Easy-Peasy Baked Macaroni and Cheese
As a macaroni and cheese lover, I'm always looking for an easy way to make macaroni and cheese without the effort required of making it from scratch. Although boxed macaroni and cheese is certainly an option, the lack of cheesiness can often leave me a bit unsatisfied and that's why I've fiddled around with this recipe. If you follow these instructions, you can easily create mac and cheese with the ease of prepared kits and that great homemade taste.
Ingredients
- 2 boxes of macaroni and cheese
- 16 oz of shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese
- bread crumbs, for topping
- grated Parmesan cheese, for topping
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F
- Cook macaroni and cheese as per the instructions on the box.
- While hot, add and mix 8 oz of shredded cheese to the macaroni and cheese.
- Pour the macaroni and cheese into a baking dish.
- Evenly top with the remaining shredded cheese.
- Sprinkle a handful of Parmesan cheese and a handful of bread crumbs over the top.
- Bake, uncovered, in the oven at 350 F for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Tips:
- If you want your dish to be cheesier, add more shredded cheese to mac and cheese mixture or on the top layer.
- For cute presentation, bake your dish in individual ceramic bowls.
- Don't be afraid to try different cheeses (a blend of Italian or spicy cheeses can also be delicious).
