Hijacked

Welp, I had time so I decided to get all the details of my character done :L I know I wrote a lot. I'm just an overachiever who doesn't pay attention in math class and writes this stuff up instead. Heh.

Isabella Castro

Age: 18

Physical Appearance: Petite, full blonde curls, blue eyes, round and innocent face.

Personality: Timid, easily scared, inexperienced, hasn't seen much of the world, insists on taking care of everyone.

Background: Bella was born into a family with three significantly older brothers, automatically labeling her as the fragile baby of the family. Her mother and father held her hand through life, not giving her much freedom to experience and experiment like her peers were doing as they got older, making her a bit too innocent compared to everyone else. This caused her to be a bit of a loner while she was in school, and she spent most of her days studying alone in the library, shyly staying away from everyone else. She found herself focusing on dance instead, channeling all the feelings she couldn't share with friends into lyrical and ballet dance. She ended up excelling in the sport, competing and performing all over the country until her senior year of high school, when she got a full scholarship to a performing arts school in the UK. She is now in her first year at this school, dancing alongside the best of the best and causing her to become even more timid because of it.

Why she's on the plane: This is her first time on an airplane completely by herself, and she's visiting home from the UK for the first time. Planes also tend to make her nervous since it's such a closed space. (Just thought that would make it more interesting hahaha)

Oh no, I didn't want to make anyone feel behind I just saw it in my drafts and was like "hm I don't want to do piece wise function graphs, so I'll finish this instead of math homework" haha

I felt behind anyway, so it's fine. It's just motivated me to actually do something today. Oh, eurgh, maths. I'd have done the exact same, haha!

I will be writing up my character tomorrow, I swear (or this week, seriously!).

Pfft, I spent my senior year (or what I assume was my senior year - American schooling systens confuse the living daylights out of me) drinking coffee in the library and playing solitaire so you're not the only one that was behind. I pretty much learned all of my music pieces the week before the exam. Seniors don't study, it's not allowed.

In fact, I'm going into my third year of university and I still don't study. Oops.

Here's my character!

Matthew Cooper

Age: 42

Physical Appearance: Slightly overweight. Dark, floppy hair and brown eyes.

Personality: Cynical, not easily scared, impulsive, cares deeply about others despite not showing it.

Background: Matthew’s dream had always been to get to the rank of police detective. As an only child of an upper-class family, he was given anything he wanted and upon his entry to the police force, many assumed his parents had bought him in. Over the years, he managed to prove himself to his fellow colleagues, at the expense of his wife and daughter. Work always came before them and before long he found he had pushed them too far away to ever mend the bonds. After the divorce and his ex-wife’s move to the US, Matthew has become bitter and withdrawn, and spends all of his spare time working.

Why he’s on the plane: Matthew is taking a trip to see his daughter, the same trip he embarks on once every year for her birthday. This year is her eighteenth birthday, so he feels like he should do something important to celebrate it.

Got mine

Jamie Hillington

Age: 23

Physical Appearance: Physically fit, blemish-free skin. Green eyes and blonde, shaggy hair.

Personality: Cocky, concerned about himself, likes victimising himself, doesn't care much for other people/will sacrifice someone in order to better himself.

Background: Born to a rich family, Jamie has had a silver spoon in his mouth for his entire life. He was troublesome during his teenage years, often going out until late hours and being brought home by the police for underage drinking or damaging public property. Despite all this, his parents' money has been able to help him out of every situation he's found himself in, ultimately leading to him living in an expensive flat and getting an allowance from his mother while his father is grooming him to be able to work for his uncle's company in order to have the knowledge and work ethic to take over his father's job when he decides to retire (as of the beginning of the story, the grooming isn't going too well).

Why he's on the plane: Him and a bunch of mates are on a holiday for booze, girls and sun.

I'll add yours (and my own) character to the main page in a minute. I completely forgot to add my own character to the main page. I'm a genius. Totally agreeing with Yasmin though, my character is going to hate your character. He's going to get so irritated with him all of the time.

Carson Mathews

Age : 19

Physical Appearance : Of Mexican-American Decent. Greyish-Hazel Eyes, Slim, but Fit. Dark-Brown Dreadlocks.

Personality : Quiet, Loyal, Compassionate, yet can turn icy and shut someone out if they betray him.

History: Carson was the only child in his family, and it was just he and his mother. Knowing that rasing a child alone wasn't easy, Carson promised his mother that when he came of age, he would take care of her, and he did just that. It started out with him just goofing around with music, making random beats at the age of 16. But two years later, his talents flourished. Carson started to work for a record company, producing the music for their artists at the age of 18. Everything had been going well for Carson, until tragedy struck.

Only five months in, working with the record company, Carson found out that his mother had been fighting Cancer for three years now. He only found out two late, about a month later, his mother passed away.

Why he's on the trip : He's on vacation to clear his mind.

We can always just do the order we came up with our characters in. Which gives me anxiety because that makes me first but I will deal with it as best I can

Apologies for being AWOL. Life was quite hectic for a while but I'm officially on summer break from uni now, so we'll get as much as possible done from here on in and hopefully, we can have this up and running by the time it hits the end of July!

Okay, so we've got all four characters, plus bios. That's two things to cross off of the list.

Does anyone have any specific preference as to whether they want to post first or not? I'd be okay with going first if it's going to cause anyone else any hassle or worry. We can also do what Yasmin suggested and get everything up and running in the order the characters were posted here in, but it's entirely up to you guys. I'm cool with either!

Also, we should decide solidly on what we're aiming to do with the plane. Are we going with a bomb threat, or do you all want to do something different? Again, I'm pretty open on that one as long as something happens when they're stuck over the ocean or something.

And last thing for us to try and do (for this post anyway) is to come up with either a working title or a solid title so I can make a story page and add you all as authors for the meantime! Anyone got any suggestions?

I like the idea of going in the order we created our characters.

So, with this whole hijacking business, we're having an overnight flight where this occurs. Will it just happen in the air or are we going to have the hijackers make the plane go off course and land somewhere isolated?? If it's the bomb threat, where would they be heading because I'm going to assume they don't just want to blow the plane up over the ocean? UNLESS THEY DO BOTH. Like, they hijack over the ocean, gain control and have a terror filled night for all passengers, but they also turn off their tracker (/whatever planes have), land somewhere and one or two hijacks take some passengers off the plane, it goes back into the air and continue on course with the remaining passengers and hijacks, to the airport where they plan to blow it up as it's landing (for a lot of damage??) and with less hijacks, there could be more chance for them to gain back control?? Then the ones that are on land they take somewhere important (maybe fictional important?) and strap them with bombs and attempt to blow it up??

I don't know, I've just watched a lot of programmes that involve hijackers and captives being rigged with explosives and I just have so many terrible ideas.

Okay, so is everyone else good with order of characters?

I actually adore that idea, Kayleigh! It's like a double-edged sword - attempt to blow up the airport and then while everyone else is panicking about that, hit somewhere else. It works perfectly.

I do too, don't worry about it. Terrible ideas are my speciality.
