Heaven's Not Enough

"Well, I definitely wouldn't mind, but you came here to visit your parents, remember?" With Ryn and Elias being so quiet though, it was easy to forget they were even there. However, when she glanced over, she was amused to see that they were wrapped up in enjoying each other apparently, especially kissing. "Well..." she laughed.

"I'm personally partial to steak, but I'm kind of a carnivore," Rafe admitted to Iona with a small grin. "If you asked me about something that didn't include meat at all, I probably wouldn't be able to tell you anything."

Aspen smiled softly at Nik, taking her hand, and kissed her softly. "No, you don't need to stay up while I sleep. Thank you for the thought though. We aren't in a warzone, and there's definitely no need for it. If I thought something might happen, I would be the one staying up. I just need to give my body time to calm down and realize everything's safe." She kissed Nik again. "And don't be sorry, Nik. I'm fine."

Ialu smiled softly at Sara, nodding. If he were being honest with himself though, he sort of wished that she would've also said that she wanted him around... but it was okay. "I'll do everything I can to help with Kyle," he promised. "And teach him what I know, though there's quite a bit that could definitely be different."

Cenric chuckled, "I think we've been excused." Her still in his arms she stood, "Come on, let's go home and relax." Cenric carried her through his parents house and out the door where he made a protal to take them home."

Iona rolled her eyes, a grin on her face, "Well I'm not a rabbit, that's for sure," she said in a teasing tone, "So I'm perfectly fine with meat."

Nik bit her lip, then leaned forward, "Then let me replace the horrid memories of war with something I hope is a lot nicer." She pressed her lips to Aspen's, kissing the angel deeply as she shifted to lay against her further.

Sara sighed, worry entering her gaze, "Is there... has there ever been a human demon hybrid before? Anything we can use to understand what's going on?"

AS Cenric stood, Asha's arms went around his neck. She was surprised -and not only because she was quite a few months pregnant- and then became worried. "Are you sure you should be doing this?" she asked, remembering what he'd said about his heart and the spell that the Selva had used to try and kill him. No sooner had she asked the question than were they back home though. Binx had somehow made it through the portal before Cenric had closed it, and immediately hopped up on the couch to make himself comfortable since they'd ended up in the living room.

"I knew there was a reason why I liked you," Rafe teased her with a grin as their drinks came. When they were asked if they were ready to order, he glanced over at her questioningly.

Aspen had about a moment to think she was horrible at being reassuring when Nik kissed her. She pulled the angel closer, using their positioning to her advantage in this as she kissed Nik back deeply and ran a hand into her hair.

Ialu shook his head with a small sigh, rubbing the back of his neck. "Kyle is part angel too, remember... actually, probably about half human, then only a fourth angel and a fourth demon. And I just don't know what to expect, honestly." He gave Sara a small smile. "I'm really sorry about that, just so you know. Honestly, there's still a lot we don't understand about demon and angel hybrids, without adding human into the mix. So far it just seems like we have some demonic traits and some angelic traits but... I don't know, Sara. I'm just taking what I know about Kyle's demon side to try and help figure it out. For all we know, he could also have the gift of healing, like my mom and I. It's just something that we have to wait and see as it emerges."

Cenric walked them over to the recliner, sitting down with her still in his lap, "Probably not, but I don't care. I've spent so long with out you in my arms and I don't want to let you go." He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to her lips.

Iona nodded, "Can I get a steak, well done, with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables?" she handed the waitress the menu, turning and waiting while Rafe ordered.

Nik sighed softly and wrapped her arms around Aspen. She continued to kiss her deeply, her hands shifting to trail along Aspen's sides.

Sara nodded, "Well, at least I have you and your family here to help." she sent him a smile, "I do appreciate all your help."

Any arguments died on Asha's lips when Cenric kissed her. She kissed him back, breathing out a small sigh after the kiss had ended. "I'm so glad that you're home and not going anywhere for a while," she said as she leaned her head against his shoulder

Rafe also ordered steak, but asked for a baked potato and garlic bread with his. The waitress jotted down their orders, took their menus, and left them alone once more. "Decided to try out the steak for yourself, huh?" he asked Iona with a smile.

Ialu returned Sara's smile and gave her a nod. "Well, he's my son too. What kind of person would I be if I didn't do anything and just disappeared?" he grimaced briefly. "I'm sorry for disappearing for so long though..." he sighed. "I wish I'd known sooner."

Cenric smiled, his arms wrapping around her, "Well, I'm actually not going anywhere, seeing as how I was damaged in the war, so you don't need to worry."

Iona leaned in toward Rafe, a grin on her face, "Well, steak isn't necessarily something scary... why do you ask?"

Sara shook her head, "Ialu, it wasn't your fault." She shrugged, "You didn't know. It wasn't like you knew and then left."

"I know," Asha smiled up at him. "And I fully plan on enjoying all the time I have with you," she informed him. "Though at some point we're going to have to talk about that 'big' family you want. It might sound good to you, but you aren't the one who has to be pregnant," she teased him with a smile, enjoying being wrapped up in his arms and just having him back in general.

Rafe gave her a small shrug. "I didn't ask. I just thought it was kind of funny that you order the only specific food I mentioned." He raised an eyebrow at her.

"I still feel like I should've known somehow..." Ialu sighed. "Or that I'd come back sooner rather than listening to Iona. I felt the pull for years before I finally gave in. I should've just listened to it sooner."

Cenric ran his palm over her distended abdomen, grinning at her, "Fair point. I suppose you do get a say in how many kids we'll have... so at least five, yes?" He teased her.

Iona sighed, "Fine. I'm totally copying you." she said, eyes glinting with humor, "I'm sorry."

Sara reached out and took his hand, "Ialu, stop. Beating yourself over this isn't going to help anything. I'm just glad you're here now." She squeezed his hand, "So stop."

If it hadn't been for his grin giving him away, Asha might've thought that Cenric was being serious. "At least one," she corrected with a laugh. "I don't know how in the world you expect us to handle five little monsters."

Rafe managed to school his expression so that it appeared grave as he reached out and patted her hand as if in consolation. "That's perfectly alright, dear. You're forgiven." The urge to grin was pretty strong, so he was surprised that he was able to keep a straight face."

Ialu sighed softly, but then gave Sara a small smile and squeezed her hand back with a small nod. "Okay, I'll stop," he promised. "And actually... I'm kind of glad I'm here now too, honestly. I think I already love Kyle somehow and... his mom isn't so bad either." he gave her a teasing smile.

"Well, maybe not all at once. Once every century would work with me." He leaned down and pressed a light kiss to her nose, "That way they'll at least be a little older than their next sibling."

Iona sighed and pouted looking down at the table, "I feel so ashamed. Perhaps I should just go..." She shifted to stand.

Sara laughed, "Well I know Kyle loves you. He loved you even when you were just a person I would describe to him." she leaned a little closer, not realizing she did it, "As for his mom..." she bit her lip, "well... she's still got some feelings."

"I'm still not really sure if I like this plan of yours," Asha smiled, shaking her head at him. "Besides, don't you think our family is big enough without us adding to it?" She kissed his cheek, one of her hands playing idly with his hair since her arms were still wrapped around his neck.

Cenric pouted, looking down at her distended belly, "But...." He sighed, giving a little groan, "Fine. How about this. We won't try for another child, but if one happens then fate has spoken." He met her gaze and grinned, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to her cheek.

Iona sat and gave him a smile, pressing a little kiss to his knuckles, "I was kidding, Rafe," she said softly, "I just ordered a steak, what makes you think I'm leaving before I get to eat it?" She continued to hold his hand in hers, pressing his knuckles to her cheek, "Though I like knowing you want me to stay."

Sara bit her lip, eyes never leaving his as a blush stole across her face, "Well, they're definitely not bad," she found herself teasing, surprised that she was flirting at all.

Asha laughed at Cenric and how he was acting because it really was kind of funny -to her at least. "Okay," she relented to him with a small smile. "I think that one I might be able to agree to. I just wasn't feeling the 'five child minimum' you were suggesting earlier." From across the room, Binx made a noise that sounded as if he were agreeing with her.

Rafe laughed and grinned at Iona, stroking her cheek after she pressed his knuckles to her cheek. Then he leaned forward and gave her a soft kiss. "I know you were kidding," he said when he pulled away. "But knowing you, you might have actually walked out just to prove a point, only to come back later, so I figured I'd just save us a little time."

Ialu grinned brilliantly at Sara's response -not just the words, either. "Well, I'm glad for that. Because I have feelings too, and they're definitely not the bad sort."

If we continue, there's still plenty that could happen with the kids, especially poor Cenric and Asha since she's an Oracle... but if you're bored, that's fine too xD I'm just curious what you wanna do)

(Yay! I'm relieved to hear you aren't bored ^_^ I definitely understand being busy. My classes are keeping me on my toes for sure, but I'm on Thanksgiving Break this week and somehow got out of having work to do, so I'll be free whenever unless I'm cleaning or something.)

Cenric sighed, "Alright. Then we're agreed. Fate choses when and how many children we have.... but I still want a large family." He leaned forward and pressed another kiss to her lips, "You sure you don't want lots of kids...?"

Iona smiled, returning his kiss, "Well, then I suppose I can stay for more than just the steak..." she continued to tease. With a little sigh she sat back in her seat, taking a sip of her drink, "By the way... how is it you found your way into helping Hell? Isn't Heaven supposed to hate us down there?"

Sara stared at him, biting her lip a bit before she sighed and sat up, "Why not?" She asked, shaking her head a little, "I mean... out of all the people on earth and... and in Hell why me? And let's not take Kyle into effect right now... I want to know why I'm the one who managed to catch your attention." She wasn't anything special..."

Nik stood next to Aspen, nervously twisting her hands, "Are you sure they're okay with me? I mean... we are just showing up out of the blue. I won't be a bother to them?"

"I'm sure I wouldn't know what to do with all those kids, and I'm not entirely sure you know either," Asha replied and kissed his cheek. "And you know, you keep saying you want a large family, but I think we already have a large family. I think you're growing on my dad too," she teased with a mischievous smile.

"You mean over all or recently?" Rafe asked, tipping his head. "Because if you mean recently, its because Purgatory had the bad luck to make itself the common enemy. But if you mean in the past... I'm friends with Aspen, and her brother lives in Hell, so that just makes me special," he teased, winking at her with a grin.

Ialu blinked in surprise at Sara's sudden outburst, sighing as she pulled away too. "What are you talking about, Sara?" he asked, running into a hair. "Why does anyone ever become interested in anyone? I could ask you 'why me', too, you know. There's plenty of guys here on Earth." He sat back, not really knowing what to say.

Aspen gave Nik a patient, somewhat bemused, look, and gently took the angel's hands, stopping their nervous twisting. "Nik, it's fine. I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm pretty sure Ryn loves you. Besides, Elias told me that we should stop by, so they're probably expecting us to drop by sooner or later. You aren't a bother at all," she reassured her, for what felt like the millionth time. Aspen had just made the portal a moment before Nik spoke, and she wondered why Nik was so nervous... she knew Elias and Ryn.

"You think?" He asked, wrapping his arms around her, "Because I never know with that guy... one second he seems normal and then next... wham!" He flung his arms in the air, "I'm hit with an invisible force and thrown across the room."

Iona smiled, "I always wondered how Uncle Elias and Aunt Ryn got together. I've been told how they met... but really, they are so... different. I never understood how they got along so well." She shrugged, "Then again, here I am sitting with you. I never thought I'd enjoy spending time with anyone, let alone an angel."

Sara looked down at her hands. She sat in silence for a bit and when she spoke it was almost a whisper, "Because you made me laugh," she lifted her gaze to his, "I'd just gotten out of a long, brutal relationship. One that drained me. I never thought I'd laugh again... never through I could trust another..."

Nik held Aspen's hands, "I just.... I don't know." She sighed, "I feel... I feel like I'm kind of the odd one out. Your family is so open and accepting and I just don't know how to handle that." She gave her a small smile, "And now we're engaged and I'm terrified they'll disapprove."
