Shaun made his way to the couch, he sat down. Tonight had felt odd, he wash a swirl of thoughts and feelings.

Shaun stammered lightly, "ah, no probably not," he said softly. He looked up, sad to see her out of the sexy dress she'd been in.

Veronica has changed into her pajamas and was sitting next to him “why not?”

Shaun looked at her, then looked back at the ground. He so much wanted to tell her the truth, that he loved her, but he didn't want to lose their friendship. "She wasn't interesting, she was so shallow," he commented softly.

Veronica shook her head, “I mean so? You could just hook up with her, and then move on.. that sounds awful. Forget I said that.”

Shaun blushed deeply, "It wouldn't feel right," he said softly. He looked down, "I love someone else," he whispered under his breath.

Veronica’s eyes widen and she felt kind of nauseous at the thought, not sure why. “Who is it? Oh my god we’ve been friends this long and you didn’t tell me you liked anyone!”

Shaun looked at her, how could she not know. It was like a punch in the gut. He moved over to her, "who do you think it is," he asked gently, as he moved to wrap his arms around her.

Veronica’s eyes widen, “wait are you serious?” How could she not realize this until now. “Why?”

Shaun pulled her close, "you've always been here for me," he said lightly. "I was you that would always bail me out, after I did something silly," he said.

Veronica looked st him “you’re my best friend I’d do anything for you.” She told him. Not sure how to feel about this

Shaun looked at her, "I know, and the same with me, but ever since we left, I'm beginning to realise how much you mean to me," he said.

Veronica stared at him, “I thought I’ve always meant something to you.. was this not always true?”

Shaun looked at her, "You did, silly, I've only just realised that I love you," he said softly.

Veronica just stared at him, “oh,” she really didn’t know what to say, this was a weird situation to be in. He was her best friend and he loved her?

Shaun moved closer to her, "It's okay, If you just want to be friends, I'd hate to ruin that," he said softly.

Veronica sighed softly, “it’s just this is different now..”it was she couldn’t look at him the same, not that she didn’t still love him and stopped caring about him. She really did, Veronica just didn’t know how to react. “I’m sorry, I just I don’t know what to say,” she held his hand. “We’ll always be friends though.”

Shaun nodded softly, "I know, I'm sorry," he said softly. He took her hands in his, "I'll see you in the morning," he said softly. He smiled weakly, "we should probably sleep," he said.

Veronica nodded “yeah I’m tired,” she yawned standing up before giving him a hug, it felt different but she didn’t mentioned it to him.
