I Was Always a Biter

29. Automatic Eyes

----------
“Christ!" Gabe shouted as he slammed his fist on the wall, "Novarro, I told you to keep an eye on them!"

Nate cowered under Gabe as he hollered at him. The fear in his eyes was quite appealing, Gabe couldn't help but to smile, "Gabe, I-I was, but I got hungry."

His voice got rough, he wasn't entirely in the mood, but then again he never was. "Nate, are you allowed to go feed without my permission?"

"No but-"

"But nothing. They're going to find Dallon and once they do that our clan is going to be no more. Do you want that to happen? Would you like us to lose Jess?" Gabe was losing his patience, something in him had changed. You could see it in his eyes; the fire, the rage. He cursed under his breath as Nate cowered once more and fled out of the room. Nate was one never to depend on, Gabe had learned that the hard way, "Victoria, come. We're going to find Dallon."

Victoria spoke smoothly as she walked over to Gabe with a calm pace, "Would you like Suarez to come?"

Gabe hissed as he looked in Victoria's direction, "No. He will hold up the clan while we're gone. Let's go. Now."

Gabe grabbed a strong hold of Victoria's forearm and dematerialized. They were gone within seconds, but soon reappeared in front of the Dandie mansion. Victoria's eyes lingered up and down the Dandie's stronghold, "Why are we here?"

Gabe smirked, "To see if they left of course. We need to be a head of the game, Victoria. You know that." His hand grazed her cheek as he smiled from ear to ear, then he soon turned away from her, taking off his jacket and letting it fall to the ground, "I'll leave this here, just so they know we've stopped by." Gabe smelt the air for the scent of Brendon and Jess, which he could not catch, "They've left, Victoria."

Victoria, stood on her toes and looked around the area, she was a excellent tracker, "They've gone west, Gabe. We'll get a lead from there."

Gabe nodded; his blood-shot eyes could almost pierce right through her, "Lead the way."

------------------------------------

William watched as Gabe and Victoria left the area. He was very displeased, he had not had a good fight in a while, but he knew it was unneeded. William turned to see an eager Sisky standing behind him,"What do we do, boss? Should we go after them?"

William held his hand in the air and shook his head, "No. Let them go. I don't know why they came here in the first place." William looked over at Sisky with a blank expression, "Go check on Ashley- Never mind, I'll go."

Beckett went up the stairs with a quick pace to the third door on the left. He stopped abruptly before knocking on the door, placing his hand on the door frame as he sighed. His feelings for this human were uncontrollable and growing very swiftly. Beckett wasn't like this, he never was. He was sure he loved her, but how and why?

He soon opened the door to the girl with long brown hair and chocolate brown eyes, he couldn't help but smile. He sat at the edge of the bed and rested his hand on her leg, "Did you get enough sleep?" she nodded, but her eyelids were still darkened. Ashley was worn out with stress.

Ashley looked away, studying the bed frame, "Did you kiss me? I mean, my forehead...when I feel asleep?"

"I did."

"Why?"

William couldn't help but sigh. Wasn't it obvious? He shook his head and looked into her eyes, studying her expression, "You should know why."

Ashley looked away, her heart rate increasing, "Oh."

William stood up with a swift movement, brushing back the bed sheets. He went towards the door and paused when his hand touched the door knob, "I'll be up in a hour or two to check on you. Sisky will be up with food and water for you as well."

Ashley sat there quietly, watching as William had left the room. She was left once again alone. She didn't mind it only because she wasn't being interrogated or pressured to do anything as she thought she was going to be.

She thought she would leave the room to explore her surroundings. As soon as she touched the door frame Sisky appeared, "You aren't thinking of leaving are you? William wouldn't be happy."

Ashley shook her head, "No. I just wanted to look around. I think I have a right. I've been stuck in this room for too damn long."

Sisky couldn't help but to laugh, "Keeping you in here really does make you aggravated doesn't it? Beats me why Beckett's in love with you."

"What?"

"You haven't noticed? He and Saporta are in a constant battle because of you."

Ashley shook her head, "No. why me?"

"Like I said, beats m-"

"You've said too much, Sisky. Learn to keep your mouth shut.", Mike called out from his left side as he slapped Sisky in the back of the head, "Will you ever learn?"

Sisky hissed when Mike's hand collided with his head, "Don't touch me."

Ashley groaned as the men continued to bicker, "Look, can I just be out of the room for a little bit?" she asked, inhaling softly, "I need to be in different surroundings. I don't want to be in here alone."

"I'll have to ask Beckett." Sisky told her as he turned on his toes to leave the room. Ashley waited until she lost sight of Sisky to walk out of the room. She went down the stairs only to notice a few girls screaming while getting dragged into the house. She watched closely as two of the men, Mike and Sisky, used needles to sedate the girls. She was frightened, Ashley thought they were more different then this, more so caring.

Ashley soon turned to see a familiar, tall figure in front of her, "You shouldn't be down here."
