    I was going to post this as my family comfort food article but you already did, Haha.
    My dad used to make this all the time and I made it last week for my boyfriend. Alas I shall pick another.
    Ours is much more simplistic; beef, tomatoes, and pasta with grated Parmesan cheese for the top.

    Funny thing is, the original Goulash (funny to spell it this way.... Anyway) was with beef but served with mashed potatoes, bread, noodles or macaroni. Over the years it changed to any kind of meat instead of beef. - So @shell_drums is partly right and partly wrong.
    Another funny thing is, this is actually a very famous dish in Czech Republic. Idk why.
    Anyway, love this dish made with beef and then served with massed potatoes, though I think that it's quite alright with chicken as well... I need to try that. But yeah, try to serve it with mashed potatoes - A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
    Or if you don't want it served with anything then you should try to make Goulash soup - Best thing ever... It's the same but with bell pepper, beef, carrots and other stuff.. And to make it extra fantastic, you put a spoonful of sour creme in it when it's done cooking (when it's on your plate, not before that)..
    Sorry for the rant, just thought that I'd comment on one of my favorite dishes haha.

    @Nicki Minaj;
    She probably could have chosen a better set of words, but I don't think she was trying to be rude. I'm actually quite glad she explained what traditional goulash is because I doubt I would've known otherwise.

    That being said, I think this recipe sounds quite delicious no matter what you call it. I too have only ever used ground beef so this sounds like a good variation.

    no no no no no! this is not Hungarian goulash. it probably isn't even appropriate to call such dish a "goulash". You don't put noodles into goulash, you have to make it with fresh vegetables and beef. if you want a good recipe, I can send you one. I'm from southern Slovakia and therefore Hungary is our close neighbour so I know my way around traditional dishes.
