Castiel turned away from Kinsley as she began to order their food, trying to sort through the unfamiliar feelings coursing through his veins. He wasn't entirely sure what it even was and couldn't decipher any of it. He opened his mouth to ask Kinsley but then she was ordering their food and he fell silent, willing the thoughts away. He could worry about it later.

"I suppose, yes," Cas answered after a moment. He looked up to her with a hesitant smile. "Perhaps I will actually feel the affects of the beer this time, since I'm so weakened."

Kinsley popped the top on two beers, tossing the caps away. She always hated when Dean would leave them laying around in order to count them. She walked over to where Castiel was and extended the beer to him. She grinned at him as she took her first swig of the beer, “Well good, because I was sick of you out drinking me all the time. And Dean, he wasn’t too happy about it.”

Kinsley sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes still locked on Cas as she downed some more of her beer. She licked her bottom lip and smiled. “You can taste it better now right?”

"I don't understand why drinking it is such a competition," Castiel said, his face scrunching as he considered how many times Dean had gotten annoyed with him over just how much he could drink. He didn't think it was that big of a deal, he couldn't understand how it was so important who could drink more. It wasn't as if the alcohol would suddenly perform miracles or anything if you managed to drink the most.

Taking his first sip of the beer, Cas groaned as he pulled the bottle away from his lips. "Why do you people drink this? There has to be something that tastes better out there!"

Kinsley shrugged her shoulders as she listened to Castiel ramble. If she could, she would listen to him talk all day. His smooth and steady voice, with the rarity of a tone influx, could keep her calm in almost any situation. Sometimes Kinsley would ask him to tell her stories about his early years, no matter how boring or mundane they might be, just to hear the man speak.

“I dunno, I guess us Winchester’s like to compete at everything.” Kinsley couldn’t suppress the small giggle that escaped her lips as Castiel pulled the bottle away from his lips. “Oh come on, Cas. It’s not that bad. This beer is quite good, mostly because I bought it. You should taste some of the crap that Dean buys.”

Castiel scoffed as he listened to Kinsley speak. "I suppose you are correct. I don't think that I've ever met a family that is more competitive than you," he started, only to shake his head. "Except maybe my own. They're a bunch of the worst people ever. Not a single angel knows how to take no for an answer."

He continued to nurse his beer, crossing his ankles as he looked over to Kinsley. "I've tried some of it but I suppose that I don't remember all that well what it tastes like. Luckily you're my companion and he isn't. I guess I should consider that a miracle all on its own."

Kinsley’s faced flush slightly, this time much more mildly and she was thankful. Castiel, of course, was just being kind. Wasn’t he? She brought the bottle to her lips once more, finishing off the carbonated amber liquid. “Why would that be a miracle?” She asked curiously.

Kinsley got up from her spot on the bed, talking while she went over to the trash can to toss the bottle away. “I mean you and Dean get on pretty good, yeah? You guys got that little weird bond thing going on.” She turned and smiled at him. “But I am glad to have your company as well.”

Castiel shrugged his shoulders, tilting his head to the side. He continued to nurse the beer that he had been given, wanting to finish it off so that he didn't leave any. He wasn't one to be wasteful, especially of things that had been gifted to him. "Dean and I both understand what it means to sacrifice our own desires for the greater good of Earth," he answered quietly, as if it was the most simple answer in the world because for him, it was.

He rolled onto his side, propping his head up on his opened palm. His gaze darkened as he eyed Kinsley, his eyes widening ever so slightly as thoughts that could only be described as impure passed through his mind. "I think I might actually be feeling the affects of this," he commented after a moment, lifting up his bottle and giving it a small shake to amplify his point. "Maybe being weak for just a day isn't such a bad thing."

Kinsley couldn’t help the giggle that passed her lips. What a light weight. She had to remind herself that the angel had never had the opportunity to feel anything physically that humans did—as far as she was aware. She reached back down into the fridge and grabbed another one for herself. She smirked at Cas when she finally turned and looked at him, “Would you like another one?”

Instead of waiting for him to give her an answer, she reached back down into the fridge to grab another one. She walked back over in between the two beds and set the beer down on the night stand closest to him. “It’s getting a little warm in here,” She commented as she began to pull her sweater off of her. During the process her t-shirt rode up slightly, exposing a small strip of the skin on her abdomen. She tugged her shirt back down with a slight huff, “Can I turn the AC on or are you good?”

Castiel opened his mouth to deny Kinsley's offer of another beer because it did taste awful, after all. But before he could decide on actually denying it, she was holding it out to him and he found himself unable to turn down an already opened beer. "Thank you," he murmured, dropping his empty bottle onto the little nightstand between the two beds.

His eyes dropped to the floor, lifting at the perfect moment to watch as Kinsley's shirt was pulled right along with her sweater. His heart skipped a bit as his tongue darted out to lick over his lips. "I... yeah," he answered, his voice strained as he gave a nod of his head. Castiel cleared his throat, all but shoving the beer to his lips so that he could take a large swig of it to try and keep his mind off of his thoughts.

Kinsley smiled at the man, before turning around and making her way to the AC. She sipped her beer on the way there, wishing that she was as buzzed as Castiel seemed to be. After adjusting the air conditioner, Kinsley made her way to her duffle bag, pulling out a couple of different card games and board games.

Kinsley walked back over to Castiels bed with the arm full of activities, a wide grin on her face. She all but dropped them in the middle of the bed before climbing onto it and sitting at the foot of it, the games in between the pair, “Alright hot shot,” She said. “We have Sorry, Life, Phase Ten, and also a regular deck of cards. We still have an hour before the pizza is supposed to get here so we might as well try to pass the time.”

Kinsley looked back up at Cas, begging herself not to lean forward and wipe the small pout off of his face. She was trying her damndest to listen to her eldest brothers instructions, but being so close to Castiel was proving more difficult than what she had initially thought.

Castiel forced a huff through closed lips at the mention of just how long they still had to wait for their food. He pouted, wondering just why they had to wait for so long for some pizza. It was just dough and some sauce and some toppings! Grumbling about it to himself, Cas straightened up as he eyed the various games that Kinsley had produced.

"Let's just start from the top and work our way down the list," Castiel offered after a moment, a gentle smile on his lips as he motioned toward 'Sorry'. He figured that one game of it wouldn't take all that long to finish off so that they would probably have enough time for at least another one or two of the various games.

"Unless you have a preferance," Cas said, his eyes narrowing a bit. "You'll have to explain to me the rules of each game. I can't say that I have ever played any of them before..."

“Here, Phase Ten will be the easiest. It’s a card game,” she mentioned. Kinsley moved all of the other games out of the way before getting the deck of cards set up. She handed him one of the instruction cards and began to ramble of how they needed two sets of three different number in order to advance to the next round. She divided out the cards between them, watching as Castiel furrowed his brows as he tried to get his hand in order.

“God, he is so cute---“ her eyes widened as she realized her though came out of her mouth instead of her head. “I mean, uh, my old dog? He was super cute and I with that I had another one?”

With a flushed face she looked back down at the cards in front of her, getting her hand organized in order to keep going on with the game.

Castiel had shimmied back onto the bed far enough that he could comfortably cross his legs while cradling his beer in his lap. He frowned as he read over the instruction card before lifting his cards up and beginning to sort them in numerical order. He had barely caught the tail end of Kinsley's comment.

His brows knit together in confusion as he looked up with one eyebrow raised. "Your dog was cute?" He echoed her words, his face scrunching as he shook his head. What in the world made her think about her dog?

"What reminded you of your dog? Was it something I did?" Castiel asked after a moment, deciding that his hand was the way that he wanted it to be. "I'm sorry if it was..."

Kinsley’s faced burned with embarrassment, her eyes looking downward, not daring to look up at him. Shuffling her cards in her hand, the process of the game long gone from her mind, she spoke timidly. “I dunno, maybe?” She squeaked. How could she get out of this? “I guess you are cute, kinda, like my dog ya know?”

Kinsley’s eyes widened at how awful that sounded coming out of her mouth, it sounded a whole hell of a lot better when it was still running through her mind. “I mean,” she cleared her throat as she drew another card from the middle. “It’s really not a bad thing, Cas. I’m sure a lot of girls find you….” She sighed and then mumbled the last part, “cute.”

The surprise washed over Castiel's features as he looked over to Kinsley. He tilted his head to the side as he sized her up, trying to piece together exactly what she was trying to say. In the pit of his stomach, he had some sort of idea but he didn't think it could possibly be correct. He was an angel, nothing more. Those... those desires were far too human for him to ever admit to, let alone act on them.

Clearing his throat, Castiel shrugged his shoulders as he looked away from her. "I can't say that I have ever heard such a thing..." he answered honestly. He had never stopped long enough to notice whether any humans found him attractive - it wasn't as if his vessel was in likeness of him. "But you must know that this is just my... vessel. That this isn't me?"

“Well, your vessel is attractive but,” Kinsley paused, she wasn’t quite sure if she should continue on with her statement. What was she going to say? Was she going to go all in and explain to him the admiration she had for him? How she envied his innocence and logical standpoints void of emotion? She shook her head, deciding not. “I… admire you for who you are Cas.”

Kinsley reached out and grabbed another card, seeing as it was her turn. She bit her lip as she looked through her hand, feeling incredibly embarrassed of what she had just done. “I’m sorry if I made you feel awkward.”

There was no explaining the swell of emotion in his heart when Kinsley further explained her emotions. He bit down on his bottom lip, willing himself to ignore it but Kinsley continued and Castiel's stomach dropped. He exhaled slowly, his eyes flicking down to the cards that he held in his hand. His eyes scanned them like normal but he wasn't actually paying any attention to them.

Clearing his throat, Cas set down the cards in his hands and looked up to meet Kinsley's gaze. "I don't... I don't understand why I feel the way that I feel," it was an admission and a plea for help all in one go. He was confused and there was no one else that he could go to for help, Cas knew that.

Kinsley looked at Castiel suspiciously when he set his cards down in front of him. He looked confused and out of sorts. She raised her eyebrow as his gaze lifted and finally met hers. She mimicked his actions and set her cards down in front of her as she listened to him began to speak. But Kinsley was confused. What was it that the angel was on about?

“What do you mean, Cas?” She asked softly, her eyes still burning into his. “What do you mean ’the way that you feel’? Are you okay?”

Castiel's gaze dropped for a moment and he cleared his throat before looking back up to her. "I feel an intense desire to," he paused, his tongue wetting his lips before he could find the courage to continue. He wasn't all too sure what the feeling in the pit of his stomach was and he didn't particularly want to put a name to it. Nervous but he didn't stop long enough to really think about it.

"Kiss you. May I?" His eyes flicked back up to hers. He cocked his head to the side, watching her intently.

Kinsley went wide eyed, her mouth going dry instantaneously. She wanted nothing more than to through the games of the bed and jump all over the angel, but she didn’t want to scare him away. She nodded furiously, leaning forward. Her tongue swiped across her bottom lip before she leaned in and pressed her lips to his, knowing that he wouldn’t make it through all of the first move.

When Kinsley pulled away from him, she was sure that her face was more flushed than it ever had been and she was almost positive that the man could blood throbbing through her veins. “Your lips are incredibly soft,” she squeaked out, not knowing what else to say.
