Serial Killers

I am completely fascinated with serial killers.

About a year ago, in my criminal justice class we had a project on serial killers. We had to do a presentation on them and act out something that they did.
What did you do? Sounds interesting.
What we had to do was our teacher assigned us groups and a specific serial killer. We had do do resarch on them like their background, what crimes they committed and what their punishment was. Then we had to do a presentation on all the imformation that we got. After that we had to act out something like how they would kill their victims.
Personally one of my favorite projects that I had to do.

  • Serial killers fascinate me, because their all different, they all have a reason to kill and I like knowing what the reason is.

I don't think theirs ever been a serial killer in a city near me, so that kind of sucks.

  • I'm kinda terrified of serial killers.

    That would make sense.

  • I'm convinced that all serial killers are mentally insane, and I think mental disorders are absolutey fascinating. So, I guess, in that sense, I find serial killers rather interesting.

Still, it's absolutely horrible what happens to the victims.

  • I find serial killers so interesting and intriguing.
I've done my fair share of studying and searching on all that there is to do with the psychology behind killing and have even gone and searched through some killer's lives.
I don't think I'm obsessed- just 'passionate'. This is what I want to do for a living anyways. . .
Not the killing part- but the searching and studying and evaluating.

  • Personally, I think that they are truly fascinating. One of my dreams is to meet a serial killer. I know that is extremely odd, but it would just be amazing. Theodore Robert Bundy (Otherwise known as Ted Bundy) was executed in my state and I would love to have met him. I am currently reading a story by Anne Rule about him.

One of my favorite books is about two serial killers by the names of Andrew Compton and Jay Burne. The book is called Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite. She is an amazing author.

I would have also liked to meet Jack The Ripper. He is truly accomplished. He was never caught. Laughing

  • I'm fascinated by it. The person, before, after and during their mad half hour. I love reading stories about serial killers, I love reading up on the real cases and actually finding out something out about why its done.

  • I find it impossible to comprehend how somebody could do that to other human beings, I can't even think how somebody could get to that stage. I think a lot of the stories of serial killers highlight the lack of support available for people with mental disorders. And also the failings of the police service. I mean, I have the upmost respect for the police service - I have a lot of family history in it - but you just have to look at the Wearside Jack/Yorkshire Ripper case to see that some crimes are almost too...monstrous and inhumane for them to properly deal with.

  • I am completely intrigued by them, but at the same time, they absolutely disgust me.

For a college class, I had to profile 25 of them and some of the things I had to read and dig up were beyond disturbing. I think they're fascinating. I plan on being a forensic psychiatrist one day and they study mental illness among other things, but most serial killers have a mental problems.

  • I think serial killers are scary. However, I do like reading about them in books. I can see what is going on inside their head and why they want to kill. But as I said before, real serial killers scare me.

What course it that? I would love to take something like that.

My major is criminal Justice, but the course is Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice. My instructor talked a lot about criminal profiling, so we studied a whole semester on just that.

  • I find them fascinating. I love figuring out how their mind works and why it works like that. Reading books on serial killers is one of my biggest hobbies. It's so interesting to get into their heads and see what drove them to that point.

However, sometimes I scare myself by how interested I get in the subject.

  • I'm not obsessed with them, but serial killers do fascinate me, for their motives, why they decide to kill unless they were doing it for the pleasure of killing, though it's the history and background story of them that mostly interests me. But I do find them heartless monsters if they can kill with a clear conscious.

So far the serial killer the intrigues me the most is Jack the Ripper, I just find it amazing that he can keep his identity that long without being found out.

  • I have to say I'm fascinated, because I don't understand how someone can kill another human being for sport or fun. I'm terrified of them, but at the same time, I love reading crime stories and watching television shows about them because it's just so strange, how they think and what they think of the crimes they commit.
Like my username. Ehh, I've gotten some flak for it, but I'm fascinated, not a copycat. All in all, I think it's fascinating because when someone is murdered, people are always curious about the who, what, when, where, and most of all...why. Because that's the hardest thing to figure out sometimes, and people always love a good mystery.

Like Jack The Ripper was interesting.
But most of the time I find them kinda boring.

  • I don't quite find them fascinating, but I am intrigued by them. Some serial killers seem life off-the-wall wackos, but when you dig into them, you realize in what ways they made sense. To me, many serial killers were indeed intelligent. Their only "flaw" was... well... their killing spree-type behaviour. And the fact that a large percentage of them look like they should be in a loony bin with Jack Nicholson as a roomate and Louise Fletcher as a nurse.

When people go out and say that they're obsessed with a certain killer and that they want to meet them and shit like that, it's an odd type thing. This guy doesn't really give a damn. I kinda think that people are being ridiculous when they write to killers in prison. It's like those crazy fans that write "I'm your #1 fan, let me have your children" letters to celebrities. Serial killers, in my opinion, can be interesting, but aren't the type of thing people should "admire" or "idolize". Unless, of course, you plan on following their line of work. Probably not the best idea.

  • Naaah, serial killers don't do much for me.
I mean, they're kind of like a car crash.
They're terrible, but you gotta stare.
