Alison smiled and blushed as he started to talk. "Me... No I'm not involved with anyone." she said and bit her lip at the rest of the statement. "Well I do need a place to stay before I fly out to my interview." she said. That would give them at least 4 days. Alison felt like she was bright red.

Keith sighed as she stood there in front of him and he picked her up setting her on the couch and standing before her. "Fine now you want to talk, then we'll do it your way." Keith ran a hand through his hair. "You wanna blame me for us not working fine, but let me tell you first what responsibilities I gained while you ran off. I had to take over the inn and help at the shop. I had to keep my family together and why you ask because I became the man of the house, as the oldest it was my responsibility after my father died. "So while I wanted to run after you or even just wallow in my own self pity I couldn't. I have to keep my mama together and my brother from running off. So go ahead and blame me for you running off and not telling me a damn thing, you blame me for not dropping everything to go after you when you made it obvious you didn't want me to know where you where headed because you didn't even tell me, and you blame me for not understanding why you only came back when your life there fell apart and you needed a safe place to come back to. Well I didn't wait for you Hailey! I cried and cursed and threw things wondering what in the hell I had done so wrong to make you run from me, to make you not say a damn thing and just run. You wanted it out in the open, you wanted to talk. "Well there it is. I blame you for breaking me and for not being there when I needed you most." Keith said and shook his headed feeling like leaving but wasn't gonna give her the satisfaction.

Jackson grew a big smile on his face when she informed him that she wasn't involved with anyone. He didn't say anything to that though, not wanting to come across as a pervert or something of that nature. However, the minute Alison made the comment about needing a place to stay before she flew out to her interview, Jackson just grinned even more. This was destiny taking place right here between them and he didn't think either of them were going to truly fight it off. "Well I have a place for you to stay." He said, still smiling as he walked with her.

Hailey just sat there, not saying a single word as Keith spoke. She knew that she broke his heart and all, but the one she never did was blame all of this on him. She did all she could not to cry, because she wasn't sure how much more crying she could take from herself today. When Keith finished talking, there was dead silence in the rom between them. At this point, she felt like she should tell him that she didn't blame him, however, she didn't want to upset him anymore. Sitting there, just looking at him, she continued to fight back the tears. "Keith, you must think I am the stupidest girl in the world." She calmly said. She took a minute to take a deep breath before going on speaking. "I understand that you have responsibilities and don't think I didn't. Secondly, I wasn't expecting you to come after me, and I was hoping you would have done that as well. And thirdly, I DO NOT blame you for anything. I was the one who left, I was the one who broke the hearts, I was the one who made life a living hell for the both of us!" She said, getting a little bit of her old stubborn witty, coming back out. When she finished, Hailey got up and just stood there, balancing herself, and looked at him. "I was and still am the problem, honey, but you are simply the victim, the hurt one, the one that deserves better. From the moment I left, I knew you had to hate me and if I came back then, I would only make things worse than they are now." She started to calm down, bit remained standing.

Alison smiled. "Well than, thank you." she said and smiled. "And since I'm shipping my car I might need a ride." she said looking at him. "Will you help me?" she asked hoping he would drive her. Alison smiled at him walking around in those little boots half country looking and half like she stepped out of the city.

"You could have come back. I would have forgiven you for three months I was in denial that it was over but you didn't call, didn't write, didn't visit. I would have been angry but not like now." he said and held her up. Why wouldn't she just sit down?

Jackson nodded and smiled. "Of course, I'll help you." he said smiling. "I would drive you anyway." He then started a brighter smile than before. As they walked, he looked at Alison and just continued to smile. He could tell that she was liking this, and that made him happy. The only thing was he kind of wished that he could convince her to stay here all the time. However, he knew the chances of that were very, very slim.

Hailey looked at him. "Well I was scared to call, I didn't think you would answer. Then if I wrote, I felt like you would have just thrown the letters away. And if I didn't visit because I felt like that would have made things completely chaotic for the both of us." She said watching him. She grabbed her crutches, using them to stand that way he didn't have to hold her up. "I tried to call, because the minute I dialed up the number, I would end the call. And letters, I have letter beyond letters in one of these boxes. After a while, I figured you just moved on, went with someone like Trixie Parker, Aubrey Wilson, or some other girl that we went to High School with that wanted nothing more than to be with you." She said with a sigh. "I messed up what we had and I feel horrible about the fact that I did that." She sat back down. She looked at her hands and just sighed, why did she have to go? They had a good life together before she decided to leave.

Alison smiled. She didn't realize this but she was giving him time to convince her why she should stay. A lot could happen in 4 days. Alison was already feeling better with just being in this small town for half a day.

Keith sighed. "Well you where wrong." he said. "Look Hailey I'm not over being hurt and until then I can't fight with you, I can't do anything to even think of trying again. But I wont move on. I can't." Keith said. "So it's been a long day and I'm going to leave now. You stay off that foot get some rest and if you need anything call, I'll make sure you get the help you need." he said and ran a hand through his hair. "I'll see you later." he said and left.

Jackson smiled at her, and then looked at the watch on his wrist. "What do you say we start heading back to my house? My mama and brother should be home soon, and I think you would like to meet them." He said with a smile. As they walked, he kept a hold of her hand, looking at her with a smile. "I'm not pressuring you into anything, but I just thought maybe you should meet some more people in this small town."

Hailey didn't say anything else. She just nodded and quietly thanked Keith for his help. When he left, she just sat there, thinking. What this a good idea? Was coming back a good thing? She had so many questions now about everything. After a while, she looked at the time and sighed. Who could she talk to about this, other than Keith? She grabbed her phone for a minute and then dialed up the Miller household, hoping Keith's mother, Bell, would answer.

Alison smiled. "Sure. But I have already met your mom... well in a way." she said and smiled. Alison smiled up at him his smile was contagious and she was glad to be staying with him. Jackson was so nice and he seemed to get her. It was nice to feel wanted.

Keith was on his way home not sure how to feel yet.
Bell was cooking in the kitchen and answered the phone. "Howdy, what can I do for ya?" she asked in her southern accent as she cooked. bell smiled as she worked. Cooking was her favorite part of the day.

"Yeah well that was my mama at the store. You need to see her when she's at home, just relaxing." He said with a grin. He loved it when she started smiling. When she smiled, it made him just feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He wouldn't say that he was in love, but he was well on his way of falling in love. This was definitely something that he's been looking for and he felt like he finally found it.

Hailey almost wanted to hang up the phone when Bell answered the phone. She took a deep breath in then out for a moment before speaking. "Hi Mrs. Miller, it's me, Hailey. I hope I didn't catch up at a bad time, but I was wondering if we could....talk...I need someone to talk too." She hoped that talking to Bell wasn't weird, but she needed someone to talk too, and she always enjoyed talking with Bell.

Alison smiled and nodded. "Oh alright." she said making her way back with him towards his truck. She was happy to just be here going this. "So Jackson tell me what should I know about your little town?" she asked. Alison looked around noticing people where going inside.

Bell smiled hearing Hailey. "Hailey! Oh it's so good to hear from you. Now is a great time and talking my dear is what you do on the phone." she teased with a hearty laugh. "What would you like to talk about?" she asked though she already knew. She had probably just seen her son and had either a long talk or a brief fight.

Jackson looked at her and then looked around at the town. What was he going to tell her about this town? He thought about it for a moment before looking back at her. "Well...we're a small town that has always been there for each other." He said with a smile as he walked with her. Jackson looked around at the people going inside, then looked at Alison again. "Lets go." He said smiling.

Hailey sighed, telling herself that it was okay. That everything was going to be okay with talking to her. "Well...I saw Keith and we talked a little. But we kind of got into it in the end. I don't know what I'm suppose to do anymore. I know things weren't going to be the same since I came back...but..." She tried her best not to get herself upset and start crying again. She sighed. "Mrs. Miller, I just miss the way things use to be."

Alison nodded. She guessed it was dinner time or something. Alison looked at the truck as they got there. "Can you help me?" she asked softly looking at him then at the truck. "It's hard in a skirt."

Bell smiled. "Awe yes, well give it time Hailey. You know Keith has always made up his own mind in his own good time but if you try to rush him he's like a cornered animal." Bell said and placed her pie in the oven. "He just has to get use to the idea that your back then he will begin to calm down."

Jackson looked at him and nodded with a smile. "Of course, darling, you know that I will help you." He said as he opened the door, helping her into the truck. Once she was inside, he closed the door and then walked over to his side, quickly getting in. When he got inside, he looked at her and smiled. "Alison, I want to tell you something." He said, getting a little closer to her. The moment he could tell that he had her full attention, he just smiled and kissed her. Nothing else was said as he pulled back and started up the truck, then headed to his house, knowing everyone should be home by now.

"I know I have to give Keith some time. I'm just wondering if coming back here was the best thing. I mean, I know it's going to be difficult for us, and I'm not looking to rush him into anything, it's just I don't know I guess...." She said, trailing off then sighed. "I think I'm just shocked that he's still here." She admitted. She moved on the couch a little as she sat there on the couch with her.

Alison looked up at him. "Yeah?" she asked and then suddenly he kissed her and she felt herself kiss back before he pulled away and started the truck. He didn't even say anything. Alison was just shocked.

Bell nodded against the phone. "You belong here Hailey. Don't second guess that and as for Keith well he's always had a hard time with change and never did so by choice. He is still here and still waiting. Like I said though just give it all time. He will let you know when he is ready."

Jackson kept a smile on his face as he drove to his house. As he drove, he looked over Alison, seeing that she was still quiet. "I shocked you....did I?" He asked, looking at her. He couldn't help but laugh a little as he watched her being a little. When they got to his road, he quickly turned down the road and started heading to the house, still wanting for her to answer.

Hailey sighed as she laid back against the couch. "I know, just give it time. I am just worried and I don't know why." She said as she sat there on the phone with her. "Can you just make sure that he's okay when it gets home tonight? He just left my house not too long ago." She explained.

Alison looked over at him and smiled. "Yes you did." she said and blushed. His lips where soft and wonderful on hers. She loved the feel of them and honestly wanted another kiss. Alison blushed at the thought. She looked at the inn and smiled. "It is beautiful." she said realizing she had left her bags in her car.

"Yeah I'll make sure and Hailey. I know you're scared to really loose him but you got to let him choose." Bell smirked heading the door open. "And there he is. "I'll talk to you later sweetie, if you need anything else don't you hesitate to call."

Jackson looked at her and smiled. "Yes it is." He said then jumped out of the truck. He walked over to her side once more, and opened her door. He gently helped her out of the car before slowly pulling her to him once again. "Well I guess I'll have to shock you again." He whispered before pulling his lips to hers once more. This time he kept the kiss a little, really letting each other get into the kiss this time. As they kissed, he wrapped his arms slowly around her waist and smiled into the kiss. This was perfect!

"I know Mrs. Miller and thank you for listening and talking. I know that if I ever have a problem that I can turn to you." She said as she smiled into the phone. "I'm glad that he got there safe. Talk to you soon." She said and then said her good byes before hanging up the phone. She sat back once she was off the phone, just letting her mind relax. Things were going to work out somehow and some way...she just had to give it time.

Alison was shocked how he kissed her again. She kissed him back her hands gripping his shirt. She kissed him back her body moving closer to him. She felt her body react to him. She couldn't believe what she was doing.

Bell smiled when she got off the phone and went to greet her son seeing her other son pulling up. "How are you?" she asked and kissed his cheek. "Fine." Keith said and sighed. Bell nodded noticing the lie. "Okay go clean up and then grab your brother and his friend for dinner." she said and then went to set the table.

Jackson continued to kiss her, not letting her go. As they kissed, he could feel her hands gripping his shirt, and he couldn't help but laugh a little bit. However, that didn't stop him for still kissing her. After another minute passed, Jackson slowly pushed back and looked at her just smiling. "That was nice." He whispered as he pressed his lips to her forehead, holding her close to him. He looked down at her once again and smiled. "Lets get inside." He smiled, walking with her, his hand still around her waist as he walked her to the house.

Hailey sat there for a little bit longer, just letting her mind wander. She then moved to a box that was right near the couch, and opened it. It was the box that she had all her DVDs in. She had set up her DVD player and TV earlier that day so she quickly made her way over and put in the DVD. She was going to watch the movie "Pure Country." As the movie played, she just smiled before trying her way into the kitchen with the crutches, where she made herself some food. She sat back down once the food was ready and started eating as she continued with the movie. When she finished her food, she sat watching Pure Country and going through some boxes.

Alison smiled and groaned as he pulled back. "Uhh yeah your right." she said and blushed. She leaned into him as they walked. She looked up at the inn and smiled. "It's beautiful." she said grinning as she looked at him and laced her fingers with his.

Keith came out and opened the door. "Jackson time for dinner. Mama said to bring your friend." he said and grinned. Keith chuckled as the girl turned bright red. "Come on in."

Jackson just looked at his brother then Alison. "See you're already welcomed inside and i haven't even said much." He laughed, still holding her as she walked with him inside. When they got inside, Jackson looked at his brother, bit didn't say a word. He wanted to ask if he saw Hailey yet, but didn't think now was the best time.

While Hailey went through her boxes, she found their school's yearbooks. Sheh had brought one each year, starting with her freshman year. She just smiled a little as she went through the books. She then looked at her phone when it rang. It was her daddy. Quickly answering it, she sat there talking with him about different things. She was trying to make time pass with everything now, and keeping her mind off Keith.
