I've said that so many times it's almost ridiculous.
    =]

But so many people that are "unique" are really just the same...

great article! i completely agree. though the thing, even if they are mainstream subject, can still be unique... music is my life because i'm a girl who plays baritone and trombone and mood changes with what i listen to, yeah there's probably someone out there who is the same or similar, but it still makes me unique and different from the people around me. but yeah i still agree, people want to be different and thus become the same.

Awesome article. I've given up trying to be different, because I've realized people really do only end up in a different group

In my opinion, I'm both unique and different. I don't follow the crowd and what they do . I try set trends for people to one day like.

I think in all honesty that people should just be open-minded, not unique. If something influences them in a way they like then they should express it by their own means without taking credit for it. They can listen to what they want, dress how they want, whatever. As long as you're enjoying yourself and keeping your own--here's the only thing that's important in uniqueness--thoughts. Then everything is amazing. Stop trying to fit in; it's less fun if you're one in a crowd. Enjoy yourself. That's what I believe.

    I completely agree with you.

I've always thought that people are more unique when they don't TRY to be unique...If that makes sense.

Like, I'm unique in the fact that I'm myself. But I guess you could say I dress "scene" and I listen to all the popular modern rock bands. I don't avoid trends but I don't purposefuly follow them either. I like what like, therefore I am unique. =)

Oooh I agree! That was great ^-^ We're all unique in our own ways.
The media makes me feel like a piece of meat =\
"Oh. That one there. Bright colors and very loud. 20 POINTS OF UNIQUENESS 8D" type thing. Its one big stereotype.
    We are all stereotyped somehow.
But yes. We are all unique.
Good job on article, again :3

Exactly, though I think wanting to have things in common with others is a trait that most humans have. So it's natural that everybody would sort of lean toward being the same, even if being the same is striving to be different.
