But Katie didn't know any of that, she didn't even know his name. Damon thought he loved Elana Gilbert, then he met Katie. He'd die for her, and he wasn't ready to face that one thing called love.
Katie moved to Mystic Falls because her aunt was going to take care of her. Her mom was in rehab and her father was no where to be seen. She goes to school with Elana and they are close friends, thats how Damon crosses paths with her....
