Fall For You

Chapter 3

They started the short walk back to Lilly’s apartment. Zacky couldn’t help but notice that if he wasn’t there she was going to have to carry most of the bags herself. For such a small girl that was going to be hard. He couldn’t help but think how good it felt doing something like this for her. Zacky didn’t mind that she didn’t talk it was what you would call a comfortable silence.

They reached her apartment in a matter of minutes and Lilly didn’t know what to say. Lilly thought he was just going to hand over the groceries and leave her there at the front of the apartment block, but it surprised her when he walked over to the elevator. Lilly didn’t like taking the elevator but she didn’t tell him that, she wasn’t going to make him climb the stairs with so many groceries.

They walked into the elevator in silence and Lilly pushed the button. Zacky took notice in which floor she was on. Floor thirteen, good number he though. No one rode the elevator while they were in it, that made Zacky happy. Every time Lilly would catch him looking at her she gave a little smile.

No guy had ever show attention to her except her brother’s friend. She tried staying clear of him, mostly when he was drunk. She never liked her brother’s friends and was glad when she moved out of home. There was only one friend she liked his name was Jonathan but everyone called him Johnny. They were best friends in middle school and the start of high school but then he moved away. Johnny had vowed that they would stay friends forever but then left Lilly. She hadn’t see him in a while so she didn’t know exactly what he looked like or what he was doing with himself but nor did she care. He left her.

The elevator made its little noise to tell them that they had reached there stop. Zacky let her off first and left her with a little blush. Zacky like the way she blushed it made her look even cuter then she already was.

Lilly opened her apartment door and didn’t know what to do, whether to ask him in, pay him back or say thanks and stand there awkwardly. She scratched her head and blushed even more then she already was.

“Did you want to come in?” She asked bitting her lip.

“I would” Zacky said and he really would go in but he did have to meet his friends soon. “But I have to go meet my friends.” Zacky gave a little smile. Lilly nodded understanding she went to grab her things but Zacky took a step back. Lilly looked up confused. Zacky smiled.

“Home delivery means actually taking them in the home.” He gave her a cheeky smile, which only made her blush again.

“Um, okay you can put them in the kitchen.” Lilly said moving out the way for him to walk into the apartment.

Zacky walked into the apartment and looked around it looked like such a home. It reminded him of her, it smelt of her so much, it was small yet it didn’t look small. Zacky guessed that she decorated it to make it look bigger then it was. He stood in the living room looking around, he wanted to look at all the photos of her and all of her books and movies, he wanted to see what she was like. Lilly coughed softly. Zacky turned around giving her a sheepish look, she gave him have a smile and pointed to the left. Zacky nodded and went though the door to the kitchen. Again the kitchen was small, but she made it look bigger. Zacky had no idea how she did that but he like it.

He put the groceries on the bench and turned around to her with money in her hand. She was going to pay him, this slightly made Zacky angry he didn’t want her to pay him. He did it for her, for a good reason. He didn’t want her money but in a way it made him slightly amused as well. He shook his head.

“Hey, its home delivery, I have to pay you.” She gave him a little smirk. Zacky laughed, he was the one who said it was a services. She gave him fifty bucks and went to the groceries and started putting them away. Zacky started spluttering fifty bucks for walking home with her groceries, “well that was easy money” But he didn’t want her money, he did it for her and he wasn’t even sure why.

“Something wrong?” She turned around wide eyes.

“Fifty bucks?” he looked at her.

“Oh sorry, I thought that was enough. I can give you more.” she said walking back over to her bag. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. If he didn’t like her- wait what Zacky stoped himself, he didn’t like her he barely knew her. But when he started thinking about liking her, he didn’t mind the thought. He still couldn’t believe that she was going to give him more money. She opened her wallet about to give him more when he stoped her.

“Lilly” he said saying her name, she liked the way he said her name. It rolled off his mouth like it was something he should be saying more. “I don’t’ want your money.” She was taken back, she thought what was plain rude but he said something else. “I just wanted to help you.” He said smiling. She smiled too but then thought about him paying for her stuff.

“But you paid for my groceries.” She said bitting her lip.

“Well I fell on you.” He said smiling, he didn’t mind if he fell on her again, he liked being on top of her. Zacky! Get a grip of yourself! She blushed for like the thousandth time.

“Here.” He tried giving her the money back. She shook her head and turned around and went back to the groceries. He sighed and took out his phone, he looked at the time. It was five to five. He needed to leave Lilly’s house although he didn’t want to. He left the money on the bench.

“Um Lilly I have to go now.” He said with a little smile. She looked up from the fridge with an innocent look on her face.

“Huh?” was all she said. He laughed; she was in her own world humming some song.

“I have to go meet my friends.” He started walking back out the kitchen with Lilly hot on his heels. He was at the door when she stoped him.

“Wait.” He turned around and she walked into him. Her head only coming up to his chest. She took a step backwards and shook her head.

“Sorry.” She said, again why she said it Zacky didn’t know. She had nothing to be sorry about. She took a deep breath and gave him a hug. Zacky couldn’t work out why she was giving him a hug, but that same spark that went off at the supermarket went off again now. Zacky liked the feeling of her being close the feeling of him touching her. It was as if his life was complete. But all too soon it was over she gave him a smile and said a shy thanks. He walked out of the apartment with his beer in his hands feeling like he was on top of the world. Only what Zacky didn’t notice was that the fifty bucks was now in the back pocket of his jeans.
