I tend to write in R because it means my characters can swear as much as I do in real life. I also like to deal with topics such as war and the likes, so having it under R gives me almost complete freedom to be as detailed as I like in regards to that.

Because I write mostly romance and I believe there are things that you can only really tell about how characters react towards one another through the way they interact with each other through sex, I pretty much only write NC-17.

There's only two chaptered things that I've written that haven't been rated NC-17: one's a BTR showverse fic where the characters are both virgins in high school (hence there's no sex to be written about) and the other's not predominantly a romance story, and the main character's significant other dies within the first few chapters, so the one sex scene between them is lofty, metaphorical, R-rated sex.

I'm predominantly a oneshot writer, and I do write a lot of kid fic and gen fic, so that's obviously not NC-17, but I prefer to write NC-17 stuff.

I usually do R just because it encompasses most things, and I don't typically write things that are graphic enough to go outside that.

PG-13 because I'm...a little wimp to write anything graphic! I got a R story idea brewing in my head though.
