Got a Dry and Itchy Scalp?
Many times people tend to have problems with having dry and itchy scalp, including myself. Here's an easy home-made remedy to help ease the itch of dry scalp and to help it restore it's moisture.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup of white/apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp of salt
Directions
- Combine all the ingredients into a condiment bottle or any bottle that has a small nozzle.
- On the stove, heat a small pot of water until it gets close to simmering. Do NOT boil the water. Once the water is heated, remove pot from heat and place the bottle containing the ingredients in the water until the mixture is warm.
- In a sink or shower, squeeze the mixture directly on to scalp, covering whole scalp.
- Once entire scalp is covered, massage scalp with the balls of fingers for about 1-2 minutes.
- Cover hair with a cap and either sit under a heat cap on high for fifteen minutes, or let it sit in hair without heat for thirty minutes. Lightly rinse hair afterwards.
- Once hair is lightly rinsed, sit under the heat cap again for about fifteen minutes.
- After hair has set, let it dry or rinse again to rid of smell.
Tips
- If you don't have a condiment bottle, use a water bottle with a small hole punctured in the top.
- For those who don't mind putting oil in hair, for the best results coat scalp with either caster oil or shea butter to lock in moisture.
- Leave vinegar mix in hair as long as possible, even if the smell isn't pleasant.
