When Alec mentioned Goldy, it was all that Daniel could do not to simply burst out laughing, and a snort came from him instead as he shook his head. "I'm probably the last person on this planet that Goldy would want to see again," he told his brother seriously, leaning over and slapping his back. "Nice try, though."
With that, Daniel stood up and looked down at Alec. "Come inside and get some dinner. Won't be nearly as good after it gets cold," he said. Without actually waiting for Alec to answer or even move, Daniel went ahead and went back inside. He made himself a drink, setting it down where he usually sat, and then went back in the kitchen to make his plate.
Alec had to know that changing Daniel's mind really just... wasn't going to happen. Arguing had never helped before at the very least, and he just wasn't sure why his brother continued to try when he knew it wouldn't do any good. All it did was cause them both grief, usually for absolutely nothing since Daniel got his way anyhow almost every time.
As Grace started petting him, Corvus moved a little closer. It was obvious that he had taken a liking to Grace, which was actually good for everyone. Roedanya wasn't sure what she would've done if it turned out that her roommate and her crow didn't get along. Corvus could be... well, mischievous, and she wasn't so sure she wanted to deal with the grief that would have undoubtedly followed.
"Well, I've lived around humans my entire life. Luckily, Corvus seems to be the weirdest thing anyone's ever noticed about me, so I think I should be fine." Roedanya finished putting things away and then called to her crow since they were heading out again. Corvus complied, taking to the air, and soon he was perched on her shoulder, messing with her hair a little before he settled.
Roedanya chuckled a bit and scratched a spot at the back of his head that she knew he liked as she headed out of the room after Grace, closing the door behind her. "Well, something smelled good in the air when we were walking here... let's hope it was dinner," she replied as they started down the hall and down the stairs.
