When We Were Young

Claire heard him and laughed, "If I know the information, what does it matter what I do during the class?" She asked him shrugging. "I dunno I just find it kind of stupid that you get in trouble for knowing the information." She smiled and nodded. "I am, but also nervous." She sighed and heard him and smiled at him, "Thank you." She told him waving as he left to his locker. Once the day was over she went with her team onto the soccer field. She grinned at her girls as they did their normal routine of warm ups that consisted of dances. Her face turned a little concerned seeing the other team. She saw their captain and sighed as the girls looked at her knowing she was now one of their captains. She was the main captain since the other captain was hurt. She went over to shake hands and felt the girl stare at her meanly. "Let's have a solid clean match girls." The referee commanded before blowing the whistle. And the game was off. Claire did her best to help score as many times as possible. When halftime hit they were even and one of their girls had gotten injured. She frowned at the girl who did it and made sure she was going to beat this team. At the end she got the winning shot from halfway across the field. She cheered when she saw that they had won. She grinned happily. She saw Ryan and smiled waving and then saw Drew and bit her lip frowning a bit.

Jake laughed hearing her, "Of course." He told her smiling. "You can turn whatever you want on, I literally was just playing a game on my phone." He told her. "I don't really understand the show to be honest." He laughed and listened to her question pondering. "I mean I won't turn down a kiss but it's pretty much stopped hurting." He told her. "Yeah, no the guy hit like a pussy. Granted, I probably hit a lot harder and faster than your average street boy. Boxing season is almost back." He said happily and grinned.

Ryan waved back at Claire. He walked down off the bleachers and waited for her, watching as Drew stopped walking when he seen Claire was with him. Ryan looked over at his friend, “I will catch you later man.” He said, watching as his friend walked off. He turned his attention to Claire, “Well that was interesting. You did great. I think…I don’t know much about soccer.” He said, laughing. Ryan walked with her, “I do know that you looked good playing.” He said, smirking. He glared at Drew that was staring at them. “Does he always watch you?” He asked.

Santana watched him, “Why do you like to hit people?” She asked, laughing. She listened to him talk for a moment then leaned over and kissed him. She moved over his body, deepening the kiss when she felt him kiss back. He really was a great kisser and she was getting pulled into his trap that Julie kept bringing up. Santana didn’t see it as a trap though. He was great and treated her well.

Claire smiled gently wincing at her knees a little. The defensive player had a wicked fucking kick. She smiled before laughing. "Thanks. I made the last score, So I'm happy." She told him. She laughing hearing him, "You only like it becuase of the booty shorts. " She told him before looked over and sighed nodding. "Pretty much." She murmured grabbing onto his arm gently when Drew started walking over towards her. He glared at Ryan. "What the fuck are you doing Williams?" He asked before noticing that they were touching. "Hey man get the fuck off of my girl!" He said. "I'm not your girl." Claire said watching him wearily. "Yeah you are. What are you doing with this loser?" He asked shoving Ryan. Claire stepped in between him and said, "Stop Drew!" She frowned her brow furrowing. He rolled his eyes and shoved Claire to the side which caused her to fall on her back knocking the breath out of her.

Jake laughed shrugging. "I dunno. I'm angry a lot. It helps." He said honestly. Feeling her lips on his, he kissed her back putting his hands her waist as he did so. He pulled her onto his lap as he kissed her bringing one hand to her face gently pushing her hair back so he could hold her cheek lightly. He bit her lip gently as if asking for entrance and picking her up gently in his arms, pulling her to him tightly with his arms underneath her legs. He carried her to his room nad murmured, "Don't worry, i'm not going to try anything. It's just so mom doesn't wake up and scream." He returned to kissing her gently.

Ryan frowned as Drew came up to him, “Please like she would ever hang out with a dick like you.” He said, glaring at the guy. His eyes grew dark when he seen Drew shove Claire. Something snapped inside of Ryan and he took ahold of Drew, lifting him off the ground and slamming him on the top of a car near by. “You don’t fucking touch her again.” He growled as he began to punch Drew repeatedly. Drew was able to get in a few hits, but Ryan didn’t let up. Ryan felt himself get pulled off of him. “Don’t be a fucking pussy!” He snapped at Drew who was backing up and spitting blood. “You’re fucking crazy.” Drew said before he turned and jogged off. Ryan pulled away from the person who pulled him off, “Get off me!” He snapped. He looked over, seeing Claire, his eyes softened. “Are you okay?” He asked. He glared at Drew from across the parking lot.

Santana kissed him, then was surprised when he picked her up and took her to her room. She laughed softly at his words, “Okay.” She said, pulling him down over her again. She kissed him again, her fingers running down his back. Santana pulled away from him and kissed along his neck. She began to pull his shirt up as she went back to kissing him.

Claire winced at her legs seeing that they were bleeding from the concrete. She looked up seeing him lift Drew off the ground and start hitting him. She wanted to get up and ask him to stop, but knew that Drew got what he deserved especially since he had shoved her down let alone he had stalked her basically. She looked up at him and saw his eyes soften and nodded gently. "My knees are a little bruised and beat up but that's it." She murmured. They were all staring at Claire and then she softened and said, "Thank you." She hugged him gently hoping to help him calm down noticing him trembling whenever he looked at Drew and murmured, "He isn't worth it." She looked up at him before pulling away. "Come on. I'll clean up your face at my house." She said as she saw some blood on his face. She saw that his knuckles were hurt as well.

Jake laughed hearing her and set her down on hte bed before climbing over her and letting his hands fall on either side of her face as he kissed her deeply and felt her kissing along his neck. He helped her pull his shirt off and met her lips again. Depsite all the tattoos you could still make out a few scars on his body from previous fights. He turned them over to where she on top so he could lay down as well. He laughed mumbling against her lips, "Julie's gonna be pissed." He said it in a singsong voice.

Ryan felt her arms go around him and he put his arm around her. “Alright let’s go.” He said. Once they got back to the house he walked inside with her. He stopped her when she went to help him. “Take care of her legs first.” He said. “I’m fine.” He said, grabbing a paper towel and cleaned the blood off of himself. Ryan looked at her, “Are you sure you are okay?” He asked. He couldn’t stand the thought of Drew being near her. “I will finish him off later.” He muttered to himself.

Santana laughed softly at his words and sat up on him, “Julie is out hooking up with that guy your dad hates. So I don’t think she is going to care.” She said, smiling. She leaned down kissing him again. She placed her hands on his sides then kissed his shoulder, seeing the scar there. She ran her fingers over it and looked down at him. “Are you always getting into trouble?” She teased him. She kissed him again and pulled away, teasing him.

Claire nodded hearing him. She let him inside and told him to let himself in. She looked at his face about to wipe off the blood. She sighed hearing him stubbornly say to take care of her legs first. She got a few bandaids and put them on her legs cleaning up the blood beforehand before getting him to sit down at her table and getting her medkit. She wiped off his face gently with a wettened paper towel and watched his face gently. "I'm fine, Ryan." She told him before getting some hydrogen peroxide and spraying it on his face using her hand to block his eyes from getting the anti bacterial in them. She then wiped it off again and sighed as his face. She said, "I'm used to getting my knees hurt from soccer." She then took his hands sitting down beside him and cleaning them up as well. She frowned and murmured, "I can't believe he shoved you." She sighed. "What's wrong with him?" She looked angry for once. She heard a squeal and was suddenly attacked in hugs and laughed feeling her little brother jumping on her. "Did we win!?" He asked smiling as his sister before seeing the visitor and his eyes widening and hugged her tightly. "We won, love." She told him smiling softly at her brother. "This is my friend Ryan." She told him letting him sit on her lap gently as he looked at Ryan and smiled at him, his front tooth missing.

Jake shook his head and said, "Ick. Don't tell me." He laughed. "I'm sure she'll care later." He murmured kissing her back passionately. He felt her kiss his shoulder and looked up at her running a hand through her hair gently. "Pretty much. I stay in trouble." He replied kissing her back before making a sound when she pulled away and laughed. "That's so mean." He told her touching her lip gently with his thumb. "You know I'm not good right?" He asked her gently. "I don't want to screw you up." He said his eyes a little sad.

Ryan shook his head, “Well he’s an idiot because he just made an enemy.” He muttered. He pulled away and smiled as her brother climbed into her lap. “Hey bud.” He said. He looked over as her mom walked in. He could tell by the look on her face that he wasn’t who she wanted to see sitting at the table with her daughter. He looked at Claire, “I should really get going.” He said, giving her a small smile. “Thanks for everything.” He said as he grabbed his jacket. “It was nice meeting you.” He said to her mom and brother before he headed towards the front door.

Santana stared at him, “What do you mean?” She asked, “How are you going to screw me up?” She asked him as she watched him. She didn’t like the idea of him feeling like he was going to hurt her. “So far you are doing okay.” She said as she ran her fingers over his chest. She was happy with her decision to talk to him.

Claire sighed and murmured, "I guess. I dunno. I just wanted him to leave me alone and it feels like now he won't." She frowned before seeing him pull away. She smiled as he did happy he was being sweet to her brother. She looked at her mom and said, "Hey mom." She saw the look on her face and sighed. She nodded hearing him. She set her brother Casey down before walking him out to his bike. "I'm sorry. My mom is.." She sighed shrugging. "She doesn't allow me to date. Or even like the fact that I do soccer." She told him. She then kissed his cheek softly before smiling at him. "Thanks for coming to my game." She waved telling him bye as she watched him leave. She headed back up just to get yelled at by her mom. She told her what had happened and said he had just been helping her. Her mom threw something across the room and Claire held onto Casey tightly shielding him from their mother.

Jake sighed and said, "I dunno. I feel like anyone who hangs out with me long enough just kind of gets bitter." He told her. He laughed hearing her and said, "Ill take it then." He stroked her hair gently and murmured, "What time is it anyways?" He laughed and kissed her head before popping his neck and then smirking and starting to tickle her grinning.

Ryan nodded, “It’s alright.” He said as he felt her kiss her cheek. “I will talk to you tomorrow.” He said as he got on his bike. He headed to his house and walked inside. He sighed as he looked around, seeing his mom passed out on the couch. He walked up to his room and laid back on his bed, putting his headphone in.

Santana looked at her phone, “Like one thirty.” She said. She laughed as he started to tickle her. She grabbed his hands, “Jake please stop.” She said, laughing. She leaned in and kissed him again. She smiled against his lip and pulled away. “I’m glad I decided to take a chance with you.” She whispered. She placed her hand on his good cheek and kissed him again.

Claire sighed when her mother finally locked herself in her room and hugged her brother tightly. She then got him cleaned up and fed and then into bed and told him a bedtime story before going into her room. She sat on the floor and pulled her knees to her chest tightly and hugged them to her and then grabbed her phone and texted Ryan. Hi She hoped he responded. She didn't want to be alone right now especially since her mom had practically just destroyed their living room. She just got so mad and Claire got so scared. She felt herself trembling and wiped a tear away.

Jake laughed and said, "That's not too late." He felt her grab his hands and muttered, "Ugh. Fine. I'll do it later." He laughed kissing her back lifting up her hand in his. He heard her and grinned, "Why did you anyway, not that i'm complaining." He laughed and kissed her back getting kind of tired since he had gotten into a fight today and basically had run around the whole day just doing random shit.

Ryan looked at his phone when he felt it go off. He was surprised to see Claire's name on his phone. Hey. What's up? He sent the message and closed his eyes, holding his phone in his hands. He was pretty hopeful for his relationship with Claire.

Santana smiled, "I just like that i can be myself around you." She said. She held his hands, "Also, you are really nice to me" She said as she kissed his cheek.

Claire saw his text back and sent, Just sitting in my room. You? And do you ever feel like running away? She didn't know why she was confiding in him. She just felt so lonely at the moment. She grabbed a pillow and pulled it to her chest as she looked down at her phone waiting for a response. She sniffed lightly, trying to keep it down so her mother wouldn't come in her room and see she was texting him.

Jake laughed hearing her, "I wouldn't want you to be anyone else." He teased before gently holding her hands in his own. "I dunno why." He told her. "I just feel like I should be," He told her lightly and smiled kissing her forehead lightly.

Ryan read her text and smiled to himself, Im just listening to music. Of course i do. Why you need a ride? He texted her, teasing her with his last part. He would runaway with her if he had the chance though.

Santana smiled as he kissed her forehead, "We should do something together tomorrow." She said. It would be their last day before they went back to school. "If you want to." she said as she watched him.

Claire put her own earbuds in and listened to her music trying to stifle out her thoughts. She saw his text and smiled softly and laughed wiping her tears away trying to find a way to make them stop. A ride would be nice, but not tonight. If I misspell anything, I'm sorry. I'm crying. Why do you think of running away? She sent before pulling a blanket over herself tightly.

Jake smiled and heard her and laughed, "What do you have planned?" He asked his eyes softening when he looked at her. He popped his neck gently. He then pulled her to him and rested his head ontop of hers.

Ryan looked at his text and frowned a bit. Why are you crying? Whats wrong? He sighed as he thought about his mom downstairs, I dont really have mich in this town to keep me here He sighed as he stared at the ceiling.

Claire saw his text and sniffled, My mom. She.. well. She got mad and started to throw stuff like she always does when she gets mad. I don't either, it's okay. She texted him back and wiped away her tears before taking off her makeup and then going back to her place in her corner holding onto her phone tightly as she sobbed.

Jake smiled and said, "We could get your tattoo?" He offered. "I'm still undecided on another one." He laughed shrugging and started to get tired just having her pressed to him and relaxed against her.

Ryan frowned at her text, Are you sure that you are okay? He sat up, really worried about her. He kmew what it was like to have a parent that wasnt the best.

Santana looked at him, "Yes, that would be amazing." she said as she relaxed. She closed her eyes, "Thats what we are going to do." she said, smiling.

Claire looked at his text and sent No. I can't leave Casey though. And I'm in her custody because dad left when mom was pregnant. She didn't throw anything at me this time. She pulled her blanket close and eventually sat crawled to her bed and laid there curled up and waited for his text.

Jake smiled and said, "Alright." He chuckled. "I'll have to pick out a tattoo then. But for now i'm tired." He laughed and pulled his blanket over them which smelled like him and fell asleep with her in his arms.

Santana got comfortable and closed her eyes falling asleep on Jake. She woke up the next morning when she heard a knock on his bedroom door. She looked over at him and shook him. "Get up." She muttered.
