You're Not Alone (Revived)

Jared scrunched his nose at the prospect of studying biology; it was one of his least favorite classes. "I'm not really sure that any other lecture could be as worse as Biology," He joked with a small chuckle. Considering that Casey was a premed major, it was no surprise that she was forced to take those classes. "I got intro to psychology soon," He answered then took out his phone to check the time once more. Clearing his throat, he stood from the bench and grabbed his backpack from the side. Jared knew that he had stalled enough time before his class. "I have to head to class now, but good luck with studying and everything, Casey." Giving a small smile, he turned to continue on down the hallway.

Seeing him turn away, Alyssa could tell there was a slight amount of disappointment from him. Logan had probably expected her to walk right into his arms. She gave a small sigh, rolling up her window once more. Alyssa waited until he disappeared inside of the house to finally back out of the drive way and return home.

"I don't see how psychology is interesting." Casey said before he stood up. She wasn't exactly found of psychology, she'd taken a class and that was enough. She preferred knowing how the body worked, she didn't want to know how the mind worked or why people did the things that they did it was to complicated and it just annoyed her. "Bye." She said simply with a smile before she grabbed her stuff and started to the library.

Logan walked straight in heading to the bathroom to take a shower. He took a lot longer than normal maybe an hour, his mind was completely clouded with everything that had just happened in the past few days. Why couldn't it just go away but he knew that it wouldn't and as much as he tried he couldn't forget it. By the time he got out of the shower his skin was red but it didn't faze him as he got dressed and into the garage and started work on his mustang turning his music onto a near blast.

After the class had ended, Jared found his head swimming more so than it had before. The class had twisted and bent his mind in more ways than he thought possible. Glancing back toward the bench that Casey had been sitting on, he found that she was already long gone, but a part of him was disappointed. Jared traveled home to see that his brother was in the garage working on his car, pulling up in the driveway. "Working on the car again?" He commented while turning off the engine. He grabbed his backpack from the opposite seat before exiting the car with a shake of the head.

It had been embarrassing for Alyssa to find Logan in that state, and she was even more ashamed to even find him attractive with all that sweat on his body. She pushed the thoughts that clouded her mind away as she drove back home, waiting for Jared to finish up with his class for the day. Once she parked, she ran inside of the house to take a shower and to give herself a moment to think. He had warned her about being around his brother and the allure that he had.

Casey went through with her study and lab partner. She found that she needed help with it all though she didn't normally because she always had her head in the game but not today. When they finished it was time for class so she decided to text Logan and inform him of the appointment not that she expected him to go. He'd made it clear but she didn't want to be like her mother who had given her father no opportunity until she was 2 and then bail because it was to hard. Not the ever thought Logan would step up the way that her father had. But she would give him the choice. Before she walked into class with Ian she sent a quick message saying the time, place, and day of the appointment.

"Yup" Logan said looking up for a moment. "Can you hand me the wrench? I just got the original engine and I want to get it in." He said simply though it wasn't completely true he just needed to keep his mind empty and his car was perfect considering the guy he bought it from had replaced everything with new shit and it did irritate him considering it was a classic so he'd been working on restoring it to its original glorious state. His phone buzzed but he ignored it not wanting to talk to anybody right now.

Jared sighed but heeded the request by picking up the wrench from the toolbox. "Here," He mumbled with the tool outstretched in her hand. The tension in the air from the previous night still existed; words that never had been exchanged. Lowering his eyes slightly to the ground, he readjusted the strap from his backpack. "You might wanna get that," He advised when the phone buzzed, thinking it may be Casey. All that Jared hoped for was that Logan would stop running away from his responsibilities. "Casey made an appointment for the doctor's. She's going to have this baby whether you like it or not."

Alyssa settled down onto her bed after finishing up with her shower, mostly staring at her ceiling. A small sigh escaped from her lips at the realization of how much drama surrounded Jared from his brother. She wondered why it was so difficult for them to just get along. Pulling her phone from her bedside table, she called up Jared and hoped that his class had not run over. "Hey," She greeted when he picked up the phone. "I sort of.. ran into your brother this morning. I completely forgot you had class this morning, but I didn't really speak to him. I promise."

Casey sighed as she tried to go on with her class but it smelt so bad. It was nauseating and she didn't even make it ten minutes before she ran to a garbage can puking. Her teacher kindly took pity on her realizing that she wasn't the type to fake being sick to get out of a lab and let her leave though he said it was so that it wouldn't risk contamination but he looked truly concerned. She left the class and decided to head home only half way there she made a couple of different turns and ended up at the park. She really needed to think about everything and she couldn't do it at home she needed a clear mind and this place was the only place she could think of that would allow it.

Logan rolled his eyes at Jared."You might think she will. But she's selfish she has her whole life planned out completely and this is not on that list it would fuck up allher plans maybe even stop them completely. She'll realize what's the best choice for her." He stated as unhooked the engine putting the bolts aside and carefully pulling out the engine. He really wanted Jared to leave this was the only thing that would help him forget about things and Jared couldn't fucking let anything go.

Jared frowned as Logan described her as a self-centered person, calling it complete crap. "First of all, we both know that she isn't. Second of all, if you think she's so selfish, why did you have to steal her from me? You could've had any girl in the entire planet, but you chose the one that I was dating. So, don't go blaming anyone else but yourself," He shook his head at the end, walking away a few feet to leave him alone in the garage. If Logan could just own up to his responsibilities for once, the world would be a better place. As his phone went off in his pocket, he picked up,"Hey, Alyssa." There was some annoyance in his tone that was not easily disguised. "You did what? Alyssa, I told you never to come to the house without telling me," He whispered, glancing over at Logan in the garage.

"I know, I know," Alyssa explained, feeling guilty about the whole ordeal already. It was unfair of her to do something like that him, especially at this time. "It's not like anything happened anyway. I just.. he just seems like he's having a hard time with the pregnancy. When I saw him, he looked half-dead from running. Like, he hadn't slept for a week. Look at it from his point of view, I doubt he meant to get Casey pregnant and is just lashing out to cover up his internal panic. Give him a small break, and maybe he'll come around," She continued on, wondering why she even felt an ounce of concern.

Jared leaned against the side of the house as she spoke. "Why are you even worried about him? I know that he's having a rough time, but that's clearly his fault for not being able to be a father. Whether or not he's panicking, it's up to him to own up to his actions. Look, Alyssa, I'm not having this conversation with you. You may have been there when the whole thing happened, but that doesn't mean you understand everything. I gotta go. I'll talk to you later," Jared hung up the phone, having an even bigger headache from the conversation.

Logan couldn't help but chuckle at how frustrated his brother got. It was pretty clear he wasn't completely over Casey but he was pretty sure he wouldn't want her now that she was used goods at least he was pretty sure he wouldn't because he damn sure didn't want her anymore. He sighed wiping his hands on a rag and grabbing his phone a small frown had appeared when he saw that Jared had been right and it was Casey. He sent back a quick response before setting his phone back down with a small smirk before he got back to work on his car.

Casey sat in the grass under a random tree as she stared absently at the people around her. She felt better at the park but still she felt like a heavy block was on her chest, it was almost difficult to breath knowing that she would be completely on her own. She frowned when she felt her phone buzz and looked at the message.

'I DON'T CARE. Do what you want but you aren't fucking up my life too.' Casey frowned at the words written on her screen feeling tears well in her eyes though they were from anger not from sadness. She didn't reply back,she didn't need to that's what he wanted to piss her off to get a rise out of her but she wouldn't let him win not this time.

Everything was always because of his brother. Now, his girlfriend wasn't even on the same side as him. She just had to protect Logan didn't she. "Everything is always your fault, Logan," Jared mumbled to himself then sulked all the way into the house. For the remained of the day, he remained holed up in his room with little to say to anyone. Even when the time for dinner came, Jared had little appetite and merely rested in his room with headphones on.

Alyssa sighed when Jared hung up the phone, clearly annoyed with her reasoning. Even if Logan was a jerk, she had to see his view point. It was clear that he wasn't ready to wrap his mind around being a father, but Jared kept reiterating the fact. She was sure that Logan could come around, eventually. He had to. I'm sorry, Jare. You know that I didn't mean to come off in a bad way. Alyssa sent to him, hoping that it wasn't personal. When she never got a response, she knew that it been extremely personal.

Logan rolled his eye's at Jared not saying anything though he couldn't help but smirk even though he really had no idea what it was about this time. It didn't really matter he'd pissed of Jared without even trying that's what mattered and he was very pleased with that fact. He continued working on his car ordering pizza for dinner though Jared didn't come down. He was still in a pissed off mood for whatever mysterious reason.

Casey sat at the park staring at nothing really until the sun set. She decided to get out of there and drive back home that is until her car broke down. She managed to pull over before anything really bad happened. She sighed pulling at her phone and calling a stupid tow truck. She was stuck there for another hour at the very least. The day couldn't get any worse.

Unable to stay in the house any longer, Jared grabbed his car keys and headed out of the house. It was better being anywhere else but home. He aimlessly drove throughout the town until coming upon someone with broken down car. Slowly approaching the scene, Jared blinked his eyes as to make sure it was really Casey. "Casey? What happened to your car?" He questioned softly since it seemed they had the worst luck today. Jared reached out to open the passenger and patted the open seat for her. "I'll give you a ride home. The tow truck probably won't get here for another few hours," He offered, wanting her to take it.

Alyssa found herself feeling worse as every minute passed, knowing how things went down between them. Since Jared wouldn't answer her phone calls, she would have to come to him. She would just have to force him to hear her out. Driving over to his house, Alyssa got out of the car and went over to see Logan working in the garage. "Hey, Logan. Is Jared upstairs?" She asked, glancing over toward the entrance to the household. Eyeing the pizza, Alyssa realized just how hungry she was since dinner had never crossed her mind.

"I don't know I heard a weir sound and it started smoking. I don't want to touch it cause I'd probably make it worse." Casey said with a frown though it was true she couldn't even change a tire right the last time she tried she didn't tighten all the bolts and her tire fell off in the middle of the road. She sighed softly as she looked at Jared she knew it probably wasn't the best idea but she got in the car it was a lot safer then waiting for the tow truck especially in the neighbor her car decided to shit out on. She grabbed her bag before getting into the pass anger side seat. "Thanks. You really don't have to take me home though." She said softly as she closed the door.

Logan looked up at Alyssa as she approached him just as he'd gotten the new engine in. "No. You just missed him. He left like five minutes ago mumbling something about me fucking everything up." He said with a shrug as he wiped the grease off his hands with a rag. He couldn't help but chuckle sightly as he saw her eyeing the pizza. "You want some? There's plenty left." He said as he tried t start the car a huge grin forming on his face when it started sounding just the way it was supposed to. It was the perfect sound and it was running great hell it should considering all the time he spent on it.

Jared could understand her frustration with the car, believing it was for the best that she didn't continue on. Nothing seemed to be going for them today. "I'm no mechanic, but I think you made the right call," He stated, hoping that it would make her feel better. After she got inside of the car, Jared moved back out onto the road to drive back to her place. He still remembered exactly how to get there. "I do have to. I can't leave you out here," He shook his head. It took a few minutes to finally get to her house, pulling over to the curb. "Next time something like that happens, just call me. I'll come pick you up," He offered. "Will you be alright?" He added on.

Alyssa bit her lip light since it wasn't completely Logan's fault why Jared was incredibly pissed. "Well, looks like you and I are in the same wagon for now," She sighed, not even sure why she shared that information with him. A sheepish smile spread across his lips when he caught her eyeing the pizza. "O-Oh, thanks, sorry. I just didn't eat dinner and never noticed how hungry I was," Alyssa admitted while stepping forward to take a slice of it. It tasted heavenly inside of her mouth. "The car sounds amazing," She commented after swallowing. Despite her appearance, Alyssa was a car enthusiast and moved to take a look under the hood. "You built this yourself?" She asked as her eyes scanned the parts.

"I do too. Usually when something smokes its bad news. I learned that with the microwave and the oven before it set fire. I stopped trying rugged to cook." Casey said with a slight laugh she was a horrible cook most things burnt or caught fire so she either ate things that didn't need anything other than a toaster or ordered out. She smiled slightly as she grabbed her back. Honestly she didn't want to be alone, she was tired of being alone but she wasn't going to ask him to sit with her just because she wanted to not be alone. She stopped as she reached for the door. "I know that it's not any of my business but you seem upset."

"He's pissed at you too?" Logan asked slightly in awe Jared barely got pissed at any of his girlfriends she had to of done something that really pissed him off. Logan grinned slightly at her comment most girls didn't like cars or appreciate them on more than just the appearance. "Ya I did. The last owner revamped everything and not even made for this kind of car. New doesn't always meet better." He mumbled shaking his head.

Jared chuckled while recalling the incident that almost set her house aflame. Casey had attempted to make dinner for the both of them, but that did not turn out too well. "Yeah, I remember all too well," He teased then watched as she walked toward her door, wanting to make sure she was safe. Seeing her pause for a moment, he waited with a confused expression until she addressed him. "I, uh..." He trailed off, trying to word it correctly but there was no way to. Jared parked the car before moving up to the front door, placing his hands into his pockets. "Alyssa and I got into an argument. It's kind of a long story," He explained since it was a bit odd to discuss it with Casey.

"On a scale from one to then, I'm pretty sure it's a nine," She shook her head with a heavy sigh. The whole entire argument was completely ridiculous. At this point, Alyssa started to believe that the only reason why he was so upset with Logan was because of his protectiveness toward Casey. Her eyes continued to move over the parts and had an appreciation for the classics. "This is really amazing. My dad has an original mustang that he keeps in the garage. Practically like it's his baby," She laughed since it probably was. Alyssa paused for a moment before speaking what had been on her mind the past few minutes. "I have a question, which I hope you'll answer: were Casey and Jared pretty serious?" She question, nervously waiting the response.

"Do you want to come in? I've got time." Casey asked as she unlocked her door nearly letting the little Papillon dog get to Jared. She was new one of the strays or abandoned dogs she took in and tried to find new homes for but she hadn't seemed to find a place for Gigi yet and it had been a couple of months. "She's nosy." She said as she picked her up before walking into her apartment. She had been trying to find a place for the dog but she didn't really seem to like most people even Logan though honestly she couldn't blame her. "

"They're amazing cars so I could definitely understand if it was his baby." Logan said with a small grin. Logan shrugged slightly at her question. "Ya kinda." Logan said simply as he shut the car down though that was putting it lightly. Now that he thought about it, it was probably why he'd gotten Casey fairly easily she seemed to freak out over serious things. "Why do you want to know?" He asked as he walked over shutting the hood of the car.

Even though Jared merely shrugged his shoulders, he stepped inside of the house as the little dog almost attached itself to his leg. "I see you took another one in," He commented while reaching out to give it a small pat on the head. Of course, they only garnered more barking. He followed Casey further into the apartment and sat down on the couch, wondering where to start on the whole thing. "Is there anything I can help you with?" He asked since the smaller dog seemed to be a handful. Jared had been too caught up in his own problems for the moment.

Alyssa could feel her heart throb at the further clarification of her worries. She knew that Jared was never completely over his ex-girlfriend despite what he told her. Finishing up with her slice of pizza, she opted for another one to cast aside her thoughts. "I just.. I don't know. The reason why we fought was basically because of Casey or you.. not really sure," She loudly sighed once more, shaking her head. "I told him to cut you some slack with the whole pregnancy situation, but Jared just kept going on and on about how you were a coward for not taking care of the baby."

"Ya. She's been hard to find a home for." Casey said as she set the dog down and went to the fridge to pull out the food she made for Gig since she refused to eat any dog food she bought. "She's spoiled, doesn't like people, hates loud noises like thunder storms, and she likes to hide under my covers." She said fluffing up the dogs fur as she scooped some of the food into a doggy bowl and heated it up for thirty seconds it was about the only thing she could make without burning the whole place down though she did have to have someone sit and watch or help her the first few times she made the dog food. "I'm surprised she eats it. Most of the things I manage to cook are inedible." She said as she pulled the bowl out and walked over to the couch putting the food on the ground and sitting across from Jared. "I don't need help. She's something else but she seems to like me. I'm the only person aside from you she has yet to bite or attempt to bite. But it seems like you are trying to avoid the subject."

"I feel like I kinda had that same conversation with him. Every time he opened his mouth." Logan said with a small smile at the fact that she'd defended him he was pretty sure that she wasn't fond of him at all but at least she had a small soft spot for him though it vanished at the brought up subject of the pregnancy. "It's probably best not to talk about me with him or talk about Casey." He said as he watched her eat another slice of pizza. "He likes to think of Casey as a victim of this situation."

"Maybe.. Maybe you should just keep her," He suggested since she seemed to be attached to Casey anyway. She had already adjusted to all of her needs and wants. "I guess, she appreciates the food that you make," Jared stated with a small smile, watching as the dog scurried to start eating. Relaxing back onto the couch, he let out a small sigh and ran a hand through his hair. There was no specific place that he could easily start. "I'm not avoiding the subject. I just don't know where to start. Give me a second," He started to think before starting off with the whole fight that he had with his girlfriend. "She was defending him. I couldn't believe it," He shook his head.

Eating the pizza, she listened to his side of the story. It seemed that Logan was not that bad of a person underneath all of his exterior. "Yeah, I kind of figured that I would stay away from that topic for now," She sighed before taking another bite. "I doubt that both of you wanted this child in the first place, and Casey isn't being forced to keep the baby. She's the one that is having it as a choice against what you want." Alyssa could not understand how Jared only saw one side of the story and refused to see the other.

Casey laughed slightly at his comment about keeping her. "I guess it wouldn't be much difference she seems to have made herself at home." She said as she started petting the little monster. "Alright take your time." Casey said as she waited for what he was going to say it didn't seem like it was going to be a good thing. "Oh." She murmured after he said part of the problem. She understood why it effected him so much but she wasn't ever good at what to say at moment's like those.

"Ya but she has a thing with needy thing." Logan said with a roll of his eyes. "She likes to take in strays and injured animals and find them places. She thinks she can fix the world. And if she get's rid of it she's part of the problem." He said with a slight shrug. "Even adoption is out of the issue." He added with a sigh.
