    Authors & Posting Order:

(got permission to continue using the thread with just two, because we started off with three authors.)

    Description:
    ...

    Story Details:
In this supernatural world, there are different types of creatures: wolves, witches, vampires, shape shifters, etc.

    NHL Teams/Supernatual Creatures:
(some teams/packs are peaceful, and keep away from pack battles)

    Edmonton Oilers: wolves
    New York Rangers: wolves
    LA Kings: witches
    Calgary Flames: vampires
    Montreal Canadiens: wolves
    Boston Bruins: bear/wolf shifters

    Wolves:
    - Travel in packs - aka the team
    - Captain = pack leader/packs named after
    - Captain get's traded = another "wolf" challenging leader and leader gets outvoted/kicked out of the pack
    - Other ways to explain trades
    1) some wolves will find their mates in a different pack
    2) alphas/captains can get moved to help a smaller pack
    3) if another pack needs help being guided then send dominates to help
    - to change a human, you have to get brutally attacked near death. A huge risk, if you die... you die. If you survive the attack, you become a werewolf.
    - slow aging, and heightened senses
    - seeks comfort with each other, doesn't think twice to invade personal space for comfort.
    - has a wolf conscious, you're never truly alone (kind of like a split personality).
    - mates (scent calls to them? the wolf claims the other before the human side knows?)
    - changes every full moon, can't ignore the moon's song.
    - wolves show superiority by eye contact, whoever looks away first is the lesser, if neither do a fight ensues.
    Mates
    - wolves only have one true mate, and if their mate dies, they either follow after, or give in to the beast and become unstable.
    - some wolves never find their mates, they eventually “settle”.
    - mates can be: a human, witch, or a werewolf. A vampire mate is unheard of.
    - human mates always survive the change, if they wish to become a wolf. If human mates don't want to turn the males can take a potion to change their slow aging process to age with their mates.
    - the wolf recognizes their mate before the human-side does.
    - they are equal, though the male will be extremely protective.
    - have a special telepathic link
    - if the mate accepts the male wolf as their mate the male will bite the female on the shoulder to show other wolves that she is already mated.
    - wolves don’t immediately let human mates know they are meant to be together.
    - human mates/witches will not know about them being a mate of someone unless they've been told, though they themselves will feel a strong connection with the male wolf. And the she-wolves will know, because they're wolves.
    Steps to Mating:
    • 1) Acceptance.
      2) Bite
      3) Consummate (the she-wolves will bite him in return during this act)
    • once completed both parties will be able to talk to each other through mind link, and feel what the other is feeling.
-- the mind-link will be 'on mute' if in different cities/towns, but they can still feel what the other is feeling.
    • If two out of three are completed, they won't have a full connection. They can feel what the other is feeling, but no thoughts.
    Wolf Babies:
    - wolf-born babies are rare, they age until humans stop growing.
    - usually born as humans, and when they’re older they have a risky choice to become a wolf, or not.

    Bears:
    - have no choice but to hibernate during the winter.
    - has trouble keeping anger in check when shifted, always attacks one they have a problem with.
    -

    Witches:
    - Tied to nature / draw powers from: plants, weather conditions (wind, precipitation, solar energy from sun, etc.) and emotions.
    - Some crave more power and want to use dark magic, which doesn't come from nature (draws from suffering, pain, death from animals, humans, and dead witches lingering powers. They'd probably have to go grave robbing (Imagining Dustin Brown doing that.)
    - Then maybe other stuff can include concocting potions and having the stereotypical cauldron to put spells on said liquid. The ingredients can also include blood, plants, etc.
    - If done without an incantation or potion, witches can lose energy by throwing the other away from them with just a thrust of their hands. (??)
    - The most important thing is balance: you take something, you give it back. It is very hard to mess with life and death (i.e. sacrifices, w/e) and it is considered dark magic.

    Vampires:
    - sun burns (like The Vampire Diaries)
    -

    Emissary:
    - peace maker, negotiator of a wolf pack
    - human representative for pack, convene with emissaries of other packs to talk peace/make agreement

    --
    Story Conflict:
-- Wolves vs. Witches: Long ago, witches had a grimoire of special spells for very important magic and fearful of the witches' magic, the werewolves attacked the witches and stole the book. THE wolves (the original six?) mentioned in the "ancient" altercation has a tradition of passing around the grimoire and taking turns hiding it so the witches can never find it. Still applies to present day (in this story.)
-- Wolves vs. Vampires: Vampires move into Ference Pack's territory and trouble arise. The Oilers emissary disappears, and is found with the Flames, this brews up war. The leader of the Vampire coven has a Love, a Love who is reincarnated 10 years after the previous one dies. This Love is the reason why the Vampires moved into the territory, she is the daughter of one of the Oilers.

-- Edmonton Oilers (Wolf) vs. Calgary Flames (Vamp)
-- New York Rangers (wolf) vs. Montreal Canadiens (wolf)
(The wolf packs of the Oilers and Rangers form an alliance to deal with each other's problems)
-- Everyone else vs. LA Kings (witches)

    Character Information:

    -- -- CALLI'S CHARACTER
→ Lida Katarina Smid | face claim
    Age: 22
Species: Werewolf (just turned by the beginning of the story)
    Love Interest: Luke Gazdic
    Pack/Coven: Ference Wolf Pack! (Oilers)

    Personality/Background:
Is kind of like Anna from Frozen.

    -
    -
    Character Points:
➤ Sister to Smid and Lacey's character (who is adopted)
➤ Death of parents brought her and Smid to Edmonton to their uncle who is the Oiler's emissary
➤ Smid - succeeds uncle as emissary; OC - human at the time
➤ Smid "mysteriously" disappears - turns out he changes allegiance because a particular witch accidentally wiped his memories and was retrieved by the Calgary vamps
➤ OC and Oilers finds out about this, gets angry - want to fight back
➤ Oilers go to Rangers for assistance
➤ OC, desiring to grow stronger and fight to get her bro back, asks Ference (Oiler's alpha) to turn her into a wolf
➤ Spends quite some time adjusting to her wolf, uneasy transitions - dealing with emotions, physical pain.. etc.
➤ After meeting with Rangers to form an alliance, she finds her long lost adopted sister, who happens to be a witch - reunion is not smooth because witch sister is changed, not as affectionate
➤ Loved by both the Oilers and Rangers pack - kind and has relatable personality
➤ Finds out Smid was turned into a vampire by the Flames and leading a vamp coven
➤ Asks witch sister to concoct something to make Smid remember and he call off vamp attack on the wolves
➤ Eventually kidnapped by Kings for their evil plan.
    --
    Love Interest Relationship:
Since Luke is a new wolf to the pack, he and Lida haven't really spoken to one another or stayed in the same place long enough for Luke's wolf to "see" her. He only had these anxious moments when she was near, but he ignored it because he didn't know what was happening to him. It wasn't until he was on patrol one night that he let his wolf lead him to her. He was going to start talking to her, but then Smid disappeared and she pulled away from everyone and closed herself away.

When they found out that the Flames had Smid, Lida came back and asked Ference to change her. When she finished the change, Luke is immediately there, giving her comfort and she grabs at it instinctively.
    --
    • Gazdic is a fighting wolf, but he is really a softy. He trains pups how to fight, in both human and wolf form.
    • Gazdic will be enamored by Lida, and becomes overly protective to the point that she freaks out at him. He's immediately wrapped around her finger and he doesn't care. He just wants to make her happy, and doesn't like the fact that he can't blindly run into the Flames territory to get her brother back for her.
    • Lida loves him just as much, even though they haven't known each other for long, the connection between them as mates is strong and she doesn't know how to take this. So she just goes with the flow.
    • As she recovers from the change, Luke is at her beck and call, and they get to know each other during this time.
    • She then attends the training, and trains along side the pups and newly turned wolves. Gazdic gives her special attention seeing as mating is a favorable thing for wolves.

    -- -- LACEY'S CHARACTER
→ Geraldine Anastasia Smid | face claim (menacing/badass version) or face claim (more natural looking)
    Age: 25
    Species: Witch
    Love Interest: Chris Kreider
Pack/Coven: Callahan's wolf pack/Brown's witch coven/McDonagh's wolf pack (shifting loyalties)

    Character Points:
Lacey's character - witch, former emissary for Rangers
➤ Was "different" than rest of family, and in confusion, eventually leaves home
➤ Finds Callahan (alpha of Rangers at the time) - he tells her she is a witch; hires her as emissary for pack while he hires his witch to help her hone her powers
➤ Hides her powers from rest of pack - ashamed & life-endangering (wolves history of attacking witches) but gets along with Kreider
➤ Accidentally saw Smid, and accidentally wiped him of his memories
➤ Callahan gets "outvoted" leaves for Tampa Bay
➤ Leaves because no Cally, no safety - joins the Kings because they promise her good life cuz they're witches
➤ Kreider is betrayed and angrily attacks Carey Price of the Habs while he is bringing grimoire to NY (provoking fight between habs and Rangers)
➤ Kings sent her to NY to find out where grimoire is
➤ Mac doesn't trust her so he kept the secrets of the grimoire from her
➤ Gets caught in the whole Calgary/Edmonton & Montreal/NY - never finds grimoire
➤ Warms up to the Rangers/Oilers pack and feels guilty for keeping the big, evil Kings plan from them
➤ NY fight with Habs end at realization of misunderstanding - Kreider did something stupid and attacked when he didn't mean to - both sides do not mean harm to each other
➤ She eventually unveils LA Kings's evil plan

    Pack/Coven/Team's History: (or something)

    Ference Pack | Edmonton Oilers:
Alpha Andrew Ference grew up in Boston, and is acquainted with the Bears/Bruins. He came between the would-be fight with the Ranger Wolves, and the Bear shifters. The Alpha of the Ranger Pack was grateful to Ference, for it would have caused a terrible battle between the two predators. When the Rangers call Ference and ask for back up, Ference asks, "Well... what would I get in return? I already helped you with the bears." -- hence the Rangers/Oilers alliance.
    ...
    ...

    Callahan/McDonagh Pack | NY Rangers:
Callahan grew up in Rochester, NY and grew up to join the NYC/Rangers pack. He rose through the ranks and eventually, he was elected to be the pack leader. While he was alpha, he came across this misguided witch and used her as his emissary while training her/keeping her power under wraps. Eventually, his leadership gets challenged by McDonagh when the rest of the pack starts to oppose Callahan's intentions to attack the New Jersey Devils. Under McDonagh's leadership, the pack allies with Ference's Edmonton pack.

    Other Important Stuff:
Boston is the 'supernatural city' and is surrounded by magical stones made by witches to keep humans out. Boston is a place for supernaturals to roam free, run freely in their other forms, or perform magic freely. If you harm another you are banned from the city until a certain time.

    As for the character:

Geraldine Anastasia Smid | face claim (menacing/badass version) or face claim (more natural looking
    Age: 25
    Species: Witch
    Love Interest: Chris Kreider
Pack/Coven: Callahan's wolf pack/Brown's witch coven/McDonagh's wolf pack (shifting loyalties)

    Callahan/McDonagh Pack History:
Callahan grew up in Rochester, NY and grew up to join the NYC/Rangers pack. He rose through the ranks and eventually, he was elected to be the pack leader. While he was alpha, he came across this misguided witch and used her as his emissary while training her/keeping her power under wraps. Eventually, his leadership gets challenged by McDonagh when the rest of the pack starts to oppose Callahan's intentions to attack the New Jersey Devils. Under McDonagh's leadership, the pack allies with Ference's Edmonton pack.

(and for the character points under my character - I forgot to include that Mac doesn't trust her so he kept the secrets of the grimoire from her and I also forgot to include that she warms up to the Rangers/Oilers pack and feels guilty for keeping the big, evil Kings plan from them)

    Witches:
I was thinking maybe we can borrow some of the stuff from the Vampire Diaries. I kind of don't want to take everything from them because the show tends to get overdramatic at times, it's like whenever they have a plothole or a storyline problem, they just bring the witches and find some unlogical way for them to solve said problems. So I guess witches are tied to nature. They draw their powers from nature: plants, weather conditions (wind, precipitation, solar energy from sun, etc.), and from their emotions. Some crave more power and want to use dark magic, then that doesn't come from nature - that can come from channeling another witch's power, like a dead witch's or something. (So they'd probably have to go grave robbing - I can totally imagine Dustin Brown doing that)

Then maybe other stuff can include concocting potions and having the stereotypical cauldron to put spells on said liquid. The ingredients can also include blood, plants, etc.

If a witch is confronting an enemy in combat or wants to put a spell on a physical being in front of them, then they can mutter an incantation or aggressively think it in their minds. Like on the Vampire Diaries, witches can raise their hands and give their enemies migraines (cuz they just end up clutching onto their head in pain) or they just holds out their hands and the opposition ends up flying in the air and slammed into a wall/object. I don't know if we want to go with that.

For witches, the most important thing is balance: you take something, you give it back. It is very hard to mess with life and death (i.e. sacrifices, w/e) and it is considered dark magic. The way they did this on TVD seems very overdramatic so I want to make the bring-people-back-to-life thing very near impossible to do or just impossible.

    Vampires:
I think maybe the sun burns them like on the Vampire Diaries. TVD is my favorite show and I watch it so often so I'm very biased.

    And @Patrick Sharp (Sam),
If there is anything you want to add/change/or alter to fit the story line you have in mind, that is totally fine! Also we can bend anything in our story lines if need be, so don't let what you've read so far restrict you from your creative vision!

We will also work together to make all of our stories/characters intertwine.

OK, I've added your character to the posts!

Also for the wolves, I wasn't sure where to go with the turning and stuff.
Should all wolves be turned? Or is it possible for them to be born a wolf? And for she-wolves to give birth? Because I think that they can turn whenever they want (despite it being 10 mins and painful), but they cannot ignore the moon's song, so they turn/hunt/run in pack form. Like, turning every month could be hard on the she wolves when pregnant so it could be possible for them to lose the baby. But I kind of like the idea of them having babies. tehe What do you think?

Annd maybe for dark/black witches, powers come from suffering, pain, death, etc. Could it from animals, humans? And they're the strongest, but also rare? And the flying back thing sounds good, but maybe not so much because then the "good guys" will pretty much be powerless. Haha. It could take a lot out of them, if they don't take anything before, or they say without an incantation?

Okay so later this week I'll try to come up with the background story for my character. I don't know much about her yet, but what I do know is that she's going to be Ference's little sister and that her love interest is going to be Bergeron (big shocker there). And that's how Ference ended what would've been a fight between the Rangers and Bruins (still a little iffy on the details, just going off of what Calli told me). I didn't get a chance to read everything on this thread but I'll do it later to make sure I'm caught up with you guys.

And I'm going to try and come up with the idea of how the bears shift. I'm thinking that they're going to be similar to the wolves but I'm going to try and make it original. Everything is still up in the air but I swear I'll put more of myself into this as soon as I read everything.

I think maybe you can be a wolf by birth and by turning? But maybe there's some distinctive characteristics for those that are born wolf? They have some abilities that those turned don't have? Besides, those born wolf are already wolf when they come into this world, and those that are turned (Lida), risk their lives immensely when they are brutally attacked to almost death to become one. Maybe the percentage of survival are not very high? And Lida is almost a special/rare case? Maybe those that are turned comes rarely? That's one of the reasons why the Kings kidnapped her? - because they need to know the biological and psychological difference between a turned wolf and a born wolf?

Yeah maybe it can be from both human and animals? Basically the dark witches just channel their power from wherever they can, and take whatever is there - whether it is by force or not?

Ooh!!! I love the idea of that! It could add more depth and history into Ference, the Bruins Bear Pack, and the almost-war between them and the Rangers! Take your time getting caught up, and when you have, we can build more to it! I absolutely love where you are going with this though! I'm totally excited for this!!!!

And since the Habs and Boston are historically one of the best rivalries in hockey, they have deep, long contempt for each other? So is it possible for the Bruins to join the Rangers and the Oilers (as allies, they gotta) in the conflict against the Habs?

The Bruins can be a mix? Between Bear shifters and wolves? And they kind of "own" Boston, so almost everyone knows about it, OH, they could have a couple of witches put a spell or rock (like Charmed, you know those white crystals?—have you watched the show before?) to keep humans away from the city, and only supernaturals are allowed there. And the Bruins are part of the Original Six, they also need to be in the grimoire hiding since they made a pact to keep it away from them. A fight could've happened years ago, like... years ago between the Habs and Bruins? And that's why Ference got in between the bears vs wolves feud, it could've been breaking a treaty.

How about... they could give birth, but they rarely come out as a wolf, and they have a choice to become one when they're older? But most of the wolves are turned? OH! Maybe the Kings don't know about Lida and Geraldine being adopted siblings? Maybe G kept it from them, and they took Lida because they think she's a witch/werewolf, which has never been seen before. She could've done something to catch attention, maybe she has an ability to keep her anger in check? I don't know, XD I don't want to make her a special snowflake. OH, maybe she healed faster than a normal person who was attacked.

OK, so idea!! was that the witches turned the Bruins into bears (they were once werewolves). And that could be another reason why the wolves stole the grimoire. And the spell to reverse the bear curse could be in the book, but it was decided that no one would open or read the book, so they didn't know about it. It could've happened during the war, years ago, between the witches and Original 6. It could be an NHL team that no longer exists that were the witch coven. And maybe half of the coven was wiped out by the wolves, and that's how they took the book. Maybe the O6 had a couple of witches on their sides who agreed to help in exchange that they could feed from the dead witches?

    Crazy
Hopefully that made sense! If not, let me know!

I like that idea! I'm going to bed soon too, ugh school tomorrow..

I think we should go with all of that! So maybe when the Bruins come across Ger, they're a little bit hostile at first? And she's all "jeez, who shit on their breakfast this morning?"

And what if the witches had their own language? Like a spell incantation stuff? It's like if you're not a witch you don't really know it unless you learn it, like if you learn a foreign language or something. But most supernatural creatures are like "ain't nobody got time fo' that!" since knowing the ancient witch language is useless for them anyways.

I have this kinda cute/epic idea for Ger and Kreids. Like IRL, Kreider is this studious, smart guy and he legit knows like 8 languages (he really loved studying language in college - it's his strong suit). So maybe he knows the witch language because he's such a nerd and he thought studying it is fun. And I can envision Ger trying to concoct a potion for (whether it be for Lida to give to Smid) the pack effort and there's a spell book with directions and she's just chanting spells and cooking the potion while Kreider reads the instructions to her. Maybe he can be reading some random spell book with an eyebrow raised at times because some particular ingredients are weird or the meaning of some spells are goofy? And she'd glare at him and tell him to stfu.

Also, do we want the bear shifters to be turned back into regular wolves after they find out that the counter-spell is in the grimoire?

What do you guys think of this? Is that like something you guys think is okay?

I love the idea you have for her and Kreider, that's cute! Haha. How did he learn, from the pack witch? Maybe he could be around for a long time, and he's one of the oldest pack members, and that's how he knows so much?

I think maybe the same witch that Cally had teach G about magic taught Kreider how to read the language? Because he's actually really young (younger than Ger), so he can't be the oldest pack member. Like I was thinking how his specialty is language, and while he was growing up, he had always been interested in all types of languages, and just kept learning.

And I have one more specific question: so what would the world be? For example, the world outside of the supernaturals? If Gerry is getting from LA to NY, is she getting on a plane or is she traveling by foot?

Also, if it's kind of like our current modern world with the supernatural knowledge concealed from the majority of the humans (with supernatural shows like TVD and Teen Wolf), would each pack have like a camp site in the woods for full moons and each have their own apartments/homes on normal occasions (like those supernatural shows I've just mentioned)?

Cuz I was thinking of something for my first chapter, like the first place G goes to when she gets to NY is to Kreider's apartment and they kind of go at it with Kreider throwing plates at her and G using her magic to throw them back at him, and some weird shit like that. And then Mac and the rest of the pack would just show up at his apartment to have this "meeting" where G's like "well... heard you guys are SOL with the Habs so... you're gonna need me."

Oh you mean the time? I was thinking now? XD I didn't even think of that. Um, she could travel by plane. I was thinking that packs have collected money over time, so they'd be well off. And I was also thinking that Witches get their money by helping out other supernaturals. So that could help her with that, and maybe Callahan could've had something for her? And that might have caused problems with the other members?

Well, the idea I have for the wolves are kind of based on Patricia Briggs's so... they'd be able to control their wolf side, it's just a 'must' to change during full moons. Wolves who can't control their wolf get executed by alphas. Gotta keep away from the humans, yanno? They'd be a pack, so they can live in the same city, or a small town they "own", do their own thing, live on their own, but still run like any other pack.
