump, and being all sweet, is totally playing with my emotions. Damn that man for being so irresistbly perfect

And I actually "awwed" out loud when Gavin called him dad asjfskdfsdkfhd *squee* so cute! I think he took the news about the baby well, he didn't scream the place down so that's good. Haha. I think the more he warms up to Brian and Kara, the more comfortable and happy he'll be about the baby. Damn his mother, though. I hope she doesn't pull that shit again!

I'm glad that Brian made up with his dad, I still love Papa Gates, haha. You write him so well! I like how Brian slipped in that they were expecting too, hahaha. I love Brian's relationship with his father, I'd like to think that's how they are in real life! :D

I am absolutely loving this story! It's so real; no crazy ex-girlfriends trying to kill Kara, no kidnappings, no cheating. This is what real life is like, especially at their age and this point in their lives. The grammar is spot on, sentence structure is great. You really weave a tale. Brava! You must continue

Ugh I know its only been a day but hurry and update I have gotten so much more interested in the story now that Gavin has showed up :))))

I think Gavin is going to be excited to have a sibling! He seems to finally be warming up to Brian and Kara!! I think amada however will fuck with his head even more than she already has! Oh papa gates kills me!!! I can't wait to find out the sex of the baby!!

Another great chapter!!! So glad Brian and his dad made up and he told them about the pregnancy. I'm so happy Gavin finally called Brian dad. It's good that Gavin seemed to take the pregnancy news pretty well but I'm still not sure if he is really going to be happy about it for too long - might be a little drama there but then again I wouldn't know!! LOL - I do agree with Brian about letting Amanda see Gavin but if she messes up then that's it for her. I'm hoping Brian and Kara get custody of him for good. It was great reading the part about Kara helping him with his homework. He is starting to warm up to her too which is great - she is such a wonderful person and very motherly to him. Can't wait for more!!!

I think there's a kinky side to Kara too that may come out farther down the line. Only time will tell!

Amanda is a total bitch! I think she's going to cause more problems for them all in the future. It was really shitty for her to tell Gavin so many lies about Brian too.

I completely agree! I think Gavin's disrespect is stemmed from not knowing if he can trust them and also not even being respected by his own mother. Hopefully the structure that Brian and Kara are trying to provide will help him figure it all out. We'll find out more about his reaction to the pregnancy in the chapter I'm about to post! I agree! Poor Gavin has had a horrible role model up to this point. I think he will start to warm up to Kara too after a while. Awww, they made progress! :D Gavin is slowly starting to warm up to Brian :) I think Brian was right in setting boundaries from the start, Gavin needs it. I hope he won't feel pushed out when they tell him about the baby, though.
