::Who Knew::

Derek wasn't sure he was ready to ask everything that Chase did to her so he decided to say nothing instead. He simply frowned and shook his head, "you don't have to rush through food. And I'm not going to do that. Just so long as you eat as much as you can," he answered back with a small smile. He fully expected her to eat and he was fine if she took longer. Derek had known Emily for practically his whole life,he didn't think her eating habits were suddenly going to change so he just let it go. He nodded at the idea of movie marathon, "if that's what you want. What movies do you want to watch?" He asked, frowning at what she said next but he chose notto say anything. Eventually he would but he figured that it was probably a good idea not to focus on the bad right now.

Emily finished up one of the chicken nuggets and chewed on her fries getting sips of Dr. Pepper every now and then. Hearing him she nodded and said, "I don't like eating fast at all." She murmured suddenly feeling very tired and exhausted from the days events. She looked up at him and yawned as she did so. She murmured, "Disney!" She giggled and gave him a smile as she was feeling bad about smiling and bit her lip. She finished up all of her food except for some of the fries and three chicken nuggets. She sucked her drink down though and relaxed against him. She then rearranged herself and set her head on his chest and curled into a ball lightly and murmured, "You're comfortable, D." She smiled softly and cuddled into him happily.

Derek wasn't shy when it came to food so he leaned over and popped two of the left over nuggets into his mouth, one after another. When she cuddled into him, he wrapped an arm around her, careful enough because he was trying not to hurt her. He smiled down at her, shaking his head a bit. "Well, I'm glad to hear that," he said with a laugh as he shook his head. He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head, "put whatever you want on, Ems," he murmured, handing her the remote so she could pick whatever she wanted from on demand.

Emily couldn't believe the amount of food he ate. She was much used to it now, though. She felt his arm wrap around her as she snuggled into his side and was happy just like that. She yawned as she did so and mumbled, "Good." She smiled softly and was comfortable just like that. Her pills were making her tired. Feeling him kiss her head brought a slight blush to her cheeks. She always blushed around Derek. She murmured, "No, you. I think I'mm take a nap on you." She giggled.

Derek couldn't help but let out a laugh, shaking his head. There was a smile on his lips as he looked down at her, quiet as he kissed her head again. She was so special to him and God, he hated that she had been through so much. If it was up to him, he was going to do everything in his power to protect her from here on out. "Go ahead and sleep, hun," he murmured, turning the tv down so that she could relax enough to sleep. He then turned on the Blacklist, one of his favourite shows that he was completely obsessed with now.

Emily felt his whole body vibrate from his laugh, god it was so deep. She felt the smile on his lips even though she couldn't see it. She felt him kiss her head, and smiled softly. She murmured, "Okay." She snuggled further into him, having the blanket surrounding her entire body. She was soon fast asleep in a jiffy. She couldn't help that her body wanted sleep. Soon, she was twitching and flinching in her sleep. She had been getting a lot of nightmares recently. She took the nightmare to a whole new level and now was screaming.

Derek tried to shake her gently to wake her up and yet, she wasn't waking up when he did that. He was frantically trying to figure out what to do when a crazy idea came to mind and before he really could even think about what he was going to do, he did it. And so, that's how he found himself with his lips pressed to Emily's, a hand set gently on her cheek as he hoped she would wake up. He didn't like the idea of her having such a bad dream that she was screaming.

(I'm sorry to be so cliche but it just seemed to fit )

Emily couldn't wake up, she was screaming and shaking and thrashing around like someone was trying to kill her. She felt something against her lips and opened her eyes to see Derek. She was awake at that point and thought it was Chase for a second and flinched away and then realized it was Derek and felt tears start to pour down her cheeks. She hugged him tightly, burying her face in his chest sobs beginning to wrack her body. She fit perfectly inside of his arms and never let go for a second as her sobs filled the open space around them.

"Hey, shhh. You're okay, Ems," Derek spoke quietly, rubbing her upper arm gently. He offered her a small smile, hoping she didn't think he was angry at her or something because that was the last thing he felt right now. At least, he wasn't angry at all. He began to rock her gently as he could back and forth in hopes to help calm her down, he kept murmuring that she was okay and that he would protect her until she had calmed down. He was now just gently running a hand through her hair.

Emily heard him and cried into his chest and whispered, "I'm sorry." She buried her face deeper into the crevice of his shirt and just calmed down as she stayed close to him. She had already forgotten about the kiss because she was panicking now. She soon quit crying and all that, and just stayed there listening to his heartbeat. It had a calming effect. She felt him running his fingers throughout her hair and closed her eyes.

Derek was quiet and just gently rocked her back and forth, gently running his hands in her hair in hopes to help her feel better. He loved her, maybe more than he should, and he would probably deny that for a long time. Just because he didn't want to put her in that position. "Do you want me to help you into the bedroom?" He asked quietly, and he wasn't going to sleep in the bed, at most he could make a small bed on the floor with blankets. Partly because he didnt want to hurt her, partly because he didn't want her to be uncomfortable.

Emily shook her head, her silver locks flying as she did so. She curled into his arms further and whispered, "No. I don't want to move." She didn't want to move ever. She felt safe for once. She heard her phone go off and ignored it, knowing it might be Chase. That was a small possibility, but she didn't want the possibility to be true. She couldn't deal with him right now. The memory of him was beaten into her. Literally. His mark was left all over her, not a lover's mark, but a warrior's mark.
