Roedanya's instinctive reaction to the shock was to jerk her hand away, which seemed to be Alec's reaction as well, considering he pulled his hand away rather quickly. It wasn't a bad shock, maybe a little worse than when a person accidentally shocked themselves on something metal, but it was surprising, and it had been odd. In any case... Roedanya just put it off to simple static electricity as she passed her folded piece of paper to him.

"Sure thing," she said, soon figuring that she had been in front of the wrong set of stores since he was leading her in a different direction entirely. As they walked, they fell in step together side-by-side though both seemed careful not to touch the other -then again, that could've been her imagination. Still, getting shocked wasn't exactly a pleasant thing.

"Mmhmm. Just started school nearby around a week ago," Roedanya answered as she let him lead the way. She glanced up at him, giving him a curious look. "I'm assuming you aren't new here... and I think I would've remembered you if I had seen you in the school... so do you live here?"

The school wasn't really small, but though Roedanya was far from having actually met everyone at the school, she felt pretty confident that she had at least seen almost everyone, if not actually everyone. And having just met Alec... she could safely say that he would've stuck out in her memory. Which meant either she just hadn't run by him at all, or he didn't go to the school... which actually seemed more likely to her right then.
Daniel actually got the groceries done pretty early. His mood must have been infectious or something, because he coul'dve sworn it was the fastest he'd ever gotten food and then gotten out of the store. But his arms were so full of crap by the time he got out, without any sign of Alec of course, that he had to either just take everything back or find somewhere to wait on his brother since he definitely wasn't leaving the groceries alone anywhere.

Paranoia got to him in the end, and he ended up going to find a bench, soon finding out that absolutely none of them were unoccupied. The only one with any space at all for him to sit also just so happened to have a certain golden-haired girl sitting on it. Perfect.

But Daniel headed over anywhere, not even asking if he could sit down. He didn't take up so much room that she would be crowded or anything, after all. After sitting down, he then set his bags down on the ground around his legs and let out a heavy sigh as he crossed his arms behind his head. How fucking long did it take for someone to find toilet paper and toothpaste, anyway? If he hadn't had the groceries to think about, Daniel would've gone to look for Alec. But he didn't... because once again... not leaving the bags and not taking them with him.

"Perfect." This time muttered out loud.

Alec shook his head as they walked, "No. I've lived around here for a while now, I live with my older brother Daniel. Who's around here somewhere and is probably getting annoyed that I haven't gotten what he told me to," He gave a small shrug to his shoulders, if his brother wanted he could easily come look for him.

"School is so boring, I wouldn't be able to sit in class for that long. I really don't know how you people do it," He admitted lightly shaking his head, he'd always be getting into trouble. There wasn't anything wrong with him, he didn't have any conditions or anything but he just didn't like being stuck in a room for a prolonged amount of time. He loved being outdoors and just doing what he wanted, whenever he wanted.

He stopped walking when they reached the largest store in the town, he placed his hand out letting Roedanya walk through before him. He may be a vampire but he was taught manners and usually always treated people the right way, he smiled following the red head as she stepped into the store and his hand grabbed onto a basket so she wouldn't have to carry her items in her arms.

"What's the first item that you need?" Alec asked knowing he'd pick up his items in this store as well, that way Daniel wouldn't have a reason to go off at him. He would have what they needed and he'd also have helped someone on the way, it was a win win really though Daniel most likely wouldn't see it that way. But he wasn't going to let her struggle just because his brother had problems with humans and even other creatures for that matter.
Grace was having a nice quiet time as she sat by herself on the bench, but her mood instantly flatten again when the jerk from earlier sat down beside her. They weren't sitting close together, thank goodness, but he was still right there beside her and that was bad enough.

She rolled her blue eyes when he muttered out loud, "You know what. I shouldn't be wasting my time on you, but if you were actually nice to other people then other's wouldn't avoid you." Grace didn't know why she was talking to him, but she couldn't help herself because she wanted to give him a piece of her mind even if she knew she was wasting her breath.

He seemed like the type of person who wouldn't care and what she said wouldn't affect him in the slightest, she couldn't stand people like him. She wondered if he even had any friends, she'd be surprised if he did with the act he acted with strangers. She looked around in hopes that she'd see Roedanya walking in her direction so they could get back to the school, and away from him.

"You told me you weren't doing anything," Roedanya said accusingly as Alec mentioned that apparently his older brother had sent him off on a chore. He seemed to ignore it though as they reached a store, and she shook her head a little. She did thank him though, as he held open the door for her.

"School isn't that bad, honestly. There's so much to learn... honestly, if you know the material, you don't really have to show up unless there's a worksheet or a test you need to do. Though, I believe that's frowned upon, and almost everyone just shows up everyday unless they're skipping. But there's a huge library with all sorts of new stuff for you to learn, though you have to do it on your own time. Then you get to meet a lot of interesting people as well..." she gave him a small smile as she gently took the basket that he'd picked up from him.

"Wouldn't it just be better to go by section rather than what I have on the list in order? Which you still have by the way," Roedanya nodded to the folded paper he still held in his hand. Apparently listening to the advise of a crow was a good idea, surprisingly enough. She hadn't really expected it to go over well, and she was surprisingly glad to have been proved wrong.
Daniel had closed his eyes, fully prepared for the inevitable wait, and soon he heard the girl beside him talking. If she hadn't said something so funny, he might've actually ignored her, but then... she had said something hilarious, and it was just a natural course of action that he laugh. It was a full, truly amused laugh too, though it bordered slightly on the 'hysterical' side of things.

When he was finally still again, chest still rumblings with the remnants of the laugh, he looked at her. "You actually believe what you're saying, don't you?" he asked with a small chuckle. "About the only thing you got right there is that you shouldn't waste your time on me..." His lips twitched as he fought back a smile. "I don't like people, Goldy, and I can only wish they'd all avoid me. Nice talk though."

He settled back comfortably into the position he'd been in before he had laughed so hard and once again wondered where his brother was since Alec should've been back by now. Daniel didn't particularly trust the kid not to get in trouble, and he was worried that by waiting, he was somehow inadvertently letting something happen to his brother.

"I'm not really doing anything, I have to get two things. That isn't going to take a long time," Alec assured her quickly so there wasn't a reason for her to tell him to leave, he was actually enjoying his time with Roedanya even though they still hardly knew each other.

He listened to her speak about school and it did make him wonder if he was missing out on anything, although if he did chose to do anything like attend school or just get school worksheets. He'd never hear the end of it from Daniel, his brother believed that they had to take care of themselves and school was a huge waste of time. Alec simply went along with whatever his brother said or thought.

"Sounds like you enjoy going to school then, I still don't think I'd last long there." He knew he wouldn't last, he wasn't the type to enjoy learning or being surrounded by people he didn't know or care for. "Well let's get going then," He grinned at her as he lightly waved the piece of paper that he was still holding in his fingers, he looked down at her handwriting and quickly looked over everything that she needed.

He started leading her through the store and down an aisle that held items that she needed, "Hopefully after today it won't be the last time that I see you" He spoke to her softly knowing full well that could come across as creepy, but he did want to see her again and he wanted to let her know that. She had a chance to let him down nicely if she didn't want to see him, although he hoped that she wouldn't. She was interesting to him and he had a feeling that she has been through more than normal people their age, her beauty was simply a bonus.
Grace sat there and watched him laugh, he was laughing at her and what she said to him. She made herself stay calm on the outside but inside, she wanted to scream and get as far away from him as she possibly could. The urge to use her magic on him was strong, she wanted to so badly but knew she'd get into big trouble at school and with her Mom so she exhaled slowly as she stayed in control on herself.

"You keep doing that and you'll end up alone, no one will want to be around someone so negative and rude. Someone should have taught you manners," She couldn't help herself, he had gotten on her nerves so easily. She turned her body slightly to the side, so she wasn't facing him.

How anyone could be so rude was beyond her, even if he didn't like people didn't give him a right to treat people like shit. She hated people like him, she strongly believed in treating others in the way you wanted to be treated.

"Okay, so long as I'm not getting you in trouble with your brother," Roedanya allowed as he quickly assured her that he really wasn't doing much. In truth, she actually didn't quite want him to leave quite yet if she was being honest with herself, though that didn't mean she wanted to get him in trouble either.

"Well, you never know if you don't try. I'll agree that school isn't for everyone, but it should at least be attempted by everyone," she told him as he led her where she needed to be. As they came across things she needed, she would pause to pick the items up, but otherwise was sort of enjoying just walking and talking.

He made the comment about the possibility of seeing her again, then, and Roedanya paused, silent for a few moments as they continued to idly walk down various aisles. Then she gave him a smile that was a bit shy and didn't hold much of the confidece she had shown while following Corvus' advice. "I guess that depends... since you don't go to school and I don't think I'll be here much often," she finally answered. "It might just end up depending on dumb luck."
Daniel could tell, maybe just a little, that he was making her angry. But then again, he pissed off just about everyone he met, and that included his own little brother at times. It was largely just his personality which drove people to dislike him so strongly, though he had to admit on some small level, he did find the reactions to him amusing.

Honestly, Goldy's reaction was no different and possibly even funnier than the usual reactions. No one really bothered trying to warn him into being nice, or tried to dissuade him in any way than cursing him really... that or they acted scared -which was the usual.

"I can only hope, Goldy," he grunted in response to her warning, stretching out like a cat and crossing his arms behind his head as he closed his eyes and waited on Alec to show up.

"That's true, I guess" Alec shrugged his shoulders lightly as he did see her point, he waited each time when Roedanya paused to pick out whatever item she needed. He couldn't tell her that he didn't go to school because he was a vampire, she'd think he was crazy and stay away from him. That is something he didn't want to happen, he'd have to make sure that it never happened.

He looked her way when she didn't speak straight away, "I suppose that's true. Although I could come to this school and break you out" He grinned as he actually would go to see her, if that's what she wanted. "But it's fine, you don't have to see me again. You don't even know me," He brushed it off like it was nothing, she didn't seem as confidence now as they walked down another aisle. He grabbed a box of toothpaste that he always used and could see the toilet paper at the other end of the aisle.
Grace had bitten down on her bottom lip, she was getting no where with him and she honestly didn't know why she was trying. He wasn't listening to her so she was done talking to him, she'd just sit there and wait for Roedanya to finish shopping so they could go back to the school.

But then she heard him call her Goldy again, she didn't snap but she did have a name although he hadn't done anything to deserve knowing what her name was. She glanced over at him and noticed that he had his eyes closed, she slowly reached her hand over towards him. She had her hand an inch away from his stomach, she concentrated on her magic and felt it move through her body. She decided to give him a quick jolt, a golden glow came from her hand and went into his body. She then quickly turned back around and acted like she hadn't done anything, he after all didn't see her do anything.

"I know your name is Alec, you don't go to school, you probably live nearby, and you have a brother who's having you get..." she glanced at what he'd grabbed, "toothpaste, apparently," Roedanya argued with a smile. "And I know you're a semi-decent person at least, since you're so kindly helping me," she added as she picked up some toothpaste herself, as well as deodorant when they came across it, since she was running low on both.

"But by all means, go ahead and try to break me out," she laughed. "It's actually not that easy to get me away from the library, so it might be a little more difficult than you'd imagine." She gave him a small grin, surprised at herself. There was just something about him that seemed to put her at ease -much like when she'd first met Grace, actually. She wasn't particularly sure what it was, but she certainly hoped she could trust her instincts considering Corvus wasn't around to confirm anything.

After they'd finished on the toiletries aisle, they had been through the whole store. Roedanya had managed to find everything she needed there, actually, except a bag of bird food for Corvus. So after they had both bought their items -separately-, they headed to a pet store to get that last thing.
Daniel was feeling perfectly relaxed. Well, he had been, until he had felt the quick jolt of electricity that had jumped through his body. It was only slightly stronger than being strongly shocked with static electricity, but it had come out of nowhere, and it had hurt. He had come into a sitting position at once, his natural glower replaced with a somewhat confused frown as he glanced around him.

His eyes shifted to Goldy at some point, though she appeared to be pointedly ignoring him. No one else was even close enough to have done anything though, and while he was a vampire, who was he to start accusing other people of being anything other than human? At best, he'd sound crazy, honestly.

So, Daniel pretty much decided that he'd imagined it. He settled back into his previous position, eyes open and staring at the sky though, and snorted softly to himself. There was a good chance he was just being paranoid as usual, honestly. After all, even if someone nonhuman were around, it isn't as if they would risk exposing themselves to play a little prank like that. Even Alec knew better.

Alec was holding a small bag that held his toothpaste while the toilet paper was securely under his arm, "I'm more then a semi-decent person actually. And I wouldn't want to walking around town lost, besides we were going to the same store" He smiled as he liked this side of her, she was more confidence and just more sure of herself which was attractive in a girl to him.

"I may not be successful but I sure am going to try my hardest, that library can't give you everything that you need forever" He grinned hoping he could convince her to leave this library with food or something of that sort, "Although if I make my way to this school. Then it would be nice of you to pay attention to me, I made time for you." He looked at her as they made their way to the small pet store.

"You have a pet?" Alec asked slightly jealous as he was never allowed to have a pet of any kind, he had even tried to steal a puppy once when he was a child. His parents made him give the puppy back with a handwritten note, saying how sorry he was for worrying the puppy's owners.
Grace wasn't sure if her prank had worked, although she only head a snort so she figured the jolt hadn't been strong enough. Though she didn't want to cause any damage to the human, even if he was still acting like a dick to her. She only had to wait a little longer until she spotted Roedanya exiting the pet store, in which she would have gotten another bag of bird feed for Corvus.

She stood up from the bench and smiled when her friend noticed her, although she was soon smiling because Roedanya was walking beside a boy. Had he been there helping her all this time? She'd have to ask her friend and get all the details about him, although she wished that she had a nice young man to help her out with whatever she was doing.

Instead she had to be around the jerk, she stepped forward lightly as she just wanted to leave town and get back to school. She had enough of the jerk that was sitting beside her and wanted to forget about him, well she had been until she heard some noise like he was picking the bags up. If he had been waiting for someone, was that someone who was walking towards them with Roedanya beside him? She could only hope not.

"Fine, fine. Maybe I'll pay attention to you," Roedanya teased with a small smile as they headed into the store and she found the bird seed that she needed. His question about a pet made her pause though, as she considered how indignant Corvus would be if she ever actually called him that. He hated the word and ignored her for three days the only time she had ever used it to describe him.

"If you could call him that," she said with a sigh. "He's an albino crow named Corvus. More of a pain than anything else usually, actually," she settled on telling Alec, feeling pretty successful in not saying the "P" word but still answering the question.

After they left the pet store, they started wandering towards the front of the town where she was supposed to meet Grace. As she saw her roommate, she gave the other girl a smile. "Grace... do you have some sort of bodyguard or stalker you've never mentioned before?" she asked without any seriousness as a scary-looking guy with a scowl got up after Grace did and made his way over as well.
Daniel's patience was wearing thin by the time he saw his brother, and he wasn't particularly pleased with what he saw. Alec was taking so damned long because he'd gotten distracted by some little human girl? A small noise of disgust went through him as he gathered up the bags he had set down and headed over to Alec, noting that's where Goldy was headed too. He could only assume she was friends with Red.

He scowled at the girl his brother was with, one of his nastier scowls really, and not only because of the joke she had made about him being a bodyguard/stalker. "No, just here for my brother," he said curtly and turned to Alec with a look that said they were going to have words about this later for sure.

Honestly, Alec was lucky Daniel wasn't laying into him right here about what he was doing. "Time to go," he said with a voice that indicated any arguments would be unappreciated and ignored.

Alec was more than intrigued in this pet that Roedanya had, a crow was a different animal for a human to have. Which is what made him so interested, although he didn't have any time to continue talking to her about this crow. As he walked beside her towards the front of the little town, he saw his older brother sitting there with bags around his feet. It was obvious Daniel was going to have words with him, but he honestly didn't care because he had enjoyed the short time he had with Roedanya.

He nodded his head lightly when Daniel told him that it was time to go, "I'll see you soon, Roedanya." He gave her a smile and even gave her a cheeky little wink, he turned around and started following his brother away. He had dealt with all of Daniel's foul moods and this time wasn't anything different, he was used to his brother and was already prepared for what would be said to him once they were away from the humans in town.

Alec had actually prepared himself for a grilling right there and then when Daniel saw he had been with Roedanya, although he was glad that didn't happen. He didn't want to be degraded in front of a nice girl that he did plan to see more often, he didn't even bother saying anything. Daniel wouldn't listen to what he said, he had learnt long ago to just take whatever Daniel gave out to him and move on.
Grace watched as both the boys walked away from them, "He was so incredibly rude to me. His brother was either the same or you got the nice one, you come into town for the first time and already met someone." She looked at Roedanya and gave her a small smile, he had left a horrible taste in her mouth and she now wasn't in a good mood which she normally is. It had been so easy for him to flatten her mood.

"Let's get back and you can tell me about him, I think I deserve that after what I went through." She said turning around as she started walking with her roommate back the way they came, the school wasn't overly far away so it wouldn't take them long before they were back on campus and wouldn't have to worry about anymore humans.

Daniel waited until they had gotten back to the cabin and put their groceries away before he laid into Alec. "What the hell are you thinking?" he asked as he rounded on his brother. "I ask you to get a couple of simple things, and what do you do? You go find some human girl to cozy up to!" Daniel growled as he ran a hand roughly through his hair, all the while glaring at his little brother.

"Alec, there's a difference between fitting in and purposely going out looking for trouble. If a human found out what you were, do you know what would happen? You can't be so reckless! What if she had tripped and started bleeding?" he demanded.
"Okay, see you, Alec," Roedanya smiled, giving him a wave as he walked off with his brother. She looked to Grace though as her roommate spoke. "No, I think I can safely say that Alec was nice, not rude," She assured Grace as they started the walk back to the school.

"Okay, I'll tell you what happened with Alec, but I've really got to hear what went between you and his brother," Roedanya agreed. "Because just talking about 'what you had to go through' and him being rude just doesn't cover it." She was actually looking forward to hearing about it, because she had yet to see Grace get upset over anything, much less get this upset.

Alec stood there simply looking at his brother, he understood where Daniel was coming from. "I can control myself, I don't want to hurt her and I wasn't being reckless. She's new and didn't know her way around town, just because you hate humans, doesn't mean I do" He defended himself the best he could, Daniel had made sure that Alec could control his thirst if there was fresh blood around. If Roedanya had hurt herself and she started bleeding, he would have just left so there wasn't any chance for him to hurt her.

"I'm not going to tell her what I am, I'm not stupid and yes I know that you think I'm stupid. But she's nice and I am going to see her again, I know how to be careful." He told his brother as he wanted some credit, all his life he had been taught what to do around humans and he has never gotten into trouble before. He wasn't going to start now so Daniel had nothing to worry about, "Being nice to someone else is looking for trouble. You live your life the way you want, I'm allowed to do the same."
Grace huffed softly as she walked with Roedanya, "At least he was nice to you. Firstly we both accidently run into each other, I apologize while he grabs my shoulders and moved me aside. What gives him the right to touch me in the first place? Nothing," She complained as she needed to get this off her chest, her roommate seemed to want to know and Grace wasn't going to brush it off as she was still upset about her encounter with the jerk.

"He told me to watch out where I was walking before we went our separate ways, I walked around town before sitting down on that bench. Then he came along and had to sit beside me, I gave him a piece of my mind and he shoved it back in my face. He's a horrible person," She spoke in a different tone of her, "I even used a little magic on him. I was just so annoyed by him and I couldn't help myself, but you can't tell anyone about that." She looked at Roedanya as she didn't want to get into trouble.

Daniel really didn't like where this was going with Alec, and his eyes narrowed. "No Alec, actually you aren't," he said in measured tones. "Our parents are dead, and as eldest, I'm in charge. What I do, I do to keep us -you- safe so that the same thing that happened to our parents won't happen to you. And while you live in this house, with me, you follow my rules. When you get old enough to go out on your own, then you can live however you want."

Alec probably wouldn't know it, but Daniel actually didn't like pulling this sort of thing with him. But he wasn't about to slip up and let something happen to his little brother because he didn't do his job right. And apparently he was doing something wrong, considering that it sounded like Alec wanted to see a human girl -date her, actually, from what Daniel was gathering. There was just... way too much that could go wrong with that.

If the girl had been another vampire, Daniel would be wary but okay. Hell, she could be anything except human, and he wouldn't be coming down so hard on his brother right now. But she was, so... "Alec, you aren't going to see her again, even if I have to watch you like a hawk day and night to make sure you don't run off on your own."
As Roedanya listened to Grace, she became more and more amused, though she fought to wear that amusement on her features, afraid it would just make Grace more angry. She got the feeling that her roommate wasn't used to being angry at all, much less to this degree, and felt she shouldn't make it worse. "Well... he doesn't sound particularly nice... he didn't look particularly nice either, but he doesn't sound like a horrible person," Roedanya finally said, a little hesitantly.

Before Grace could start on another tirade though, she pushed on. "I mean... maybe he's that way for a reason? Or he doesn't really realize that he's being an ass. He could also just be nervous. People do weird things when they're nervous. Maybe he thought you were pretty but didn't know what to say. It could explain why he sat down beside her earlier even though obviously it didn't turn out well when you bumped into each other," she suggested.

They had entered school grounds, and it wasn't long before she saw a familiar white shape hurtling towards her. It was good to know Corvus had apparently had fun during his unsupervised time. "You manage to stay out of trouble?" she asked her friend with an arched eyebrow as he landed on her shoulder. Corvus is good crow. Of course he did not cause trouble, he answered with an ugly caw and a ruffling of his feathers, signifying his unhappiness with her doubt in him.

Alec quickly became irritated that Daniel was telling him what to do, he knew that his brother just wanted him safe so he wouldn't get hurt or taken away. But he was young and he wanted to have some fun, he wanted to see Roedanya again and maybe take her out on a date. He stood there glaring at his own brother which he didn't do often, of course his glares weren't anything like Daniel's but it still could pack a punch.

"I am old enough to take care of myself and know when danger is around, you let me go into town and be near humans then. What's different with Roedanya? She's nice and I could actually talk to her, maybe I just want a friend." He looked at his older brother as neither of them really had any friends, the only people they did know were other vampires and he was getting sick of them. He wanted to get out there and meet more people, creatures or not.

"What will you do if I do try to see her again? I'm not going to tell her about us, Daniel. I'm not going to let it slip either, you have nothing to worry about. I know that you worry about me, but I know what I'm doing. If I didn't then I wouldn't have started talking to Roedanya in the first place, I wouldn't put anyone in danger like that and you should know that." He spoke as firmly as he possibly could as he also crossed his arms over his chest, he understood where Daniel was coming from but he wasn't sure if his brother knew where he was coming from.
Grace did listen to what Roedanya said about the guy although it wasn't what she wanted to hear, she didn't care if he was nervous or was that way for a reason. It gave him no right to treat her in the way that he had, "I highly doubt that he was nervous. He's just a dick," She told her friend and told herself that she had to let this go, she'd never see him again so she wasn't going to stay worked up over this.

As she walked beside her roommate she watched as Corvus landed on her shoulder and ruffled his feathers, "At least I don't have to worry about him anymore. I'm around people that I actually like, who needs someone like that when Corvus is here." She smiled as she had noticed it felt a little strange not seeing Corvus around, even when she had classes she knew the crow was somewhere around the campus. Usually she knew he'd be close to whatever class Roedanya was in, but he was still around.

As she inhaled deeply, she slowly exhaled and let all the anger she had felt go. She couldn't hold onto how she was feeling otherwise it'd drive her crazy, "Now you have to tell me about his brother. You aren't getting away without telling me," Grace wanted to hear about Roedanya's encounter as it seemed so much better than what she went through.

Daniel had meant for what he said to be the end of the conversation. The end. Period. Except then Alec had to go and start talking again. Not that it was going to make Daniel change his mind. He was honestly the sort of person that, once their mind was made up, it wasn't easily changed, if it could be changed at all. And in this case, Alec had about a snowball's chance in hell of changing Daniel's mind. It just didn't made what he said or what reassurances he made.

"Alec, I'm not aruging with you," he said, giving his brother a glare of his own. "I've made up my mind about this, and you aren't changing it. Feel free to do whatever you want in a couple of years if or when you move out, though. Maybe Red will still be around." And just like that, the conversation was over -at least, it was as far as Daniel was alone.

He calmly walked back into the kitchen and started to make dinner. Alec would be angry for a while, but he'd eventually forget about it and life would move on as normal.
Roedanya rolled her eyes as Corvus but glanced back at Grace as her roommate began to talk again. "Corvus is great, but he can't substitute real people," she reminded with a small smile. "Besides, he talks in riddles half the time, and I don't think most people would be able to understand him if they could hear it. The only reason I understand is practice. It's nice to talk to someone who talks normally, trust me."

Still, for all that, Roedanya wouldn't trade her crow for anything else in the world -which she was sure the damned bird knew. Corvus could be annoying and get a big head at times, and yes, he did speak in cryptic riddles and in the third person, but she had a connection that was forged from so many years of them being constant companions.

"About Alec?" she asked in surprise. "Uhh, well... he actually just kind of walked up to me and offered to help," Roedanya admitted with a small smile. Considering her antisocial tendencies, it was probably only by thinking of her crow that she had even gotten through the first two minutes with Alec, honestly... "I accepted the help, and we just talked as he helped me get what I needed. He seems really nice..." She trailed off as she thought about when they had shaken hands. "You know, when he shook my hand, I think we both got zapped. I know I did at least.. I thought it was static electricity but I'm not really sure. It felt a little like static electricity, except it didn't really hurt. It was just surprising.." she trailed off with a frown, shaking her head. "I don't know, but I think I'm gonna do research on it 'cause I'm curious." Research seemed to be Roedanya's answer to everything. She loved learning and scouring through books for hours.

Alec hated when his brother did that, just ended a conversation that they were having because he thought he was right. He let out a groan of frustration as he knew that was it for now, no matter what Alec said now he wouldn't get listened to. Not that what he had just said had been listened to, sometimes he wondered why he even stayed with Daniel.

Yes they took care of each other and he had a roof over his head and had food, but the crap he had to deal with made him wonder what life would be like if he went out on his own. Although deep down he knew that he needed his brother, he may know how to be a vampire and look after himself but there was still things that he needed to learn and only Daniel could teach him.

As he heard Daniel in the kitchen he stepped outside, he needed a breather so he wouldn't start screaming at his brother. He did love his brother but the two did bicker like most siblings, he sat down on the front porch steps and just stared out at nothing. Roedanya came to mind and now she was expecting to see him, he had said that he'd see her and he usually always kept his word. But if Daniel was going to be watching him than he'd either see him go to Roedanya's school or he'd stop Alec before he got there, Daniel could do anything if he did go to see her and that did worry him.
"That's very true, but I'd rather be around Corvus then that dick. Anytime you want a break, Corvus can spend time with me." Grace smiled as she did like having the crow around, she'd never hear his voice but it was still nice having him around. It was nice to not have to talk to anyone but there was still someone there, she had always liked the idea of having that person or animal there that just understood you.

She gave Roedanya a sour face when she heard all about Alec and how nice he was, "At least you met a nice guy. Who wasn't that bad looking either, are you going to see him again?" She asked glad that she could talk like this with someone, she liked talking about guys with someone because it was fun for her.

Even as he started to make food, Daniel heard Alec head outside. He paused what he was doing for a moment, but relaxed as his brother just sat down rather than heading off anywhere. At least if nothing else, Alec seemed to realize that he was being serious.

So Daniel continued to cook, and ended up making spaghetti with green beans and garlic bread. Once it was all ready, he went to go get Alec, who still appeared to be sulking. "Dinner's ready," Daniel said, leaning against the doorway. Then he paused, because he had been thinking, and though he wasn't the world's greatest person, he wasn't a complete ass either.

For all that, he still felt like what he was about to say was going to be a huge mistake. "Alec, earlier you said you were going to see her again. Is she going to be expecting you to show up somewhere?" he asked, the words feeling like acid in his mouth. He really just wanted to bury the subject, but if she was going to be expecting Alec somewhere... he was going to at least give Alec the chance to tell the girl that he couldn't meet her any longer.
Roedanya laughed at Grace's offer, giving the other girl a smile. "Thanks for the offer, but I would never push him off on someone. That's called 'cruel and unusual'," she told Grace. "If I ever need to go anywhere where he can't be though, I can leave him with you I guess. If that happened and he got to be too much, just open a window."

All of this she said, fully well knowing that Corvus could both hear and understand her. Other than ruffling his feathers and giving her an ugly caw though, he otherwise appeared not to care. Since she teased him quite a bit, he should definitely be used to it by now, and his reaction was more to defend himself than because he actually cared.

"I think so..." The sentence trailed off, sounding more like a question, as she replied to Grace's question. They had made it back to the dorm building by now and were heading back to their room. "He mentioned something about coming here at some point, but other than that, I don't really know."

Alec was sulking because he hated when Daniel told him what he could and couldn't do, he wasn't a baby anymore and he could do whatever he wanted. He continued staring off at nothing even when his brother spoke to him, he was always hungry and would sit at the table to eat but not speak to his brother. They had been through this plenty of times before, so he knew Daniel just wanted him safe so he didn't die like their parents had.

"I told her that I'd go see her at the school she attends, I know what I was doing Daniel. I'm not stupid, I know the danger that I could have put us in. I just wanted to talk to her, she was beautiful." He admitted to him though he knew Daniel wouldn't change his mind over this, it didn't matter what Alec wanted. He wanted a friend in Roedanya or at least the chance to try.

He let a heavy sigh escape pass his lips, "I'm not like you. I'm not angry and I don't push people away, I want to know people and have a few friends. There's nothing wrong with Roedanya," He told his stubborn brother, "Why haven't you dropped it yet? It was clear that I'm never going to see her again, that I'll end up alone just like you. Mom and Dad wouldn't want this for us," He spoke as he wanted to be happy, maybe Roedanya could be the person to make him happy or it could be someone that he hasn't met yet. "I felt a spark when I touched her, how do you know that she couldn't be who I want to be with?" He was beginning to ramble but he wanted to get it all off his chest.
"I wouldn't open a window, I'm sure he wouldn't be that bad. I'd rather spend time with Corvus than with some people at this school," Grace spoke as she used her key to unlock the door to their dorm, she stepped inside with Roedanya and Corvus.

She nodded slightly as she listened to her friend, "That would be nice. Do you want to see him again? You two seemed pretty friendly earlier, but humans aren't allowed on school grounds. Just be careful if he does come here to see you," She told her roommate as Grace didn't want her to get into trouble just because she wanted to see the boy again, or because he came onto campus with no idea what he was getting into.

"Shall we go get some dinner soon?" She asked once she noticed the time, sitting down on her bed she watched as Roedanya started to put away the items that she had brought in town. She grabbed a hair tie from her bedside table and pushed her hair up into a bun on the top of her head, her hair was starting to annoy her. "That jerk also called me Goldy, how rude can one person be? I hope Alec doesn't turn out like his brother, they don't even seem related." She commented more to herself than to anyone else.

Daniel honestly hadn't known whether or not to expect Alec to answer his question. Alec tended to sulk or ignore him for days when he was angry, though he always got over it in the end and came around. In the meantime, Daniel always just left him alone until he came around on his own. Maybe breaking that ritual was what got him all of the unneeded, unwanted information and such.

Playing the part of patient older brother though, he wanted until Alec was done before he spoke, rolling his eyes as he did so. "As touching as that was... it was completely unnecessary, Alec," he told his little brother. "By the way, I know I'm an ass, but I'm not that bad."

He pushed off from the doorway and walked over to Alec, thumping down beside him. "I was thinking while I was making dinner. I know, scary. Anyway, I honestly couldn't give a rat's ass about this... Roedane.. Roeday... whatever you said her name was. I couldn't care less about her, but if she's expecting you to show up somewhere, I'm not going to stop you from meeting her." Before Alec could say a word, Daniel put up a hand. "However, it's just this once, because while I'm an ass, you aren't and there's no resaon for people to think you are. Besides, not showing up would just be rude. But you are going to tell her that you can't meet her anymore after that, got it? This is a one time thing. You plan anymore dates, and I'm tying you up anyway."
"If you keep saying such nice things about him, you're going to have a crow trying to court you," Roedanya laughed as they entered their dorm. Corvus took to his usual perch in the windowsill that he seemed fond of, and she took the opportunity to put his food in the closet where he couldn't get at it.

As she was putting her other things away, she also replied to Grace. "No one bothered to tell me about the no humans rule, though I guess it makes sense... thanks for the warning; I will be careful," she said, and then turned to her roommate after she had finished.

"Goldy?" she asked and immediately laughed. "It sort of fits with your hair color. Its more golden than blonde you know," she smiled. "And hey, if you ever run into him again, just call him Brownie. I think I remember seeing a bunny once someone named brownie," she advised. "Dinner sounds great though. We might want to go soon, before everyone else decides they're hungry too."

Alec listened to what his brother was saying, he turned his head to look at Daniel as he spoke. "You've tried to tie me up before and I always managed to get out, I'm not rude like you. So telling Roedanya that I won't be able to see her again, is very rude." He knew that nothing would get him out of this, nothing would change Daniel's mind once he had made it.

"What if you got to know that blonde girl that you were sitting beside today? You don't always have to push people away, just because we lost Mom and Dad doesn't mean we'll lose more people. You know how much I like talking and being around others, stop trying to take that away from me." He told his brother even if Daniel didn't want to listen to what he wanted to say, he had always been a social person while Daniel wasn't like that. Sometimes he honestly thought they weren't related.

However he didn't know what kind of interaction Daniel had with the blonde girl, if he did then he wouldn't have mentioned anything. "She seems to know Roedanya, we could go see them together." He suggested even if he knew he was wasting his breath.
Grace smiled as she watched Corvus make himself comfortable on the windowsill, "I wouldn't mind. At least someone would care about me," She smiled knowing that other people cared about her, she reached her hand out slowly and lightly ran her fingertips over the soft white feathers that Corvus had on his body.

"It's okay, you can get into really big trouble with a human finds out about us. Though I've never seen a human near here, actually Alec and his brother are the closest I've gotten to humans for longer than ten seconds." She admitted as she was careful not to get too close, she didn't want to make a friend in a human and then have to leave because they were getting too close to her fairy life.

She gave her friend an unimpressed look, "That's not the point. I never want to see him again," She said not wanting to call him Brownie or anything else, standing up from her bed she nodded lightly. "Let's go, I'm starving." She commented stepping back out of their dorm room, "I hope we have something good to eat." Usually the food was really good, but there were times when a meal was cooked and Grace just didn't like it.
