Celeste Donahue is someone everyone saw as a perfect role model; she was beautiful, intelligent, well-liked by her peers. And she was a talented dancer.
She was bright, laughing, cheerful and answered to all expectations people held for her by giving them an exceeding result...

... This is the Celeste she hated.

She is burdened by a dark secret, something she has to keep from the eyes of all that surround her.
No one knows that she cries herself to sleep at night, that she always wears long sleeves and long pants to cover the bruises...
... and that she could see the dead.

All she cared for was how to keep her secret safe from her friends, how to keep her mother in a good mood, and how to keep her sister Liana happy and healthy...

But all of the sudden, all the carefully-tied knots that held everything together and hidden are cut loose... when she finds herself dead, and at the mercy of the thing that killed her to devour her soul.

If she wants to keep her promise to her sister, she needs to learn how to find trust in things she never believed would exist in this world.
But who can she trust?
