Ive had my fair share of lucid dreams. Some recently. Though the stranges and most traumatizing lucid dream I've had happened a few days ago. I had recently gotten into Amnesia though stopped for a while. My sister has been getting nightmares but I havent until that night. All I remember was running down a hallway being chased down by a brute. Knowing this wasa dream I ran into the bathroom and shut the door. The door started to smash open and I jumped into the tub and turned thewater on,hoping to wake myself. The monster approached me and just before it got to me I woke up. Though I was still in a dream because I never really woke up. When I fell back asleep the same dream I had repeated ktself though inted of waking up i went into a different dream. After a while the dream changed and I was back in the same hallwa running. That ,ast time I turned the water on I gasped as I thought I wasnt quick enough thinking I was a goner. Though that last time I awoke and I didnt dare go back to sleep that morning.

I dont understand why I have been having strange dreams lately and I have had weirder ones believe me. Though this one seemed to be the weirdest out of all and I thought I needed to share my experience.

I always lucid dream, I'm aware of my dreams and I can even change it while I'm sleeping. It's a little weird, but it's normal for me now.

It has only happened to me once. I was paralyzed completely and I realized this quickly because I was still not asleep. I couldn't move at all and I started panicking. I didn't see anything unusual, but I was terrified because I couldn't move anything.

I started telling myself to move my little finger from my left hand, over and over, until I could finally move it and with that, I could move the rest of my body.

It was a terrifying experience. I certainly hope it never happens again.

In Mexico we have a term for lucid dreaming that says "se te subio el muerto", which translates to "the dead sat over you."

    It's a weird saying.

    @ fen'harel.
That's an awesome saying. It makes sense because you only dream during REM sleep, and when dreaming of any kind - I believe - your body is completely still. That's why you often jolt awake, but in reality have only moved a tiny amount.

You were probably experiencing sleep paralysis! It can happen for a moment or so after waking up, where you are awake, but your body isn't moving and you aren't breathing. A friend of mine gets this from time to time, and I saw him have it once, very strange to watch I must say.

    @ fen'harel.
That's likely to be linked to the "old hag" hallucination that is quite common in sleep paralysis. The sensation of paralysis gives you the feeling that you can't really breathe, which results in many people seeing a figure looming over them and wrapping its hands around their throat. For some reason, that figure tends to be an old, witch-like woman. XD

I wasn't out of breath, luckily, but I did see a shadow crossing by, which made me panic and prompted me to command myself to move.

It's an interesting experience, but I am too terrified to fully attempt lucid dreaming.

I have been starting to lucid dream ever since I created a dream jurnal. Ever since I had it I could be more aware in my dream and could actually control some of the dreams.

I was inspired by a video by a woman on Youtube named Sonia who showed me a lucid dreaming tea, and I'll be damned if I ordered me some to try out. It's supposed to be really helpful in regards to dreaming and seeing as this topic keeps popping up no matter what site I'm on, I'm taking it as a cue to get more involved in this and improve my lucid dreaming. Yup! Mr. Green hope it works though, from what she described, it's supposed to...so fingers crossed I didn't just waste 13 bucks :P

Lucid dreaming actually leads to most people panicking. It happens for many reasons, or so I like to think, but for me...it happens more than often. It's mostly because I have a terrible sleep pattern. Sleeping on your back or stomach makes it happen more. I hate it mostly because of the paralysis.

Last episode was a month ago, but by then I learned not to panic and just force myself to move my limbs. Sometimes my body tricks me into thinking I'm awake already, and when that happens I have to push harder.

Some people consider this astral projection. Odd though, that stuff like this happens.

I've been interested in starting to lucid dream for a while. I'm underage so I can't buy any herbs or anything without my parents getting weirded out. Tonight will be my first attempt with the MILD (mnenomic induction of lucid dreaming) method. Wish me luck!

I've had a lucid dream once and it was a week or so ago. I daydream often, so it's hard to know if I was actually awake + just daydreaming already at 6AM, but I do think it was more of a lucid dream. I can't recall what I was dreaming about, but I remember being aware that it was a dream - which is something I used to strive to do. I knew I had to get up for school early, yet I also knew I was dreaming while asleep. I knew this was not another daydream because of the lack of sensations + blurriness of the dream. It's so hard to explain, but it felt oddly satisfying (spelling?) when I was able to control myself in my sleeping dream.
