When the time passed by, and she never came out, Luke started to worry. He hadn't seen any of the team of blockheads- especially Dane. Also, all of the other students had already retreated to their cars, and either gone through the motorcade, or were in the motorcade to the one exit of the parking lot to leave the campus. He then tossed his backpack into the passenger seat of his car, and headed back into the building. His nostrils flared as he walked through the hallways, trying desperately to pick up Alyssa's scent. It took him a minute, but he finally found it, and began jogging along the path it lead. Soon, he found Dane pressing Alyssa up against the lockers, and feeling her up. He felt a fire practically explode in his chest, and began running towards them. Dane only had one moment after he looked over before he saw a fist come right for his face.

There was a definite crack that was clearly audible as Luke made contact, and Luke quickly grabbed Alyssa, lifting her as if it was nothing, and bolted for the exit. Dane was most likely knocked out, but Luke's worries were of his blockhead buddies who would probably be nearby.

Alyssa clung to Luke crying against his shoulder as he carried her to who knows where. Not that she really cared at this point where she went as long as it was away from Dane.
As her crying slowed she nuzzled her head against his neck softly feeling safe in his arms. "Thank you, for saving me." Alyssa said softly as she almost began to start crying again as she thought about what had happened to her.

Luke was thankful that the other blockheads were nowhere to be seen, and carried Alyssa quickly out to his car. He opened the door, tossed his bookbag into the back seat with one hand, and then sat Alyssa into the seat, even buckling her in before closing her door and sliding across the roof to get in his own side. He started the car quickly, and it practically shook as the engine roared to life. He backed out of the parking space, and quickly peeled out of the parking lot, no one left in the lot's exit to block their escape. Once out of the lot, he let the pressure die down, and started to drive normally. He then piped up, and said," There's no need to thank me. I just did what any normal person would do if a girl was being attacked by a pig like Dane."

Alyssa gave him a small smile, before looking out the window in a daze. "He stares at me like one of the wolves from back behind the school." she said softly as she looked back over at Luke. "It's crazy I know, just the wolf reminds me so much of how Dane stares at me. You asked me if I was ever scared of any of the wolves, well that one I am." Alyssa said before becoming quiet once more.

"Fuck," Luke said under his breath, looking around the car, then, for any tell-tale looks of blurring of the air or hazing. That was the distinct visual cue for when a werewolf goes into their super-speed motion. Thankfully he didn't see any, and since they were in a car, he could drive and Dane wouldn't be able to sniff him out. So, instead of asking where Alyssa lived to take her home, he began driving to the edge of town to where he had just moved into. "Do you want me to take you back to my place for a bit rather than home? I mean, I assume Dane knows where you live and might have had the blockheads there, if he was trying to attack you at the school that is. That way, if you escaped, they'd have a beat on you. Maybe not, though. I don't know," He said, talking to her in a way to edge her towards saying that he should take her back to his place.

Alyssa looked over at Luke, she trusted him and knew he would never hurt her. "That's fine, I mean no one will be home anyway. My parents work together and are on a business trip in London, till the end of the month." she said softly knowing that their work was very important to them and one of the reasons why she had never told them about Dane. "Do you live with anyone? she asked a bit curious about his home life.

"Actually, no. My parents passed away, and once I was sixteen, I slipped out of the foster care system. My parents thankfully left me quite a bit of money, allowing me to get started on my own. So, I have a small house set on the outer edge of town." He then turned out onto a dirt road, and continued down it for quite a while, before pulling up to what was DEFINITELY not a small house. It was a large, Victorian looking house, with obviously way too much room for one person. "Here we are," He said, pulling the car to a stop, and killing the engine.

Alyssa felt a tinge of sadness as he talked about his parents. She could tell he loved them, and it hurt him to talk about their death. She placed her hand over his as they pulled up to his 'small house'. Alyssa stared at the beautiful house, the outside didn't seem to fit Luke. But maybe the inside showed more of his personality. "You must get lonely living in this big house by yourself." she said frowning a bit.

Luke smiled when she placed her hand over his own, and then chuckled when she asked about him living in the house by himself. He shook his head, and said," Surprisingly, I'm not one to get lonely when by myself. I guess I'm used to it. Well, not really- I've come to enjoy it a lot more than most social situations now. Although, it might atone to what I do." He then opened the door and rose from the car, slipping his hand away from hers. He closed his own door before walking around to her side, and opening up her door before offering her his hand to help her up from inside the car. Once he did, he closed the door and led her up to the front door. He quickly fumbled out some keys before quickly finding the correct one and using it to unlock and open up the door.

Once the door was open, it revealed a truly surprising interior. The home was clearly decorated with vintage Victorian style furniture, all of which was in fantastic condition. On top of that, though, the most surprising piece of the decorating was the books- mainly that there seemed to be no end to them! Bookshelves seemed to line almost every other wall of the house, filled with many books that looks like they matched the furniture in the sense of their age. Although, there were a lot of instruction books mixed intermittently in many of the different bookshelves.

"Sorry it it's a bit of a mess- I didn't particularly expect company this afternoon," he said, motioning for her to step inside into the large foyer- complete with an ornate chandelier hanging above their heads.

Alyssa opened her mouth then closed it once more as she tried to find her voice. "I don't see a mess." she said giving him a smile as she slid her hand in his. "Your home is beautiful, I didn't expect you to be a reader though." Alyssa said with a smile as she tugged at his arm pulling him towards one of the many bookshelves. "Do you have a favorite book? I will tell you mine if you tell me yours." she asked with a soft laugh loving how she could be herself around him and not worry about getting hurt.

Luke chuckled, and said," That's how I learned how to do a lot of things. One of the biggest things is, it helped in me building the car that we were just in. Took quite a long while, though." He chuckled, and then said,"Well, it depends on which genre we're talking about." He chuckled, and then said," But if I had to lump one in to all, I would say.... Alice in Wonderland."

Alyssa smiled a bit at his answer. "Mine would have to be Romeo and Juliet." she said a small blush filling her cheeks. "Their love was forbidden because of who they were, they didn't care about the difference even if it meant they could only be together in death." she said with a scoff. "Love like that is only something you can dream about."

Luke chuckled, and said," I agree... Did you know that Romeo and Juliet was actually a rip-off of a similar tale published earlier? The original piece was Pyramus and Thisbe." He may have been diffusing the conversation away from the actual topic of love and more towards the facts, but he immediately made the ironic connection between that piece of prose and his current situation...

Alyssa shook her head. "Did they have to die to be together as well?" she asked in a soft voice. She guessed she already knew the answer to it, but a girl could only dream that true love was real.

"Yes," Said Luke," They both ended up committing suicide for each other. Their families despised each other, so they would sneak away to whisper to each lovingly through a hole in a wall. Eventually they decided to elope, but when Thisbe arrived at the mulberry tree they agreed to meet at, she found a lioness covered in blood. Thinking the worst, she runs, dropping her shawl as she leaves. Pyramus arrives later to find the same bloody lioness chewing on Thisbe's shawl. He then kills himself with his own sword. Thisbe comes back to affirm her beliefs and find Pyramus's remains, and sees he actually killed himself. Wrought with grief, she takes Pyramus's sword and kills herself as well. As the story goes, mulberries used to be white- but now they retain the color of the blood that was drained on them from that dreadful day."

Alyssa frowned but gave him a slight nod. "What made you like Alice in Wonderland?" she asked trying to figure out how any of the characters in the book could somehow relate to him. Raising her hand to the bookshelf she slid her fingers over the spins of a few books as she read the titles, most of them seemed to be related to wolves. Figuring it was because of his fear she didn't say anything as she waited for him to answer her question.

Luke chuckled, and said," Well, there are quite a few reasons why I love it. First, I loved it because the ideas of the book at that time were completely out there. Not only that, it was against all of the rules. Second, the entirety of the book has a first layer of absurdity and crazed actions that seem like the product of an absinthe and elixir fueled drug addict. But, all of it has a second, much deeper level. The one that reveals all of the truths about life that destroyed those of the Victorian Era."

Alyssa smiled as she thought about what he had said. "I never thought about it that was." she said as she turned to look around the large room. "So what is there to do around here, besides reading that is." she asked as she twirled around the room happily as she waited for him to come up with something for them to do.
