I've been practicing lucid dreaming since I was thirteen. So for almost seven years now. Practically every dream I have is a lucid dream now. It's so much more fun and fulfilling than normal dreams. Cute

Yeah, I've had quiet a few of them. I think they come more frequently with older age. And I also think it has something to do with your sleeping state. I think you're semi consious when you're doing it but still in the dreaming stage of sleep. I've noticed that because some dreams I was able to control the things I say and do and some seemed like things I would usually say or do.

I lucid dream a lot. When I was little I had this nightmare(and a lot of times around the end of them I realize in the dream that i'm dreaming) And I told my brother. He told me that if I don't like the way my dreams are happening, to change it.

I didn't believe him xD But, I've learned how. It changes my dreams outcomes a lot. But sometimes I don't like to interfere :/.

A lot of times I'll have a dream, and when I start waking up, I just continue the dream.

    If that makes sense :P.

Whenever I realise I'm dreaming I usually scream at myself to wake up or something.. but the other night I managed to stick with it for a little while. It was fun. :3

I had a lucid dream the other night, except, unlike my others, it was a nightmare. I kept telling myself that it was just a dream, and that I could wake up, but I'd just "wake up" inside ANOTHER nightmare. It was not fun. XD

However, it is pretty cool to be "conscious" while dreaming. I mean, because even if it's a nightmare, I can recognize stuff that makes me know I'm dreaming, and then I don't have to be as afraid. Example, I always sleep with my bathroom light OFF, so if I have a dream and it's ON, I know I'm dreaming and can recognize that and roll with it as I wish. XD

Also, I noticed, I'm the only one in my family who can lucid dream (or at least remembered lucid dreaming). My youngest brother is creative like me, and he has vivid dreams, but never lucid dreams. The rest of my family is very analytical and logical, and they don't even remember regular dreams. Does being more creative have something to do with lucid dreaming? Or does it matter?

I'm still trying to become lucid, however I find that meletonin really helps with it. It's meant to help you sleep, but if you take them on a regular basis it makes you lucid, or even when you do take them you have interesting dreams.

The thing I hate the most about it is when I think I've gotten up to use the bathroom when I have to when I haven't then I'm wondering why I have to go so bad then I'm like "Oh, I didn't use it."

This happens to me most of the time without trying, but I really don't know why anyone would willingly subject themselves to this, especially since I suffer from sleep paralysis (somewhat correlated) and it really isn't very pleasant.

I had one maybe once. Most of my dreams are uncontrolable, and based on my fears. Shifty Can you really learn how to lucid dream? Or is the thing a joke? Has anyone actually learned from Wikihow, because I'd like to take control of my dreams for once. Shifty

I almost managed to lucid dream by accident last night. I was working on a story about lucid dreaming before I went to bed, and it had a reality check scene in it. My mind somehow decided to incorporate that in my dream later, so in my dream I asked myself whether I was dreaming, and I realized I was. I couldn't really act on it, though, but I remember it very vividly.

Yep, you can definitely condition yourself to be able to recognize dream signs and use those to become lucid :)

This. I had these kind of lucid dreams for weeks. After a strange experience, my perception of the world completely changed and so everything I did was step by step. When I fell asleep like this, I was always aware of where I was in falling asleep, but couldn't control it.

It happens to me every now and then.

"A lucid dream can begin in one of two ways. A dream-initiated lucid dream (DILD) starts as a normal dream, and the dreamer eventually concludes it is a dream, while a wake-initiated lucid dream (WILD) occurs when the dreamer goes from a normal waking state directly into a dream state, with no apparent lapse in consciousness." Mine would be the second. I sometimes feel myself falling asleep and, next thing I know, I'm dreaming, but it's weird because I somehow feel I am awake, if that makes any sense.

I know how to lucid dream. My dreams were always so vivid and I could sometimes remember exact details if not the whole dang thing. I'm a very powerful dreamer and it probably has to do with all the carbohydrates I consume before bed. Anyways I actually taught myself how to lucid dream. I started out by recognizing when I was dreaming. Each night when I did dream I would do my best to be able to know that I was dreaming while I was still asleep. I noticed certain abnormalities such as people I haven't seen or feeling worried. Then once you have mastered that you can now lucid dream. You can manipulate your brain to do basically whatever. It's like daydreaming, your mind makes up the images...only you're dead asleep. Start out with flying. Imagine that feeling in your stomach when you're falling or really excited and then...fly. You're mind will accept the command and do as you say. It's an amazing thing. Try it. But whatever you do ... don't stress out about it. You can cause yourself a form of sleep deprivation. And make sure you know the difference between dreams and reality (yes, like inception) I sometimes have a hard time telling the difference because my dreams are so vivid.

I've experienced lucid dreaming, just a handful of times. I really, really, really don't like it. My dreams are too intense and weird for that shit, even if I'm aware I'm dreaming. It reminds me of a ketamine trip. :/

My mother, when she was smoking, had lucid dreams all the time. She said that she could fly and that all her dreams were very thrilling and fun. I think that it would be quite interesting to learn how to lucid dream; I haven't had any lucid dreams yet, but if I constantly ask myself "Am I dreaming?" throughout the day, like the Wiki said, maybe it will sink in and I can have another parallel universe--controlled.

I've always thought, as an Atheist, that it would be very nice if once we died, it was like going to sleep forever. Yes, that is my hypothesis; but, if we were really going to sleep forever, it would be amazing if we lived in a dream. If we...lived in one dream, forever, and those lucky few could actually lucid dream and remember their past life. But, I don't think that's true or possible, so my hopes fade.
