He shook his head knowing in his heart that he despised it. "Okay. I will pick something we can both enjoy this time." Jake stood and walked over to the movie cabinet before picking out an action movie. "Yeah, that would be great. How's action sound?"

"Mmm." She thought about it for a moment before replying,"I like playing tennis, reading, and shopping." A girl could never go wrong with a shopping. Lilly was slightly grateful that he was striking up the conversation. "What about you?"

Mariah stood up, "Sounds great." She said. She walked out of the living room then grabbed them both a bottle of water from the fridge. She sat on the couch, handing Jake his when he sat down.

Marcus thought for a moment, "I like playing pool, golfing and i also enjoy a good game of tennis." He said. He didn't use to golf, but being a business man he felt obligated.

He had put the DVD into the player and the trailers were playing as he waited for her. Once she sat down, he skipped it to the menu before pressing play. Taking the bottle of water, Jake allowed Mariah to snuggle close to him and he put his arm around her shoulder.

"I've never played pool before only seen it." Her face scrunched slightly hearing the word 'golf' since her father was a golf fanatic. "My father is obsessed with golf. Maybe he'll ask you to play with him one day." Lilly smiled hearing that he liked tennis as well. "I feel like there is never a dull moment in tennis."

Mariah leaned against him as the movie started. She bit her bottom lip lightly then got up and turned the lights off. Mariah got one of the covers then laid it over their laps as she sat down. She let her hand rest on his thigh as they watched the movie.

Marcus smiled, "I'll teach you to play pool sometime." He offered. He laughed softly when she talked about her dad, "I've golfed with him he's not that good." He whispered. Marcus looked forward then back at her when she mentioned tennis, "You any good?" He asked.

As the movie continued to play, he would glance over at her every so often to make sure that she wasn't falling asleep. He didn't want it to be that they were both struggling to finish the movie. Gently, he stroked his thumb against her arm.

"Okay." She unintentionally replied with a little more happiness than she should have. Lilly laughed knowing that her dad prided himself on his golfing abilities. Pretending to zip her lips closed, she replied,"I won't say a word about that. I know it's true though." She whispered the last part back to him just in case the news traveled towards her father. "I'd hope so. I've been playing since I was five."

Mariah smiled as she felt his thumb against her skin. Even that little touch gave her butterflies in her stomach. She rested her head on his shoulder as she let her fingers lightly glide up and down his thigh.

Marcus smirked, "I think i can beat you." He said. He liked to make everything a challenge. It was just the kind of person he was. Marcus leaned back against his seat, looking at her. "Yea i could definitely beat you." He teased.

Jake kissed the top of her head enjoying the time they were spending together. He let his head gently rest on top of her own as he continued to watch.

Lilly was offended and let it clearly show on her face but smiled a moment later. "Don't underestimate me. Maybe I will beat you and show you that I am not as weak as I look." She was always up for a good challenge and liked having good competitors.

Mariah watched as the movie ended then pulled the cover off of Jake. She laid her head on his lap then pulled the covers over herslf. Mariah looked up at him, "What do you want to do now?" She asked.

Marcus smiled, "I don't think so." He said. "We should play sometime. If that's okay with your father." He said. He didn't want to overstep his boundaries. Marcus knew it was wrong of him to hang out with an under aged girl.

When the movie ended, glanced over at Mariah as she pulled the covers off of them. "I don't know." He told her as he ran his fingers through her hair and then leaned down to kiss her.

"I'm sure he'd be fine with it. We're just playing tennis, right?" She said waving off the possibility her father wouldn't allow it. Moreover, Lilly just wanted to spend more time with him. She knew that she couldn't develop feelings for him - he was older and partner of the company. "I am going to make you regret those words." She smiled sweetly at him.

Mariah kissed him back and looked at him. He seemed to be so relaxed all the time. She didn't understand how he let nothing bother him.

Marcus smiled, "Yea well i better talk to him about it anyway." He said. He laughed softly, "I never regret what i say." He teased.

He looked right back at him wondering what was going through her mind. "What is it?" Jake asked as she continued to look at him. It was obvious that she was thinking about something.

"Alright then. As long as I get to prove you wrong." She smiled at him as her father came around to the both of them. It seemed that he had finished going around to talk to people.

Mariah shook her head, "Nothing i was just thinking." She said as she looked at him. She kissed him softly and grinned.

Marcus smiled then stood when her father walked over to them. He took the drink her father offered him and took a sip of it.

Jake raised an eyebrow not entirely convinced that it really had been nothing. From experience, he had come to realize that sometimes 'nothing' was actually a giant matter. "Alright, then." He said since Mariah had grinned at him in return. That meant that it really was nothing as she seemed content.

Out of no where, his cell phone started to ring and he reached into his pocket. It was one of friends from the Cafeteria. "You still comin' tonight, right? You can't miss out on the party, man!" His friend practically yelled into the phone. Jake glanced down at Mariah unsure of what to say since that meant he would have to leave her. "What's up? You've seemed different lately. Like, less into girls and stuff." His friend continued to question. He felt himself starting to panic hearing those words,"U-Uh, I've been a bit sick. That's all. I'll definitely see you later at the party, man." With that, his friend hung up and Jake sighed as he gave Mariah an apologetic look.

As he sipped the drink, Lilly decided to bite the bullet as she blurted out, "So, Dad. Marcus wants to play me in tennis. He thinks he's got the victory in the bag but I wanna prove him wrong. You mind if we play a few games?" She wasn't sure why she had gone straight into that conversation. Perhaps because she wanted to spent more time with Marcus than she realized. She hoped that she didn't seem suspicious when she asked.

Mariah sat up, then stood up. "You might want to go get ready so you can go party with all those girls." She said. Mariah walked away from him and went into the kitchen. She got herself a bottle of water, leaning against the counter.

Marcus was surprised when Lilly just blurted it out. Her dad nodded, "I don't see a problem with that." He said. Marcus smiled, "Looks like you get the opportunity to prove yourself." He said to Lilly, smiling some.

"U-Uh, wait, Mariah." He followed shortly after her into the kitchen not knowing how he was going to sort this out. It had been his luck that his friend called him right in front of her. "I'm not going to get with any girl. I have you.. All I have to do is just show up at the party so my friends don't get on my case, alright?" Jake told her with a sigh.

"Thank you, Dad." She gave him a nod of gratitude. Then turning to Marcus, Lilly grinned as she poked his chest with her pointer finger,"I am going to prove you wrong."

Mariah nodded, "And I said go." She said. She took a sip of her water, looking at him. "You're going to be late." She whispered. She ran her fingers through her hair and set her bottle of water down.

Marcus laughed,"I highly doubt that." He said. He took a sip of his beer, watching as her dad walked away again.

He looked right back at her not convinced that she was actually fine with it. "I just don't want you getting upset with me. Nothing is going to happen, alright?" Jake tried to reassure himself that she wasn't going to get mad. That was one thing that he had a hard time to cope with - her being upset with him.

"You keep saying that but you'll see." She grinned at him not being able to wait for the look when he lost to her. "When are you free then?'

Mariah nodded, "Okay." She said. She hoped hd wasn't dumb enough to do anything. Mariah would hear about it so she wasn't worried.

Marcus thought for a moment, "I'm off this satuday." He said. Marcus thought it would be fun to hang out with her.

"Okay, then. I'll call you later, alright?" He told her as he quickly kissed the top of her head before rushing out of the door. Jake knew that nothing was going to happen between him and another girl. Sure, maybe he would have to kiss a girl just to appease his friends but it wasn't like he was going to develop feelings. It was just for show and nothing more than that. He just hoped that Mariah would see it the same way as he did when it came to stuff like this.

Lilly nodded her head feeling excitement bubble up inside of her,"Alright, that sounds fine with me. Saturday it is then." She couldn't explain why she felt this emotion coursing through her. It was just her father's partner in business and nothing more. He was good looking but many men were good looking as well. Lilly found herself dumb founded by the enigma of Marcus inside of her head.
