Make Me Like You

Aubree was putting her things away, raising an eyebrow when she heard Matt talk. She sighed softly, but really wanting to talk about it. She knew that eventually her father was going to marry her off, to someone who could protect her, but she didn't think he'd pay them all the money he was paying this guy. "The only thing I can think of is that for one, he wants me protected, like you said. Two, he wants us married because he thinks we'll fall in love and keep up the act long after this is through, and he'll have someone to take over the family business when he's gone." Aubree flopped down on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. She thought this was ridiculous. She no more wanted to be here than Matt wanted her here. She felt bad for his girlfriend that he probably has. How much in love was he with her? Aubree did crave affection and passion, but she wanted to find it on her own terms. She wasn't sure how she was going to, considering she never got to meet anyone, but she would. She will.

  • Matt shook his head. He just knew there was something more to it. He had a feeling. And when wolves had feelings about something, they were usually right. He crossed his arms over his chest. "Well, you can make yourself at home," he said. "We turned the basement into a little theater room, so if you want to watch movies or something, you can hang out in there. Just don't hog it, you know? And there's plenty of food in the fridge if you get hungry." He moved out of the doorway, heading to his room and shutting the door. Now, to call Val. Well . . . maybe that could wait just a while longer. He sighed as he plopped down on his bed, rubbing his face and staring up at the ceiling. He was really in for it, wasn't he? Marrying some random chick that he really knew nothing about.

Aubree scrunched her lips to the side, getting up and decidin. To explore the place. She went outside, going over to the garden and running her fingers across the tops of the flowers, sighing contently. They always made her happy. Aubree turned the corner, her eyes widening when she was met with a jet black snarling wolf. "Uh, hi there," she said, kind of taken aback by his striking blue eyes. Aubree screamed when he took off after her, barking and snarling as he knocked her to the ground. She thought these ass holes were supposed to protect her? She stared up at the wolf with wide, terrified eyes, definitely not expecting what he was about to do next. Lick her face. Aubree blinked before she burst into a fit of laughter. She couldn't believe she actually thought he was some rogue wolf wanting to attack her.

  • Matt glanced over at his window when he heard Jimmy barking outside, wondering what was going on. He stood from his bed and walked downstairs, out the front door and around the house. He raised an eyebrow when he found Jimmy on top of Aubree, licking her face. He sighed and shook his head, thinking he should have known better. He'd thought something was wrong but of course, it was just Jimmy being Jimmy. He walked over and patted Jimmy's shoulder. "Alright, boy, you're gonna squish her," he teased, chuckling when Jimmy nipped at his hand. He watched as Jimmy moved away from Aubree, stalking off back into the woods. Matt reached down and took Aubree's hand, helping her up. "Sorry about that. That's one of our pack, Jimmy. He's . . . well, he's Jimmy."

Aubree took Matt's hand and let him help her up, shaking her head as she watched the other wolf leave. "He's crazy," she murmured, running her fingers through her hair. She looked up at Matt, biting down on her bottom lip. She might as well be nice to him and get to know him a little more. They were going to be around each other for a good while. Though aubree couldn't promise if she could keep her snark names at bay. She sighed, letting go of his hand when she realized that she had been holding it for a moment to long. "Do you like flowers?" She asked, walking back over to one in particular that she was pretty fond of in the garden. It was a gorgeous red and white, something she had never seen before.
    October 5th, 2016 at 02:12pm
  • Matt watched her, raising an eyebrow as he followed her. "I mean, not in particular, but I don't hate them," he said. "I guess I'm neutral towards them." He loved nature, because he was a wolf and it was just in his blood to love nature, but he just didn't feel any way about flowers in particular. "I do think they're beautiful, but I don't like them or dislike them either way." He noticed she was looking at one flower in particular, biting his lip. "I don't really know what that one is. It just popped up here one day. My girlfriend usually takes care of the garden, but she didn't plant that one. She said she came out to water everything one day, and it had just sprouted overnight."

Aubree tilted her head to the side in thought, biting down on her bottom lip. So he had a girlfriend? Aubree felt terrible. Here her father was making him marry her for whatever reason, and he probably was dreaming about a future with someone else. It made her feel like complete and utter shit. She sighed, stepping away from the flowers. She didn't want to mess them up if his girlfriend took care of them. "Oh, that's odd. It's very pretty," she murmured, giving him a small smile before going back inside. She wanted to occupy herself with something so that she wouldn't feel so bad anymore. She entered the kitchen, raising a brow at a blonde leaning against the counter, sipping on a latte. Aubree couldn't tell if she was Matt's girlfriend or with one of the other guys she's seen around. "Um, hello," she murmured, going over to the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water. "Who are you?" She asked, being extremely noseh. "I'm Val, who're you?" The women answered, raising a brow back at Aubree. "I'm Aubree, Matt's fiancé," she said, wanting to giggle when the blonde froze in her place and dropped her coffee, watching it spill onto the floor. Well, she got her answer. She was matt's girlfriend.

  • Matt followed her inside, frowning when he heard Val yelling. He walked into the kitchen, seeing Val nearly losing her shit. He rushed over and grabbed her hand, grunting when she shoved him back before turning to Aubree. She launched forward and tackled the other girl to the ground, scratching at her face. Wolves were very territorial of their property, and he was Val's, so it made sense for her to be this upset. "Val, stop!" he shouted, running over and struggling to pull the blonde off the other girl. But when he finally did, he dragged her out of the kitchen. He frowned when Val screamed at him not to touch her, but he grabbed her arms anyways. "Stop it! Let me fucking explain! She's not my real fiance, it's a job for her father! I have to marry her in order to keep her safe, and he's paying me for it. I only love you, babe, okay? Calm down."

Aubree rolled her eyes. "I only love you, babe," she mocked, watching them go outside. She pulled herself up off the floor, frowning a bit when she felt some blood running down her face. She huffed, making some weeds grow up from the garden and over to Val, wrapping around her ankles and pulling her away from MAtt. They dragged her into the bushes of the flowers, Aubree smirking as she watched. Satisfied, she skipped upstairs to her room, going into her bathroom to clean herself up. Honestly, her father really should have picked someone single to do this. "Matt's going to kill you," someone said from her doorway. She raised an eyebrow and turned around, looking at the man who looked similar to the wolf that had jumped on her earlier. "He can't kill me. I'm his paycheck," she said, shrugging. She winced a little as she blotted at the cuts on her face, really wishing she should have checked that she was a werewolf before pissing her off. Those claws were fucking deadly.

  • Matt's eyes widened when Val was pulled away from him, watching her be lifted up in the air by a couple of vines and dragged over to a bunch of flowers. He rushed over and tugged the vines off her ankles, frowning when she began to cry. He narrowed his eyes, about ready to snap Aubree's neck. He helped Val up, telling her that he would take care of things before he let her go. He stormed inside and upstairs, shoving Jimmy out of the way and stomping into Aubree's room. "You ungrateful little bitch," he snarled, walking over to her and slamming her hard against the wall. "We allow you into our home, give you our protection, and how do you repay us? By being a little cunt." He hadn't been this pissed off in a long time, so all his anger was coming out at once, and there was no stopping him at this point. "I ought to kill you right fucking now."

Aubree's eyes widened went Matt came into her room, raising a brow at him. "I mean you could kill me, but there goes your paycheck," she said, shrugging. "Besides, she started it. She shouldn't have scratched my face." Aubree continued wiping off her face, sighing heavily. She didn't ask for his protection. She didn't ask to get married and stay here. She didn't want any of it, so he really needed to get off her back. She was just as unhappy as he was. Aubree tossed the towel aside, grabbing a couple of bandages and putting them over the cuts that wouldn't stop bleeding. She pushed past the two men, walking over to her bed and flopping facedown onto it. She was so tired, mentally and physically. She was worn out.

  • Matt growled. "You shouldn't have opened your big fucking mouth," he snarled. "We have plenty of money, I don't need what your father has given me." He balled his hands into fists, wanting so hard to just hit her. But he didn't hit women. He was a good man, he was better than that. He walked out of the room, and out of the house, needing to go for a run. He took off in a sprint towards the woods, transforming into his wolf form as he darted behind the trees. He ran for as long as he could, until he needed to stop and take a break before he had a heart attack. He laid beside a tree as he tried to catch his breath, panting softly. No one person had ever angered him this much. He didn't know why she had to purposely anger him like this. Was she wanting him to kill her? Because that's the path they were headed down as of right now.

"Told you," the other man sang before walking out of her room. Aubree rolled her eyes, not even caring. If Matt killed her, she wouldn't be mad. Honestly, she didn't care. What was her life even worth? She stayed locked up in rooms constantly instead of being able to have a life. She had no friends, no family, nothing. She never even been able to have a love interest. She's been so sheltered all her life. "Well that got real depressing," she mumbled to herself before getting up and going back into the bathroom. She started the bath, searching for bubbles and putting them in there. She needed a nice long relaxing bath. She wasn't going to let Matt get to her. Even though it sure as hell fun to piss him off, she knew she shouldn't.
    October 7th, 2016 at 03:42pm
  • Matt got up after a few minutes and walked back to the house, tired from running. When he finally got there, he walked inside, rolling his eyes when Johnny complained about him tracking mud. He didn't care. Although, the guys were used to being naked around each other since they kind of lost their clothes while transforming, he still didn't want to run into Aubree butt naked. But when he heard her using the shower in her room, he transformed back and walked into his own. He slammed the door shut and sighed, rubbing his face. He walked to the bathroom and turned the shower on, waiting for the water to get hot before he got in and scrubbed the mud off his body. That was the one downside of being a wolf, you always got dirty.

Aubree played with the water in the tub, grinning to herself. She was so relaxed. That is, until she heard something in her bedroom. "Fuck off, Matt. I'll apologize to your little bitch later," she called out, huffing. When she didn't get a response she started getting worried. Was she hearing things? Aubree slowly got out of the tub, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around herself. She went into her room, screaming as someone grabbed her. They put their hand over her mouth, causing her to whimper. "Finally found you, princess," they snarled, making her eyes widen. She struggled to get free, thrashing about. She bit down on the guys hand, grunting when he tossed her to the floor. She scrambled to the corner of the room, really wishing she had clothes on instead of just a towel. What perfect timing.

  • Matt frowned when he heard Aubree scream, thinking she was probably just being annoying again for the sake of being annoying again. He continued to clean himself off and stepped out of the shower, his brows furrowing when he smelled something unfamiliar. He quickly wrapped a towel around his waist and walked out of his room, next door to Aubree's. But her door was locked. He sniffed the air before reaching up and pounding on her door. "Aubree, open up!" he yelled, crossing his arms over his chest. He didn't care if he was naked or soaking or getting the floor wet. He didn't like this, and he wanted to get to the bottom of it. "Aubree, come on!"

Aubree jumped when she heard a bang at the door, looking over at it before looking back at the man, who was cursing under his breath. Aubree made a run for the door, gasping when the man grabbed her by her ankle and she hit the floor with a thud. "Matt!" She screamed, grunting when the man put his hand back over her mouth. She whimpered. Her first day here and there was already trouble. It was seriously ridiculous. Aubree started thrashing around, not even noticing that her towel was becoming loose and was close to revealing all her most private areas. This guy picked a horrible time to invade, he could have at least waited until after he bath.
    October 8th, 2016 at 05:31am
  • Matt frowned when Aubree screamed for him. As much as he disliked her right now, he could hear the desperation in her voice and he knew she was in trouble, and she needed him. He snarled and slammed his shoulder against the door, attempting to break it down. He glanced over when Brian and Zack rushed over, asking what was going on. "I don't know, help," he said, and the two helped him break the door down. Matt growled as he looked at the men, baring his teeth as he looked at the men. He lunged at one of them, not caring if his towel came loose at this point. Nobody invaded his home, he didn't care what they were here for. That didn't matter because if you came in uninvited, you never left. He scratched and kicked at the man, whimpering and falling to the ground as the man stabbed him in the stomach without hesitation.

Aubree looked up when she heard the door bust open, Matt along with two other men were standing in the room now. Aubree blinked as she ran her eyes over Matt's body, blushing deeply and looking away. He sure was one attractive man. She scrambled away when the man pushed her aside about to make a run for it but heart a sickening sound. She slowly turned around, gasping when she saw Matt fall to the floor, his hands covering the stab wound. "Oh my god," she said, covering her mouth. She growled, lifting her hands up in the air, wind wiping through the room and vines flying through the air. She made them wrap around the men's throats, but beginning to strangle the one that stabbed Matt. If anyone was going to hurt Matt, it was going to be her. Aubree's eyes started glowing a bright white, the wind getting stronger and the vines getting tighter. She was livid.
    October 8th, 2016 at 08:46am
  • Matt groaned as he held his stomach, his eyes widening slightly when vines sprouted up from literally nowhere. Aubree was a lot powerful than he thought she was. He'd underestimated her, as much as he didn't want to admit. "Holy shit, she's crazy," Brian muttered as he knelt down beside Matt to check his wound. Matt moved his hands and looked up at Brian, watching as the other man ran his hand over his stomach, healing the wound. Brian had the power of healing, which really came in handy. The only bad thing was that he couldn't heal himself. So sometimes, Matt felt bad after a fight when Brian could heal them all, but still had to suffer through the healing process on his own. He slowly sat up, thanking Brian. "Aubree, let them go. I can handle them."
