No Escape

He nodded a little. "Unfortunately we don't really have separate rooms for girls, but we can give you a hammock immediately." He said, standing up.

I finished eating and stood, carrying the sack it came in. I walked over to Minho who was sitting over by a fire pit. "I'm sorry." I said, not making any effort to sit. "I don't mean to come off rude. I'm sure you can understand why, this is scary to me. But I wanted to know if you'd train me. I can't be a runner now? Fine. Train me until I can be."

"You need to run fast," he told her, "You can train but you'll have to pull your weight around here doing something, either farming or building or helping cook or in the medical," he said to her," there are plenty of jobs for us to do, and my job is a runner but I'll train you when I can," he said sighing.

"Don't expect results over night," he told her.

She nodded a little,"Fine, thats fine," she murmured.

I nodded a little. "Well, I am fast. I know it might take time before I'm able to go in as well. Newt told me he would show me around tomorrow or ask you to do it tonight, because you'll be running tomorrow morning. Then I'd go through the jobs and choose the one I wanted."

He nodded, pointing over to the hammocks. "The ones on that side are empty. So pick whichever you want."

Stella walked over to the hammocks, and laid down in one then closed her eyes rubbing her face a little before getting comfortable.

He nodded,"Yep," he said to her as he sighed a little,"We'll work on it. "I run five days a week," he told her.

I nodded a little. "I'll probably be a med-jack. I can barely remember my name but I know how to sew stitches." I said softly. "How long have you been here?"

"Three years," he told her lightly as he sighed a little,"Long three years,"

I nodded a little, looking at the fire in front of me. "I'm afraid that if I go to sleep waking up will be so much harder when I realize this isn't a nightmare." I admitted. "I don't know how any happiness could come from this."

He looked at her,"It gets easier, I mean... living day to day it becomes routine, " he told her lightly.

I nodded a little. "Will you give me tour tomorrow? I'd ask for it today but I feel like I might pass out from mental exhaustion." I admitted.

He nodded,"sure," he said smiling a little,"Once you eat I'll show you where you can sleep,"

I held up the sack and sighed. "I already ate. Newt brought it to me." I said with a small smile. "I just need to get some sleep."

He nodded a little,"Well come on," he murmured lightly

I nodded a little, standing and stretching my hands over my head. "Alright. I do have a question though. I don't have to worry about sleeping...right? No one is going to attack me in my sleep? If so I'll just stay up. It's less stressful than sleeping with one eye open."

He shook his head,"No, you'll be fine. No one will touch you," he said to her.

I nodded a little. "Alright. If you say so." I said as we walked over to the hammock. "Which one can I have?"

"Pick one over there," he told her, "those are the empty ones,"

I nodded a little, walking over to one and sitting down. "Thanks." I said before laying down and closing my eyes. I was exhausted and it took me no time to fall asleep.

The next morning Stella woke up and rubbed her eyes looking around, it seemed everyone was still asleep. She sighed as she laid back then put a arm over her eyes. She still felt sore, and tired - she wasn't sure how she was even going to get around today.

I heard rustling around me and jumped, watching as something climbed around in the tree above me. I sat up and looked around, seeing everyone else who seemed to be sleeping. I got up and walked a little ways away, sitting in the grass.

She sighed as she got up then climbed out of her hammock, she began fixing her hair, pulling it back and tying it, putting braids in her hair.

Minho sighed as he stretched then climbed out of bed yawning.
