Role-Playing Rules

  • ^There's already a rule about having more than one thread per RP-ing group. XD Alot of people just seem to ignore it with closed RP's though.

  • Think You mean like, if two of the same people opened multiple closed RPs?
I don't think it's a problem, honestly. I mean, I know I've done it and I'd rather have two different concepts of RPs in separate threads, even if it's with the same person.

But the requesting thing, I like. Like, if you have no one to RP. It could be like the help thread in general, there ought to be a Q & A of RPing as well, in my opinion (as a sticky).

  • ^ It means that you can't make two threads for one RP. Think Like you can't make one for people to sign up and then a seperate one to RP in, they have to be the same thread.

But, you are allowed to RP with the same group of people in multiple RP's. XD

  • No, I know that. lmfao I must have got confused. I haven't seen that, though (of course, after the rule was set, I mean). Think

  • I've only seen a couple tbh. Think They seemed kinda new, so I don't know if they'd actually read the rules. But They set up a thread asking for some one to RP with, once they've found some one and discussed what RP they want, they then ditch the thread and then start a whole new one. It irritates me. Grr [Though I only generally tend to notice this a week later ¬__¬']

  • Oooh, that. Yeah, I've seen that. lmfao I sound like a proper noob, don't I? Anywho, yeah. I see that around. XD

yes, this is what I don't like. I see all these new threads with things like 'One on One RP Anyone?" in the title and I'm like, is that really necessary? 'cause I feel like it just clogs the forums.

I think it'd be easier if people either just went back to PMing the people they want to one on one thing, OR if there was a sticky thread in which people could say "I want to do a one on one about such-and-such, PM me if anyone's interested" or something of the sort.
    just a suggestion.

    like that, yeah

  • I think there should be a sub forum or something to separate the one on one RPs from the multi user RPs because the one on one RPs are taking over the forum and it's a lot to sift through them and the people looking for others to RP with.

    I agree with that.

It does seem like a logical idea, for organization, but (just stating opinion XD) it seems we'd have to go through quite a bit just to get to our closed ones, yano? I know I do multiple RPs at a time and I just switch from closed to an open one by clicking "Role-playing" at the bottom. Know what I mean?

I like the idea, but it would be loads of work to sort through the closed RPs and put them in a different thread if that was even possible and such.

  • I just think it'd be nice to have a sticky for people to discuss closed and group RP's. Kind of like the Joint Stories Thread, looking for writers, thread.

I put something similar to this in the suggestions forum a while ago. I completely agree with this. Clap

  • Yeah, I just think it would be easier for a lot of people, old users and new.

    Similar to this one?

    I think it's brilliant.
    January 2nd, 2011 at 08:58pm
  • Yeah! XD It'd be great for organization.

    Speaking of which, organization suggestion.

  • ^ I knew someone had suggested it before! XD

  • Something that bugs me, and I'm really not trying to be mean here; it just gets on my nerves, is when people who have never role-played on here before come in and start to really mess something up. I'm not talking about anyone in particular it's just sometimes it happens.
Sure they have to learn somewhere, but it gets tiresome to see just really small posts, and horrible spelling without even trying to fix it. Or they don't use correct capitalization.
But, I know I can't do anything about it anyway. I just felt the need to get that out and this was the only place I could think of so.. Thank you.

  • That bothers me too, especially when the rules of the site are proper spelling and capitalization.
    January 3rd, 2011 at 09:03pm
  • ^ It happens a lot of one of the threads I'm involved in, and it's damn irritating. >_O One time a new person came in and said 'All your characters are dead in the manga, so they're all dead now. Role playing is a game, so now I'm changing the rules'. After about 25 threads of development, I think some times people should understand they can't change everything as they wish when there have been people who have been part of that RP from the beggining and like the way it is. Twitch

Just saying, I agree with you. >_O

  • I also agree with you, Mia. I run into this a lot and then I feel like a mean person when I PM the person about it. A writing site is no place for people who don't even want to try to learn how to fix their grammar, spelling, capitalization and sentence structure errors. Some of those making these errors of the age that they should know better!
