Will You Let Me In?

Hailee's were constantly drifting back up to the clock; it was all she could do to not jump up out of her seat and find Emmett. She begged the bell to ring and when it finally did, she jumped up and quickly collected her things. She made a mad dash for the door and scanned the halls as she made her way to her locker.

David made his way to the classroom, slowly. The blush on her cheeks haunted his mind. He barely managed to concentrate on the lesson the teacher was droning on about. He didn't understand the new feeling that had overcome him. He was used to being in control; always leading and knowing what to do. He wanted to talk to his sister, ask her what to do with these new feelings but he didn't have time.

Emmet put his stuff in his locker grabbed what he needed and headed to Hailee's as fast as he could when he saw her he smiked and walked up to her tickling her side. "How was art? Do I get to see the picture?" He asked and smiled. Just thinking about spending an entire day with her alone up in the beauty of nature made him feel a flutter in his stomach that happened rarely and whe it did he was always happy. He planned on getting her number at lunch.

North felt the tention rising as she saw time growing closer to lunch. She felt lightheaded and her stomach was in knots. It even almost felt like her head was spinning. She heard the bell ring and for the first time sat there not knowinb wjer to do but eventually she got up and headed to her locker. She was thinking that it was his reaction that made her feel this way. How is it that the moment he opened up to her she let the wall drop so he could peek into his secerate gaurden of a heart. North licked hee dry lips grabbed hee aet things and her lunch things and tuened not knowing wherw theu said they would meet. Maybe he would find her. But then the doubt started to creep in. What if he left her there waiting so he could joke about it wih his friends later? North shook her head and looked around nervously gnawing at her lip.

Hailee giggled, not expecting the tickling that had come. "Nope. Not until it's finished and probably not even then either. I'm not sure it'll be perfect enough." She gnawed at her lip, thinking of the drawing of him in her sketch pad. She doubted she would ever capture his beauty on paper.

David scanned the halls, trying to spot North. Standing on his tiptoes, looking high and low. He started worrying at his bottom lip, one hand raked through his hair and the other tugged at his ear. They were nervous habits he had developed as a child. He started to worry that she had forgotten him, possibly on purpose, and headed towards the woods where he had spotted her the day before in search of her.

Emmet laughed. "You don't have to be or do perfect things Hailee. You just have to be yourself. So I hope one day you show me." He said and took her hand headed out somewhere more quiet and reserved. He say down with her and smiled. "So I need your number for this weekend." He said and grinned. Emmet pulled out his phone unlockong it and handing it to her.he smiled watching her. She was amazing.

North had given up fearing the worst and he headed to the woods where mayne she could be alone. It wasn't like he would remember anyways. She slipped in listening carefully just in case. She sighed and sat on a fallen tree, the same as the day before. She sighed puttk g her head in her lap. She had been so stupid to think that he would actually be into her, wanting to know her even through the hard times. North sighed and pulled out her sandwich starying to nibble on it. And as usual it tasted like crap.

Hailee laughed, of course she had to be perfect. Everything about her life style said so. She took his phone quietly and typed her phone number out. "I'm not supposed to be on my phone after 11 o'clock," she mumbled, embarrassed. "It's a stupid rule that my parents have for David and I. And trust me when I say they check; David got grounded for a week once."

David tried to ignore the limbs attempting to snag his clothes and still be quiet so he wouldn't disturb the woodland creatures. He spotted North sitting on the fallen tree and he let his breath, one he hadn't known he had been holding, puff out. "There you are," he sighed, "I was beginning to worry that you were hiding from me." He gave her a timid smile, knowing that she had a very thin line that he could cross at any moment.

"Got it no phone calls after 11." Emmet chuckled and pocked his phone and scooted closer looking down ay jer. His eyes smoldered and he was her close to her. "So what are they going to think you you take a weekend of hokkie with me?" He asked and chuckled hoping she would back down now. Emmet smiled and let his finger, on the side that he couldn't see! glided over the side of her neck a few times. Emmet wanted to see how she reacted and stuy her face if she did.

North looked up and turned bright red. "So did I..." She said and put her hood down but kept her sleeves covering her arms. She had stood up at some point and but her lip looking at the log then his. She made a gesture for him to sit down. Once he came to sit with her she sat again. "Uhh so..." she let out a nervous sigh. "Sould we do something or talk or how do theses things go?" She asked having never invited someone into her privet life. North bit the inside of her cheek as her fingers nervously twinned and untwinneddrom eachother. She looked down at them at a loss for words, or ideas.

"Well, if they found out that I was ditching with a boy then they would most likely freak and give me a speech about teen pregnancy. I'm not going to lie to them though, I'm just gonna leave the bit about you being a male out." Her pulse jumped nervously as he stroked her throat. She didn't know what one was supposed to do in these types of situations but felt the sudden urge to lean, to feel his breath on her lips, to feel her lips gliding against his, instead she started the gnawing on her lip again. It seemed to be her new favorite thing to do.

"Uh..." David drummed his fingers on the tops of his knees, silently. "I'm not entirely sure myself. Being slightly closed off tends to have its consequences." He chuckled and glanced to see if she found any humor in his statement.

Emmet smiled and he rubbed her cheek gently with the back of his finger turning her even closer into his arms. he once again reached up pulling her lip from her teeth feeling his heart hammering. He was so close now that he could feel their breaths colliding. he smirked and pulled back digging in his bag and taking out his lunch bitting into an apple. He leaned back trying to make his boy stop shaking and his heart stop trying to jump out of her chest. "You should eat before the bell rings." he said nonchalantly. Emmet smiled and took a long drink from his water.

North gulped. "Well what would you do if it wasn't me? Or what would you have done if I kept pushing you away?" she asked feeling like she was rambling. But she was reaching for any kind of conversation because this was weird and hard and she just wanted to run.

Her breath came out in a rush as he backed away; she hadn't even realized she'd been holding it. "Yeah," she mumbled and pulled out the sandwhich that had been prepared for her. She watched him out of the corner of her eye, wishing he would come closer to her again. The anticipation was killing her. She wanted to know what it felt like, the sensation of two pairs of lips moving against one another, the feeling of teeth clashing and being without breath.

"Well, if it wasn't you," he took a moment to think of what he normally did, "Either I would ignore you completely or making stupid small talk to appease my parents. I'm not that much of a social butterfly. I tend to keep up a pretty good facade for appearances. I'm a mystery some would say, I guess that's how I attract idiotic girls like Marilyn." He shook his head thinking about the note from earlier. "If you had kept pushing me away, well I suppose I might be arguing with you. Or punching something. Maybe a little of both." He flashed his pearly whites at her.

Emmet wanted their first kiss to be memorable and he wanted to be her boyfriend when it happened, not just some guy she was going out with. But her lips where so enticing and her eyes pleaded with him nut he had to resist. He wanted to do things right with Hailee. Emmet ate his lunch in silence with her just enjoying her company. And he watched her. It might be weird but he couldn't help it. She was like a falling star that you had to watch and make a wish on.

North frowned blushing. "I don't like violence, and I don't like to be grabbed." She peeked at him from the corner of her eye to see if he gor the hint that when he first meet her he had grabbed her and he had done a lot of that but he was slowly getting better. "Okay so if you aren't a people person, what do you do for fun?" North asked and pulled her knees closer to her chest hugging them then nibbling on some food she dug out of a bag.

"So, do you have anything planned for our little adventure?" Hailee asked, not doing well with the silence. It was something she was accustomed to but had never liked. That's why she didn't complain about the piano lessons; they filled the otherwise boring afternoons with the beauty of notes.

"Sorry," David's mind flashed to yesterday, "I wasn't trying to be harsh. Nor to grab your arm so roughly. I suppose I can say I did make up for it though; I mean, I did kiss your forearm and all." He could feel the blood rising on his cheeks and looked downwards. It wasn't like him at all, to be like this. "As for fun, I do what my parents want. Which, honestly, isn't really any fun. There's lessons, sports, and more lessons. The occasional party they throw, which is typically boring and just for appearances. Sometimes, Hailee and I sneak off into the garden and I let her draw me and we talk. That's as fun as it gets."

Emmet smiled. "A few surprises. But I do suggest you wear good shoes, hiking shoes if you got them. You could also bring your sketch pad or a camera." He said shrugging and smiled. "So Hailee tell me something. What's with always being busy? Are you trying to keep people out or fill up emptiness?" He asked and set his food down looking at her. Emmet usually didn't ask hard questions but he wanted to know Hailee more then anyone before her.

North bit her lip as he mentioned her arm. She pulled at her sleeves again. She listened to his family life and frowned. "Wow that's sad. Sounds like you need to get a little more comfortable breaking the rules." North thought of how stiffling that would be but it sounded similar to her own life, but he was safe. She poked his rib to be sure. When he didn't flinch like it hurt she knew he was safe. She on the other hand was moving into dangerous times. They had been nice to long and she was expecting something to happen. North smirked at the look he gave her. She blushed and looked away. North was always a little odd and never explained herself.

"Okay, being secretive then. Being the child of my parents, I have the appropriate attire for anything you can think of." She grinned at him and started nibbling on her sandwich, giving herself time to think about his question. "I suppose part of it is because my parents want me to do all the things I do. The other part is because I don't really know how to do anything else. Being a kid and having fun was never on the todo list." Her grin had disappeared at this point, she picked at the groves in the table.

"Breaking the rules?" He gave out a harsh sarcastic laugh. "My parents would die. I'm not sure how they would punish me but I imagine it would be done dramatically." David replied bitterly. He let his eyes wonder back over to her. "What made you decide to even speak to me?" His eyes were filled with curiosity.

Emmet frowned and took her hand on the table. "Well meet me. I'm the fun guy and I will make sure you habe a good time. But I know your parents wont like it so they wont like me but if you think that it is worth it then stick with me kid." He winked as he teased. Emmet really wanted a good life for her, one that wasn't always filled with busyness and hard work. He had no problem with either but Hailee needed a break, she needed to be a kid. "So I know you have probably exceded high school by now credit wise but what class standing are you?" He asked not letting her hand go but she could take it if she wanted.

"You where real with me, and you have been through something in your life that I think you might be able to understand what I go through. It's not like our situations are the same but you're the first person that had something similar and wouldn't leave me alone even after I pushed you away. You had already determined in your mind we where going to be friends." She said though guessing he had been thinking a little more then friends but she didn't want tjem to get ahead of themselves.

"I like the idea of having you around. You're fun, nice, and sweet." Not to mention cute, but she was going to leave that bit out. "I still have some highschool classes I have to attend to. Though, most of them are advanced. I take some college courses. If you mean what grade am I in, would it sound awful if I say I can't remember? I take a course from all sorts of grades and I honestly can't keep track anymore."

"Huh.. I'm glad I didn't give up after all." A smile spread across his lips. "I suppose you don't want to talk about your situation yet and I suppose I'm okay with that. As long as you don't go pushing me out, buttercup." He chuckled lightly, hoping she wouldn't freak at him calling her buttercup.

Emmet chuckled. "Yeah that is kinda bad. So how long do you think you will stay in high school?" He asked and smiled. He couldn't belwive hpw stressed out this beauty queen was and he wished he could take the world off her shoulders longer then for just a few hours.

North rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Your right on one thing I am not telling you a thing yet." She said and shrugged. As for pushing you out well I haven't decided yet. I don't have a reason to right now." North said and sighed finishing her lunch. "Well what do you do for fun? I mean you have to have aomehing you enjoy or you would go nuts."

Sighing, she replied, "I don't know. A year? Maybe two. I'm only sixteen and I'm more highly eduatcated than your freshman in college." Her gaze traveled to his face, he wasn't hard to read, and she could tell that he thought it was too much for her. "You don't have to worry about me. I know I'm tiny and I come off as pretty frail, but I'm tougher than I look."

"Well, I like to play guitar and sing. I've wrote a couple songs," David said, rather nervously, moving the dirt around with his feet. It was something he didn't typically share with other people but he felt as if he could open up to North, even if she did want to keep her secrets.

Emmet nodded. "No doubt you are tough, but it's your fun bone I am worried about." He winked teasingly. "You're a sixteen year old cheerleader that if she smiled at someone in the hall would have a groupie that would do anything for you." He smirked. Emmet chuckles. "You may not know this but you are the girl ever girl wants to be and every boy wants to date. You need to enjoy these last uears because pretty soon the real world will kick in and you will realize that though, you are smart, successful, beautiful and everything your parents wanted you will be alone, unhappy, and combletly bored. So I know you can do it but I don't think you should." Emmet shrugged. "But what do I know I am just a normal guy." He said trying to be real but not hurt her feelings. He hoped she didn't take it as an attack but his desperate cry to pull her out of that future.

North smiled. "I like music. So are you any good?" She teased and hugged her knees. It was nice to be able to talk with him like this. North tugged at rhe tips of her hair gwntly and bit her lip. She heard the bell and frowned. It only meant one hour closer to going back to that place. She wished she didn't have to go. The display of emotions quickly played over her face as she stood. "Well tomorrow same time and place?" She asked though she had a class with him later.

"Yeah, I suppose. I also guess I'm just not that worried. I only have to achieve enough to appease my parents and then I'm allowed to live the life I want. I know they just want the best for me. I always figured there was no need to go looking for friends or anything else because no one handles my life style very well. I knew, when the time was right, that someone would step up and be brave enough to take on the challenge that is me." She bit her lip gently and looked down, clasping her hands in her lap.

"I like to believe I'm pretty good," he grinned, "I've never really played in front of anyone." He watched her face closely as she asked him to meet there again. "Sure thing," he said aloud. "Though, I will see you in class—twice—before then," he stated. "It's still not enough hours in the day, if you ask me." His eyes widened at the realization that he had said that out loud. Blood rose to the top of his cheeks and he looked down, desperately trying to hide it.
