Touring New Mibba

Finally. We were all waiting anxiously for New Mibba to dramatically refresh our writing lives, and it's here! After a short break, I came back to Mibba with hopes that it was a changed website. I was right--and I soon realized that looking through all the features and touring it was the best part!

Comment Swap

I distinctly remember the times when the users on our journals would ask for comment swaps, sometimes succeeding and, well...sometimes having to do it again. But now, with the new feature of the Comment Swap, we can do it in an instant! We never have to wait for replies. In fact, I think there was a few articles written about it here and there ...

Features for My Mibba

Before New Mibba came around, I used to find it slightly difficult to navigate through the My Mibba part of my account, and some others have said the same. But new features have made it all the opposite! Alerts are totally new, and they're so helpful because we don't have to go back and check to see if we got a comment, a reply, etc.

To add to it, we have two profile layouts--a custom and a default. We can see all the updates, too! Just in case a story you like has been updated, or one of your friends has recommended an article, this lovely feature can give us more insight into some pieces of work that we never knew about.

Books, Medals and Recs

Points, points, points--we start out with 100, and work our way up by different ways of gaining them! Of course, we can all still get 100 points for an article, tutorial, review, or magazine piece that we write--but now, there are books! The "Books" feature allows us to not only look for them, but share them--and for points, too.

That topic leads us to medals. Medals are a new way of displaying points! The bronze medals are for every 100 points you have--so, everyone should at least have one bronze medal. A silver medal calls for every 500 points, and a gold medal is for 1000!

The new "Recs" option allows us to recommend stories, articles, poems, users, topics, and books that our friends will see on their updates. It's a great way to expand information for your friends to see.

Layouts

Our stories aren't the only ones that have layouts anymore. Now, blogs and poems can have them! The concept is the same, and now you can personalize your masterpieces by adding layouts. The story layout maker was improved to be even more easily used by adding explanatory tutorials in the forums for helpful tips.

New Mibba

Although my "tour" is over, the admins are constantly trying to improve the site with things that are up and coming. Comment swapping will soon be added to poems, too!
