Jackon looked at her for a moment then saw that she was wearing heels. "Well I guess before we take this walk, we should get you some new shoes. Ones that won't kill you as you walk." she said. He looked at her and just smiled. "Do you have shoes that you can switch into?' He asked softly.

Hailey looked at Keith when he saw that he didn't know, that he never asked. She took a moment to think about it, then remembered all the conversations they had about their future. "Keith...you can't lie to me." She said softly. "I know you remember what I wanted to be." She said as she put a hand to his cheek, and just looked at him, waiting to see what he was going to say now.

Alison bit her lip looking down at her shoes about to ask what was wrong with them but decided that was a stupid question, he was right, they would kill her feet. Alison looked up at him as he asked if she had other shoes and she bit her lip. "Uhh not really." she aside and frowned. "Mother believes a lady should wear heels."

Keith just looked into her eyes many emotions going through him. His jaw tightened under her hand and he nodded. "Best not to bring up the past until we have time to talk about it." he said meaning till it was the right time for him. He needed more time. Keith then went and got in the car with her and headed toward her apartment. "Old man Henry said you had an apartment above the flower shop." he said.

"Oh...okay..." He said, looking at her. "It's a good thing that you listen to you mother." He said with a smile. "I just wanted to see if you wanted to get more comfortable, since we're walking around this little town, unless you would like me to just drive you around." He stated as he stood there, looking at her. "I can take you to the local shoe store and you can get some more comfortable shoes there so we can start our walk." He winked at her with a big smile.

Hailey looked at him and nodded, when she said that Old Man Henry that she lived above the flower shop. Leave it to Old Man Hnery to tell Keith where she was living. Here she just got back into this small town and people were already talking about where she moved to and all. She couldn't help but smile a little as she thought about it. "Of course Old Man Henry would know." She said laughing. She then sat there quietly, humming a George Strait song.

Alison blushed and ended up nodding. Different shoes would be better for a walk. She had shipped her work out shoes and cloths. she hadn't thought she would need them but it turns out this would have been a better time for them then heels. Alison smiled softly. "I don't know what kind of shoes you have here." she said looking at his shoes.

Keith grinned. He nodded. "Yeah. You forgot how things get around in a small town didn't you?" Keith parked and helped her out. "How you feeling?" he asked and then started toward the door she would need to go up to. "I'll help you with anything you need and when your sick of me just tell me to get out." He smiled softly helping her up the stairs.

(I just wanted to let you know because I felt bad for being a little slow lately with replying.)
"Well I guess you're going to just have to check out the shoe store, they've got every type of shoes." He said with a smirk. He started walking to the car with her. "Lets drive there and then after that we can take our little tour of the town." He said with a charming smile as he opened the door of the truck, letting her get in.

Hailey blushed a little. "I guess I did forgot how small the town is." She said laughing. She slowly got out of the truck and started to head to her apartment, with the help of Keith. When they got up to her apartment, she pulled out her keys out. She unlocked the door, then pushed it opened. She looked at Keith before slowly hopping in with the crutches. "It'll take a lot for me to get sick of you." She said laughing as she went to sit down, but ended up somehow tripping over her crutch. She was only clumsy around Keith.

Alison chuckled as she got in for the second time. "Okay, thanks." she said and then buckled up. Jackson was such a sexy man. Everything about him made her want him. She had never felt this way before and honestly it scared her. Alison looked over at him watching him.

Keith cursed under his breath tossing himself under her Justin time to catch her. "I forgot how clumsy you are." he said and chuckled looking up at her and pulling her into hi lap so he could stand. Keith found himself wishing he could press his lips against hers.

Jackson nodded, smiling his handsome grin. "You're welcome." He spoke in his husky voice. He quickly closed the door then rushed over to his side, getting in himself. When he got in, he took a second to look at Alison and just admire her. She was such a pretty girl and he kind of felt like the luckiest man in the world right now to be spending time with her. Before letting his mind get the best of him, he just smirked a little then turned his attention to the truck. Once he started the truck, he drove them over to the shoe store and parked right in front of it. "We're here!" He announced with a smile on his face, looking over at Alison once again. "Now, lets get your a nice comfortable pair of shoes, then I'll show you off to the town." He said with a big grin before getting out of the truck, and swiftly made his way over to the passenger's side. He opened the door then grabbed her hand, helping her out of the truck. Once they were both out, he started walking with her into the store, still holding her hand.

Hailey started blushing a little as she fell into Keith's lap instead of the floor. Why was she only clumsy around Keith and not everybody? To every other person that she met, including her ex-fiancée, she was the least accident prone person they ever met. She could take on anything and everything in the world and never have any accidents or incidents. However, that all seemed to be different when she was around Keith. The only thing was that she didn't think she was like this with him all the time. The only time that she could remember being this clumsy around him was in the beginning of their relationship, when she liked him but hadn't told him yet. Then when they did get together, she was still a little clumsy in the beginning because she couldn't believe that it was actually happening, that she was actually going with this amazing, incredible, truly handsome man. She felt like all those feelings she had in the beginning back when they were in high school were starting to come back, and she didn't know if she should fight them or try to work with them. She looked back at Keith and just giggled a little. "Yeah...that's me....Little Miss Clumsy." she said, holding back some tears that came out of nowhere. Gosh, she was such an idiot for leaving him and now here she was, making herself look like a fool once more, knowing that he problem just wants to move on from her and all.

Alison smiled as they got to the store noticing most of the shoes they had where cowboy boots. She had seen people wear them but never tried them on herself. Mama said cowboy boots where for the middle class. And they weren't middle class. Alison looked at Jackson. He didn't feel any different then her maybe just a little more honest and straight. Alison bit her lip wondering if all mama said was wrong. A little lady walked up to them and smirked. "Jackson Miller." she smirked. It was one of several women in the town that he dated that never really got over him.

Keith smiled and stroked her hair softly. "There there don't cry we'll get some ice on your foot." he said and picked her up setting her on the couch. He walked around finding her kitchen and going through her cupboards until he found what he needed and came back out sitting at her feet and lifting them gently and scooted under. H placed them in his lap then placed the ice on her ankle. It was easy for him to feel that old emotion for her. He did still love her but he was scared and Keith just wasn't ready to take that risk again yet. When he was ready she would be the first to know. For now he wanted to be friends and he didn't know how long that would last. He just hoped in the mean time she wouldn't kill herself with clumsiness.

Jackson was walking with Alison when he heard someone call his name. He turned around and saw a lady walking up to him and Alison. He quickly looked back at Alison and then the lady. "Lee Ann." He said, looking at her. "Can I help you with something?' He asked, hoping this woman wouldn't take to long. Things didn't work out between them for a reason, and no he found someone who he feels he instantly clicked with and no one was going to change his mind on that. As he stood there, he didn't let go of Alison's hand though, if anything, he held it a little tighter, but not too tight to where he would hurt her.

Hailey wiped away her tears as Keith got up to get her some ice for her foot. When he came back, she was almost 100% back to normal - well with the not being so emotional part. She looked at him once more and just smiled a little. "Keith...I'm sorry for seeming so emotional." She said with an apologetic look spread across her face. "I really don't know what's up with me. I can't ever remember being this emotional over things or getting upset so easily." She said as she sat there on the couch. She took a moment to take in a deep breath and just laid her head back for a moment. As she sat there, she looked at Keith. "Remember our first concert together. We were going to see George Strait." She said with a smile. That was one little secret that Keith would never let her live down - her crush on the King of Country Music.

Lee Ann grinned. "I work here Jackson I should be asking you that." she said sparing a confused looking girl a small glance. She chuckled. "You ain't from around here." she said looking at her shoes. "Is this what get's your kicks off Miller?" she asked and smirked. "Last I remember it was honkytonking up in the hay bales and skinny dipping for frogs." she said talking about those times they had hooked up. Lee Ann smirked crossing her arms
Alison looked between the woman and Jackson but when she started to talk about things that where quiet suggestive her eyes opened and she blinked suddenly feeling a little sick. Alison was frozen in place and she looked like she didn't know whether to bolt or to kick someone. She bit her lip as Lee Ann took her hand pulling her from Jackson's grip and lead her over to the shoes. "You look about a 6 and a half." she said and handed her some sweet little cowboy boots. "Try them on." she said and walked back to Jackson. "Sweet little miss don't know anything about you and from the look of her she would run if she did. Looks like you should stick to your own kind."

Keith nodded just listening. He patted her leg to comfort her but otherwise was just fine sitting there. When she mentioned his first concert he nodded and grinned. "I thought I was never going to live up to that man in your eyes." he said and chuckled then ran a hand through his hair. "Guess I was right." Keith sighed. Thinking about the past was hard but it was all they had. "Why don't we talk about what happened while you where gone?" he asked just curious as to why she never brought it up.

Jackson carefully watched Lee Ann as she took Alison over to the shoes and handed her a pair to try on. He did his best not to pay any attention to Lee Ann, and focus on Alison. When she made the comment about him sticking to his own kind, he just shook his head. He said nothing for a moment then thought about what he wanted to say, then looked at Lee Ann. "Lee Ann, listen, even though things didn't work out between us, doesn't mean that I won't find someone. And just because Alison isn't you, doesn't mean that I don't like her, because I like her - a matter of fact, I like her a lot." he said then walked over to Alison, watching her as she tried on the boots Lee Ann handed to her. He just smirked a little. "Those make you look so cute. Like a true Cowgirl." He said with his cheesy grin.

Hailey laughed a little. "Well, George Strait is a hard man to top off, but you did it believe it or not." She said with a small laugh. she then sighed softly, hearing what he then said about not living up to that man in her eyes. She simply shook her head, disagreeing with that statement. "That's not true Keith. You did it, a matter of face you topped off any man in the whole world." She said softly. She brushed some hair out of her face as she sat there looking at him. "Well...while I was gone, things for me just changed...I guess. When I started nursing school, things were alright, however, I wasn't sure if I was completely happy with my career decision. To be honest with you, I really chose to become a nurse because that would let me do what I always want to do, which is helping people who are sick, and along with that, I would have something to fall back on, if my dream of being a Cowboy's wife didn't work out or even happen." She explained. "Then I met Lucas, who was on his way of graduating college and becoming a doctor. At the time, I was a sophomore in college, just turned 20, and he was turning 29. I thought things were going good, especially when he proposed at the beginning of my senior year. But things just didn't seem right after that. I realized that this city life with that man wasn't for me, especially since we had so many arguments on certain things...marriage, how we were going to live, anything and everything you could think of." She said. "After our last fight we had, I called Daddy and told him I was coming back home and here I am, back in this little town that I love." She said softly.

Lee Ann got all red in the face watching him walk away from her again. She shook her head. Oh she would tell that girl a story or two to scar her off.
Alison smiled up at Jackson as he came over and looked down at her stockings with the cowboy boots. Alison just smiled as she giggled. "You think so?" she asked. "I don't know what your suppose to wear them with but these stockings just don't feel right." she said and pulled a perfectly manicured foot out of the boot. "I think it fits right. I can't tell." she said blushing.

Keith was kind of shocked when she said he beat any man. It didn't seem that way when she left. He still felt like second class to her. Keith bit his lip and listened to her tell him about her big city life. He nodded though he didn't tell her what happened with him. She probably didn't want to know the heartbreak he suffered. Keith sighed. "Well that's some story Hailey." he said and pulled the ice off her ankle letting it heat up a little figuring it would be cold.

Jackson nodded. "You look beautiful." He said once again. He looked at Lee Ann for a moment, just giving her to look to help Alison. Once things were set, Jackson looked at Alison. "Ali, sweetheart, Lee Ann will ring those up for you." He said with a smile as he gently took the shoes from her and handed them to Lee Ann. "Oh and Lee Ann, please use this card." He said, handing her his credit card. He was going to pay for Alison's shoes, whether she liked it or not. While Lee Ann was getting things rung up and all, Jackson looked at Alison and smiled. "Before you say anything, I don't mind paying for your shoes. Think of it as a Welcome gift, along with the lunch we just had." He just smiled after that, watching her.

Hailey shook her head. "I don't know if it's really some story. If you ask me, I feel like it's a ridiculous story. I should have never left this town in the first place. I'm a Country Girl in my heart, not some City Girl. Those girls go to clubs and party constantly. Me, that's not me in anyway." She said softly She moved a little when he pulled the ice off her ankle. "Thank you for taking the ice pack off." She said with a smile. She then looked at Keith and just smiled a little at him. He always made her smile there was no doubt about that.

Alison was about to say something but he stopped her and she nodded.
Lee Ann tossed in some socks knowing the girl wouldn't get it anyways and Jackson didn't see how innocent the girl was. She didn't get anything she hadn't been trained to do. It was sad really. She rung it up then let them get their things.

Keith nodded. He was quiet as she talked. He agreed that she belonged here but he only wished she would have figured that out before she had left. Keith ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah." he said setting the ice pack down.

Jackson smiled when he saw that she was going to say something but didn't. When Lee Ann was done, he took the bag and walked with Alison out to his truck. "Here you go sweetheart." He said with a smile, handing the shoe bag over to her. "Lets get those little boots on you and then we'll take a little walk. He said with a smile.

Hailey looked at Keith when he saw yeah. She felt like she kind of said something wrong, but at the same time, she didn't think she said anything wrong now. "Keith." She said softly as she looked at him. "I'm sorry." She said softly, and that was the only thing that she said before sitting there, watching him.

Alison smiled and took out the socks smiling gently. She nodded and took off her stockings then puled the socks on then her boots. She placed her things in the bag then smiled. "I'm ready."

Keith bit his lip. "Why didn't you just tell me you had to go? I wouldn't have been happy but it would have saved me from running through the airport trying to catch you." he said and frowned.

Whens he announced that she was ready, Jackson looked at her and smiled. "That's awesome, and you look so cute." He said with a smile as he walked over to her. "Let this tour and walk begin." He proudly announced as he grabbed her hand as they started walking.

Hailey looked at him. "I wanted to go to pursue my career..." She said, looking at him. "I thought about coming back, but after things happened, I didn't think coming back would have been the right thing....at the time." she said softly. She looked at him. "Why did you come after me completely? Flight out to get me. My dad knew where I was going."

Alison smiled and wrapped her hand around his arm and walked with him. "Thanks for the shoes." she said and smiled kind of amazed she was in boots. Alison grinned as she walked noticing quickly the looks she was getting though.

"But you didn't even tell me you wanted a career. Last I knew you wanted to be a teacher until you had kids." he said and frowned. Now she was saying he hadn't done enough and he got up putting the ice back on her feet as he gently laid them on the couch running a hand through his hair pacing. "I had responsibilities here and this is my home." he said and shook his head. "I have to go." he said.

Jackson nodded and smiled. "You quite welcome." He said as he sat there, looking at her. They started their little tour and he just smiled. "This is our nice little town." He spoke, showing her all the little shops and such that were around. As they walked, Jackson looked at Alison and just smiled. "Alison, I don't know if I asked you this before but is there anyone special in your life? Because I know this might seem a little forward, but you are just so...amazing...whether you realize it or not, and I would really like to get to know you more." He explained as they walked down the sidewalks of the town.

When he got up, Haley moved, taking the ice pack off her foot. There she goes, messing up things once again. She felt horrible about it, and wished she'd just stop screwing things up. "Wait, Keith!' She called out as she got herself off the couch. She quickly, swiftly, and gracefully hopped over to him. She hopped in front of her door, and stood in front of it. "If we're going to talk about this, lets get this out of the way. We need to talk now." She said. That was one thing with Hailey, she could be stubborn.
