^ She was talking to Billie Joe, the person above you. Cute

I think having both of them would be better. Think
Maybe an option to hide them/one?

I still don't like this idea at all.
I'm already really frustrated with the articles section.
And giving points to authors for good poems/stories?
There's 100,000+ users on this site.
A lot of people's stories don't even get read.
Then again, my opinion doesn't really matter.

    I like that.
This points thing is different. I mean, I like the idea of being able to award and earn points, but I liked the post counts too.
Maybe things will get better when we can do other things to receive points.
I think right now most of us are up in arms because we're all the same again. There isn't one mibbian with an insane number of posts/points anymore, (save for those that post a lot of articles)
Anyone can deny this, but everyone likes a little bit of competition to be the best, or have more posts/points than others. We wouldn't be human if we didn't. XD

I'll be looking forward for the other ways to earn points. Very Happy

But post counts are a staple in every forum. It's very odd having a forum without them.
    Not anymore.

I really like what Dujo is doing (alliteration, for the win). There's a lot wrong with the basic forum set-up, in my opinion. This (the point system and new Mibba) could turn out to be an awesome thing, but you guys need to give it a chance.

The post counts weren't even valid anymore, because a lot of people posted mostly in places where your counts didn't go up so they were unbalanced.

The only thing I find slightly strange is not being able to gather an estimate of how new a person is anymore.

I really don't care for the idea.
It's not a bad idea at all, but it would be cool if we could get points by posting other things as well!
I've got no problem though. Just another number. Cute

edit: (I heard Dujo is going through and removing them off of users who don't want them. I have no problem with mine, so you don't need to remove them. Thanks!)

I can see where the complaints are coming from. If points are going to be awarded for other areas of writing on the site, it should include them from the start.

But like several of the recent changes, this one, too, doesn't really concern me. I'm not here to earn points or post counts, and it's not a popularity contest. I'm here to share the stories that fill my head. If other site members enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them, then that's rewarding enough for me - and it speaks more volumes than any number under my avatar.

That would be a great option to have, I think. I never really cared about post counts, and so I don't really mind the switch or anything, but I'd definitely support being able to hide points for those who just don't want others to see. Is this a possibility, Dujo?

I really don't see the point in this. I think that this will only cause drama from users.

    I really don't like this Dujo, I don't write articles, it'll
give those who do a huge advantage over those who
don't until you add more. You should give points for
stories written, since nearly everyone here does this and
it'd be fair. I like the points giving part though.

Can we also get points for writing stories and poems and such? To promote more writing? I like this much better. This is a site for writing, not post counts. I like that we are bringing the focus back to writing =D

I personally don't understand it. I mean, what do the points actually mean? But in all honesty it seems like one of those things where if you ignore it, it doesn't mean much. So that's what I'm going to do. Not pay any ateention to it... for now anyway.

I don't like it.. It's not fair to people who, for instance, prefer the forums, and reading.
And I like seeing post counts. Shifty
That's exactly how I feel. There's probably going to be a bunch of members that don't gain any more points because they prefer reading and posting on the forums.

Not one of the best updates, Dujo. No

Again with the articles. I don't understand why they're important. This is a writing site, not exclusively for journalism.
I do like the idea of other authors being able to give others points.

Could we still be able to view out post counts somewhere, though? Shifty
