Let's Get Where We're Going

Castiel was more thankful than he would ever admit to being when Kinsley leaned forward and started the kiss. His eyes closed in anticipation, tensing before her lips made contact with his. He had watched plenty of human kisses before but now that it came time to actually mimic them, he wasn't sure how to.

Clearing his throat when she finally pulled away, Castiel couldn't help the silly grin on his face. "That was... more than I expected it to be," he commented quietly, inclining his head. "I rather enjoyed it."

Kinsley couldn’t wipe the stupid smile that she had off her face. In the back of her mind she thought of her brothers, and wondered what they would think of all this? But, it was time for Kinsley to be her own person and make her own decisions. Not the straggler of being the youngest Winchester and falling in line with everything her over-protective older brothers said and did.

Kinsley ran a hand through her blonde hair, her eyes staring back up into Castiel’s. “I rather enjoyed that too,” she whispered, mimicking the angel’s choice of words. “Wouldn’t mind doing it again, actually.”

As much as Castiel had enjoyed the kiss, he hadn't even considered kissing her again. His throat dried as h looked up, watching her intently. The corners of his lips dipped into a frown before he nodded, motioning for her to join him.

Kinsley standing in front of him, Castiel hesitated a moment longer before lifting his hands. They sought out her hips, his eyes lighting up as he pulled her closer to him. His fingers tightened on her hips, the tips of his thumbs teasing the skin beneath her shirt. "There's got to be more to kissing than that," he murmured, leaning up, arching up to try and press a kiss to her lips.

Kinsley immediately reached out, her hands laying on either side of the angel’s face as she pressed her lips to his for the second time. It was a soft, gentle kiss, but for Kinsley there was a lot of emotion behind it for her. She pulled away, giving him a half smile as she allowed her thoughts to get the better of her.

Kinsley sighed gently, her eyes closing for a moment before she braved up to speak her mind. “Cas, you know I’m kissing you because—“ She paused for a moment, trying to think of how she could explain it to the angel in a way that he would understand. “Cas, I like you. As in, more than a friend. I have a lot of feelings for you—“ she paused with a sigh, turning to go and sit on the other bed. The look of confusion on his face was telling her he didn’t feel the same way and the he didn’t understand, right?

His confusion wasn't something that he was going to be able to get rid of, not any time soon, but watching Kinsley's features crumbled as she thought of something, as she spoke, it made his heart break. Castiel was an angel, of that there was no doubt, but he found himself feeling more and more human as time wore on.

Castiel looked down to his hands, grasping them in his lap. He was quiet for a long moment before looking back up to Kinsley. He offered an uneasy smile before he shrugged his shoulders. "While I'm not aware of what all that entails," he paused to clear his throat before looking back down for a brief moment. "I'm willing to try. I don't... I don't like seeing you upset, Kinsley..."

Kinsley’s brows furrowed as she listened to Castiel speak. She wondered for a moment if he even knew what he was saying. She bit her bottom lip as she looked away from him, trying to figure out exactly what it was that she wanted to say. When the words escaped her mind, she turned back to him, giving him a small smile.

“Cas, I don’t want you to do anything that you don’t feel comfortable with,” she mumbled as she looked down at her hands. “Just because I am a silly girl with a silly crush on an angel of the lord,” she mimicked his low tone playfully, “doesn’t mean that you have to reciprocate the feelings.”

Castiel shook his head, pushing to his feet as he closed the small distance between them. He sat down beside her, setting his hand on her knee with his thumb rubbing gently over the clothed skin. "If I was not comfortable with at least trying, I would not have even bothered to offer. That would be pointless, would it not be?"

He hesitated, unsure of how to properly tell her what he was thinking. He let out a quiet huff, his frustration showing a bit more than he would have preferred. "It's because this is all so new to me, I'm unsure of what I should or should not to - ultimately, what is expected of me. I've already rebelled against my father before, there is little reason to stop now?"

Kinsley allowed her eyes to linger on his face for a moment longer than what she would usually deem necessary. She was having a hard time deciphering what it was the angel was trying to explain to her. She pulled her eyes away from his fierce blue orbs and looked down to the hand that he had settled onto her knee. Her skin relished the feeling of the soft stroke of his thumb against her jeans.

Kinsley took a bold move and placed her hand on top of his before looking at him once more. “All I know is I have feelings for you, Cas. I can’t tell you what is expected of you—mostly because I don’t really expect anything from you…”

Castiel stilled in his movements when Kinsley set a hand on top of hers. His stomach flipped and he hesitated a moment longer before lacing his fingers with hers. He let out a quiet sigh as he lifted their hands up to his face to press a gentle kiss to her hand. He had seen such acts all over the world, in movies and in person, so he thought it was an appropriate way to show his appreciation for her.

"I need you to help guide me in a relationship. I don't have any clue what is and is not appropriate. Do we have to... to sleep together now or is it acceptable to wait? Do we get married soon or?" He rambled on, his brows pulling together the longer he spoke of things he didn't quite understand yet.

Kinsley let out a choked laugh. She really wasn’t trying to laugh at Castiel, but his innocence and ignorance towards the whole situation was a little comical. At times, Kinsley was so in awe at how much wisdom Castiel held with in himself, yet, his lack of common sense was something to take a small giggle at. She shook her head as she suppressed her laughter, reaching out to gently grab his knee.

“No, Cas. We don’t have to do any of that any time soon. Just…” She paused for a moment, her lips pursing as she dove deeper in thought, struggling to find the right words. “Just be with me. Just do as you wish. We don’t have to make everything so complicated.”

Castiel hesitated, listening to Kinsley's words as he nodded just as she finished. He rolled onto his side and reached forward and pulled her closer, reaching up to run a hand through her hair. "It's not complicated to us. We can... do what we feel is right and that's all that matters," he whispered, hesitating just a moment longer as he leaned forward to press a kiss to her forehead.

"Regardless of what others may think in regards to us being complicated, as long as things make sense for us, I don't think it really matters what others think." Castiel shrugged his shoulders, thinking nothing more about it. He didn't think it was that big of a deal, it wasn't to him any way.

Kinsley felt so at ease in the angel’s arms. It was something she had wondered about for so very long, now that it was happening, it was almost surreal. For the next few minutes she laid there, content with everything. And then the sinking feeling returned. What were her brothers going to say? How pissed was Dean going to be when he found out. Kinsley let out a small huff, turning herself around in Castiel’s arms so that she was facing him.

“Are you going to be willing to face the wrath of my brothers?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Castiel frowned slightly when Kinsley huffed but figured if there something that she wanted to say or to talk about, she would feel free to do so. Or at least he hoped because Cas liked to think Kinsley knew that he wouldn't judge her. He had seen and done pretty much everything that could be done, there was nothing that could really be said to shock him any more.

"I have faced wraths of far worse danger," Castiel replied simply, shrugging his shoulders as he looked down to her. He raised an eyebrow, tilting his head to the side. "Why? Should I be worried? Will they not approve?"

Kinsley shrugged her shoulders at the angel, looking down and away from him. She didn’t want to cause any type of rift between the mean, but Kinsley knew the key to relationships (especially in this kind of life) was honesty. “Dean doesn’t want me distracting you. He kinda told me to keep my feelings for you a secret, but I just can’t do that any longer.”

With a small smile, Kinsley looked at Castiel. She reached her hand up and ran it through his unruly brown hair. “I don’t think I would be a distraction. We’ve done pretty well on previous hunts together, haven’t we?”

Castiel wasn't sure what the feeling that sparked at Kinsley's words were, he wasn't entirely sure where it came from, but he didn't find himself caring enough to consider exactly what it could be. Kinsley's hands were distracting him enough for him to not consider Dean's opinion on his budding relationship.

"I think so," Cas murmured, reaching up to brush a stray strand of hair behind her ear. He smirked a bit, though his eyes showed just how unsure of he was with his next words. "Fuck Dean. If that's how he wants to think."

Kinsley laughed loudly as she heard the curse fall from Castiel’s lips. He was so innocent and so pure, the foul word almost sounded like a foreign language coming out of his mouth. She watched as he brows furrowed in confusion at her laughter, but she only shook her head.

Kinsley leaned forward and placed a tender kiss to Castiel’s lips, her hand still running though his hair. “Alright Cas. Just don’t let me get you in trouble, okay? We still gotta be smart about everything.”

Castiel gave a roll of his eyes as he looked down to her. He leaned forward, brushing his lips against hers briefly before he pulled away from her. "Of course, it would be foolish to let anything happen just because we are... we are together."

"Should we tell them when they get here or should we wait... for a better time?" Castiel asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked down to her. He would leave the decision up to her since they were her brothers, he didn't want to make the situation any worse than it already was. Whatever Kinsley wanted, Castiel would be okay with.

Kinsley listened to Castiel intently. How would she break the news to her brothers? She knew better than to keep it a secret. Dean and Sam would find out sooner rather than later. Kinsley knew that if she wasn’t the person to tell them, there would be hell to pay. And even more hell to pay if she waited longer to tell them.

“I’ll tell them when they get here,” She spoke quietly. “Not any good at hiding shit from those two anyways.”

Castiel couldn't help but let out a small laugh, that sounded a lot more like a scoff than anything, as he ruffled Kinsley's hair. "That sounds like the better option to me."

He sat up, bringing Kinsley with him. "Are you hungry? We've been here for awhile so maybe we should get you something to eat?" He asked, his face scrunching a bit as his eyes narrowed. "I think... I think I'm hungry?" It was a foreign feeling to him, something he had never experienced before so he couldn't be entirely sure.

Kinsley smiled at Cas and pulled herself from the bed. “I ordered you pizza last time. Wanna try Chinese?” She asked as she made her way over to the phone. She looked around the area for the phone book and finally found it.

After she had ordered their food, she sat back down on the bed. Kinsley pulled out her phone and sent a quick text to her brothers, trying to figure out what time they would be there. In all reality, she was just trying to find out how much time she had to spare to prepare them for the wrath of her brothers.
