No Escape

I saw Minho get up and walked over to him. "Do you run today? Could you give me the tour if you dont?" I asked him, seeing him yawn in exhaustion. "Or... I could go ask Newt..."

Liam grunted and rolled over, attempting to get more comfortable. He groaned, climbing out of the hammock to go over to the breakfast area to eat and then go to work.

"Nope its weekend, not running today," he said to her lightly as he looked at her, "I can show you around once we eat,"

She looked as the sun rised in the sky, she sighed a little.

I nodded a little, stepping back to give him space. "Alright then." I wasn't sure how food went on a daily basis so I watched them all get into line, sitting at the end of a table.

He walked passed Stella and smiled. "Good Morning."

She smiled a little as she looked at him, "Morning," she murmurderd as she yawned.

He nodded a little then nodded to the big pot to the left,"come on,"

I followed him over to the pot, seeing a stack of bowls. I picked up a bowl, following the line to take some food. "So after, everyone goes to their jobs?"

He smiled a little towards the breakfast area. "Come on, Frypan's making good
food today."

She nodded a little as she got up and sighed,"Good I'm starving," she said to him.

He nodded,"Yep, we got builders, farmers, smithys, runners, med jackets, and frypan who cooks our food," he told her.

I nodded a little. "Yeah, I'm probably going to go be a med-jack. Unless you tell me I can be a runner. I seem to have these thoughts of medicine. No clue how or why. I don't even remember my name."

He smiled. "Any idea of what job you want?"

She shook her head,"A builder maybe," she murmured, "I think we should have more shelter," she told them, "Like homes, a place to ourselves,"

He smiled a little,"Well I'm sure they'd love the help especially if girls do start having babies, we dont know hwo to handle that situation,"

"Yeah, I'm going to help them today. I want to learn what I can from them too. But then, will you also train me today? After I'm done with the med-jacks and the tour?" I asked.

He smiled. "Gally is who you'll need to talk to about that. He's the keeper of the builders."

She nodded a little,"Alright," she murmured lightly as she sighed a little,"Let me get some food in me first," she murmured.

He nodded a little,"Not for long because today is harvesting day for the farmers and we have a lot to get done,"

I nodded. "Alright." I said as we walked over and had food put into our bowls. "What's harvesting day? Does everyone participate in that?"

He nodded, walking with her over to the bowls. "Do you know much about building?" He asked curiously.

He nodded,"It's three days every season where we plant crops we go out plant them then bring them to be put in jars so they stay fresh all year. We end up with more food than we need sometimes, which is good because the food has like two years to be eaten," he told her, "This way we survive the winter, of course the ones who put us here send us some food - meats mostly," he told her.

She shrugged,"I don't know I feel like I know more than I know," she said lightly, "I know a bit about floor planning, like drawing out structures,"

I pointed to the slicers area. "Yeah, I saw. I'm not too keen on killing animals. Blood doesn't make me queasy, but it isn't for me. So you raise your animals as well. So is this the first day of the three? How does it work?"

He nodded a little. "Well, Gally may not want to hear about it at first. You might want to go to Alby or Newt first."

She nodded a little, "I'll do that," she said to him as she licked her lips as she was handed a bowl of food.

"Well we go and pick the harvest, then we go and have pots lined up, about eight of them thats what they're prepping there," he told her, "then we fill them with water and the racks to go at the bottom so we can seal the jars tight til we need to use them," he told her.

"I see. Then we go to our individual jobs? How does a typical day go? Breakfast, jobs, then what?" I asked, sitting down to eat.

He took his food, walking over to the nearest table. "What other things do you remeber?"

She sighed,"Not much," she murmured softly as she licked her lips,"What do you do?" she asked.

"Then whatever we need to get done for the harvest, we finish our jobs early so we can do it," he told her.

"I understand." I said, eating my food slowly. "What is this?" I asked, looking at the food in slight disdain.

He smiled. "I'm a brick-nick." He said softly. "I'm one of the people they call to fix stuff."

She nodded a little,"I see," she murmured lightly as she smiled a little.

"Rice, pork some veggies," he shrugged a little,"Food," she smiled al ittle.

I made a face at some of the broccoli. "I don't like this." I said, pushing it around the bowl. "What will you teach me when you train me?"

He smiled a little. "I also like farming. But I'm usually a brick-nick."

"When we have time, we're doing this inebtween work so you'll have to patient," he told her.

She nodded a little,"Alright," she said to him smiling a little then looked at the sky.
