Kellin and Vic were best friends as kids, until Vic joined the soccer team in eighth grade. Unintentionally, he leaves Kellin behind and becomes one of the most popular kids in school. When they start high school, Kellin develops depression, pulling the two further apart
At the start of their senior year, Kellin decides to end his spiral of sadness and attempts suicide for the first time. He becomes the talk of the school as the kid who tried to die, regaining the attention of popular boy Vic. The only problem is that Kellin is sad and alone, wanting nothing more in life than to not exist, and Vic is determined to be his friend again.
