Draco raised his eyebrow at her words, "I thought the two were friends?" He asked and stared at her. He couldn't believe that someone from Gryffindor actually didn't agree with Potter. Though Draco knew more than he was letting on. Conversations that went around his house during the summer holidays left him very well informed. Not that Draco was actually involved in the conversations, he just listened. It wasn't a secret that Draco's father was a Death Eater. If anything Lucius was You-Know-Who's most loyal supporter.

[Alrighty]

"They are...or I guess they were until the ministry and Daily Prophet dubbed both Harry and Dumbledore liars." Aubree told him. Seamus wasn't the only one believing everything that was printed in the papers either. Aubree knew for a fact that there were other Gryffindors, and other students as well who thought Harry was some sort of nutter. She knew that he wasn't though. She couldn't see why he would lie about something as horrible as the Dark Lord returning. And she knew that he was telling the truth. She'd stand by him no matter what everyone else was saying.

"You believe him, right?" Draco asked curiously. He already knew the answer but just wanted to hear her say it. Of course Draco had read the papers and knew what everyone was saying about Potter and Dumbledore, and Draco obviously knew that what the papers were saying weren't true. But then again most things that the Daily Prophet print aren't true to begin with, yet somehow people managed to believe every single things that Rita Skeeter says in her interviews.

"You believe him, right?" Draco asked curiously. He already knew the answer but just wanted to hear her say it. Of course Draco had read the papers and knew what everyone was saying about Potter and Dumbledore, and Draco obviously knew that what the papers were saying weren't true. "Course I do." Aubree said quietly. She knew that her answer wouldn't come as much of a surprise to Draco. He knew how close she was to the trio, and that was why it was strange that things just seemed to work for them. A muggle-born Gryffindor and a pure-blood Slytherin. They were such an unlikely couple yet, for one reason or another, they seemed to work so well together. It was strange to say the least, but Aubree didn't mind. She knew what her feelings for him were.

Draco smirked at her words, obviously knowing that they were coming. He sighed and looked down at her, "We should probably head back to our dormitories. People are going to start realizing that we're gone and how long we've been gone for." He said. He didn't want to leave her at all. Draco knew as soon as they left each other he was going to miss her like crazy.

Draco smirked at her words, obviously knowing that they were coming. He sighed and looked down at her, "We should probably head back to our dormitories. People are going to start realizing that we're gone and how long we've been gone for." He said. He didn't want to leave her at all. Draco knew as soon as they left each other he was going to miss her like crazy.

[No worries! I'm going to post on the others tomorrow. I just got back from the gym a little bit ago, and I'm beat.]

"What?" Aubree questioned, punctuating her words with a raised eyebrow as she noticed the smirk that had formed on his face. She knew that it had to do with what she'd said about believing Harry. She supposed that she really was that predictable, or she assumed as such anyway. She nodded in response to his later words. "You're probably right." She agreed. He had a few excuses he could use, thanks to being a prefect, but Aubree not so much, and she was certain that at least someone had realized that she hadn't gone up to the girl's dorms in the common room just yet. "Same place and time tomorrow?"

Draco nodded at her words, "I'm sure I'll see you in a few classes. But yes. Same time and place tomorrow." He replied before pulling her close and pressing his lips to hers. He already couldn't wait to see her again and they hadn't even parted yet. He knew that classes were going to be miserable tomorrow without being able to talk to her, "I look forward to every moment I get to spend tomorrow looking at your face." He said with a smile as he pulled away from the kiss.

"I'll be there...or here I guess." Aubree said, punctuating her words with a quiet laugh. She smiled when he pulled her closer, her hands resting lightly against his chest as she kissed him back. She looked forward to seeing him every chance that she got, though she really cherished the moments where they were alone and could really be themselves and not worry about anyone seeing them. It was hard not being able to do the simple things any normal couple would do like holding hands or hugging, basic public displays of affection. Sure, they still got to do those things, but only when they were alone, and it was hard. But she understood why they had to keep their relationship a secret. It was the safest thing that they could do at the moment. Smiling at his later words, she brushed her fingers lightly against his cheek. "That was extremely cheesy, but sweet nonetheless. Who knew you had it in you." Her tone was teasing.

Draco laughed at her words and kissed her quickly one more time, "I didn't even know I had it in me. Not until you came along." He said with a grin before he nodded, "Alright we really have to go." He said, giving her one more quick peck before pulling her out of the astronomy tower. Draco waved at her before heading towards the Slytherin common room. He didn't want to leave that tower because up there was where the two of them actually got to act like a couple and be themselves without everyone else around.

Aubree smiled, kissing him back softly. As teasing as her words were, there was some truth behind them as well. She got to see a side of Draco Malfoy that she was certain most no one else did. He was just different with her. He wasn't the foul individual that she'd gone most of their first four years of school believing that he was. He was, truthfully, one of the best people she knew. "I'll see you tomorrow." She pecked him lightly on the lips before they went their separate ways, she back to the Gryffindor common room, and he to the Slytherin one.

Charlie woke up the next morning and got ready for her day. She finished putting her tie on as she walked down the stairs to the common room to meet Fred and George. She knew that she wouldn't have any classes with them but she still liked to walk with them until she had to part ways, "Alright you two. We are going to meet up before our third classes to tell whether or not I was right about detention before second class." She said as she tucked her tie into her sweater and looked up at her best friends.

Draco woke up thinking about Aubree and got ready for his day, excited to see Aubree. He put on his tie and walked out of the dormitories with Crabbe and Goyle on their way to their first class of the day. Draco was practically bouncing up and down in excitement to see Aubree. He couldn't wait. Even if he didn't get to talk to her he didn't care.

The next morning, Aubree woke up and got ready to start her day. Afterwards, she headed down to the Great Hall for breakfast, McGonagall still needed to give out schedules which she did at breakfast on the first day each year. Seated with the trio, she found her gaze shifting briefly over to the Slytherin table in search for a head of blonde hair. It was only brief though, she didn't want the others to notice her looking. When McGonagall came around, handing out schedules, she was pleased to see that fifth year Gryffindors had a few classes with the Slytherins. "You would think they'd learn not to put us in the same classes as those gits." Ron complained as they all walked towards their first class of the day. "Although, I think you had it worse than all of us last year, Aubree. Having Malfoy as your potions partner the entire year." It was honestly kind of funny thinking back on that. At the time, Aubree wouldn't have been able to agree with what Ron was saying now more, but now, that obviously wasn't the case. Snape pairing her up with Draco was probably one of the best things that had happened to her last year. Of course, she couldn't let that on though, for obvious reasons. "Thank Merlin that's over." She agreed, letting out a quiet laugh.

Fred was feeling just as confident the following morning as he had the night before. He was certain that he was going to win this bet. He won every other bet that he and Charlie had ever made in the past, and he wasn't about to give up on that winning streak, nor did he think that it was something that was likely to change. As he exited the common room with Charlie and his brother, he chuckled at her words. "Honestly, Charlie, it's like you think we've forgotten all about the bet already." he teased, shaking his head as if in disbelief. "She clearly doesn't have any faith in us whatsoever, Georgie."

Charlie rolled her eyes at Fred's words and walked towards the Great Hall for breakfast and getting their schedules. Once McGonagall handed the three their schedules, Charlie's eyes went over it quickly, "Oh great. I've got Defense first class with Umbridge. I'm not in that much of a morning person anyway and now I have to deal with her first class. Let me see your schedules. I took a class that is for seventh years but McGonagall thought I could handle it." She said as she looked over Fred's schedule, "Oh yay we do have it together. We have Muggle Studies together." She said with a grin.

Draco walked into the Great Hall and got his schedule before he looked over at the Gryffindor table and smiled lightly when he saw Aubree and made eye contact with her before he looked down at his schedule and mentally cheered when he saw that he had a few classes with Gryffindor and he knew that somehow Aubree would end up being in them, "Don't they know by now putting Slytherin and Gryffindor together in classes will never go over well." Pansy stated joining Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle. Draco rolled his eyes at her words, "I guess they will never learn." He stated flatly. He didn't like Pansy but she loved to attach herself to Draco. Draco hated it.

"I really don't know how you handled it as well as you did. I never would have lasted." Ron continued, shaking his head in disbelief. At first, Aubree wasn't sure how she'd manage being partners with Draco the entire year, and it only got worse when she lost her cool on him in class that one time and they both ended up receiving detention with Snape for two whole weeks for it. That hadn't gone over all that well at first, though it was eventually the start of the two of them getting along which eventually, quite obviously, led them to where they were now. "I did lose my cool that one time." She pointed out. "And you had every right to. He was being even more of a git than usual!" Ron told her, causing her to laugh. "I suppose you're right. He was kind of being more of a git than usual."

"Good luck with that one. Let us know if she looks as toad-like up close." Fred grinned, handing over his schedule so that she could look it over. He didn't have class with Umbridge until the following day, though he did feel bad for Charlie, having to deal with the woman first thing in the morning and on a Monday no less. That was a recipe for disaster right there if he'd ever seen one. "At least we have one class together then." He was glad, he and Charlie never really got to have any classes together.

Charlie shook her head, "I bet she looks worse than a toad." She said and then nodded, "Yeah we have it together and we are going to be a nightmare for the professor." She joked before she finished her breakfast and then nodded at her best friends, "Alright we should probably head to class." She said sadly. Charlie hated that she was basically on her own when it came to classes because of Fred and George being in the year above her and all her other friends being in the year below her.

Draco rolled his eyes as Pansy continued to talk bad about Gryffindors and it was starting to make Draco mad, seeing the fact that he was dating one. But of course nobody knew that besides he and Aubree. He looked over at Aubree and smiled slightly, then noticed that Weasley had turned to look at him and he rolled his eyes and scowled to hid the smile he previously had on his face.

There were times when Aubree almost felt bad for talking about Draco that way, though she knew that she didn't mean any of what she'd just said about him. Maybe a year ago she would have, but things had clearly changed, and that certainly wasn't the case anymore. To be fair, he had been acting like a git that day that Ron had just referenced. And she really had had every right to lose her cool. The detention was well deserved but also worthwhile, seeing as she'd gotten them both into trouble. Of course, those detentions with Snape in which they were required to perform remedial tasks, such as cleaning off shelves and organizing the ingredient cabinets in the potions' classroom the muggle way, had seemed pretty torturous at first, though, arguably, that also seemed to end up kickstarting their eventual relationship. "Speak of the devil." Ron mumbled, causing her to follow the direction of his gaze. She spotted Draco, catching the small smile he'd sent her way moments before it turned into a scowl, one obviously directed Ron's way in return of the glare her friend had sent his way.

Fred chuckled. "You're probably right." He agreed. He could think of a few things that were worse-looking than a toad, though Umbridge truly was toad-like in her appearance. He could imagine that, as Charlie put it, she probably did look worse up close though. "Report back with what you think she looks like up close." He told her, grinning slightly at her later words. "Course we are! I don't think anyone is going to be too happy that they allowed us to be in the same class." He was sure that some would see it as a recipe for disaster, it was quite obvious that Charlie was nearly as much of a prankster and troublemaker as he and George were, so the fact that they were allowed in the same class kind of surprised him at times. At least, seeing as Charlie was a year younger than he and his brother, it was definitely something that could, and usually was, easily avoided. Not this year though. "Looks like it...have fun with Toady. See you after class." He ruffled her hair up before walking off with George to their class.
