Jorel sighed. “So I guess I have no chance at getting you back then?” He said and looked at her. “That’s fine...I would like to see my daughter regularly though if that’s okay?” He asked. He was hurt but he doubt Sophia cared.

Sophia looked at him, “Would you even want me back if it wasn’t for Emery?” She asked, she was hung up on Jorel her entire pregnancy and even after she met Trevor. “You’re more than welcome to see Emery when’re you like...” Sophia told him, she wanted nothing more than to have her family together, but she couldn’t just leave Trevor with no certainty on things with Jorel.

“I know was an asshole back then but we were together for eight years, Soph. I’m always going to love you, and I would take you back even if you didn’t have Emery. You’re always going to be my girl.” Jorel said. He sighed in relief when she said he could see Emery whenever. “Thank you.”

Sophia didn't even know what to say to him, "It's no problem, she's going to want to see you a lot more now." She smiled slightly, "Those were a pretty good eight years though."

Jorel smiled whenever she said their years together were good. “Yeah, they were. We were really showed it to everyone who said we wouldn’t last past high school.” He said.

Smiling, Sophia nodded, “We did, we made it six years past high school...” It had always bothered her that no one thought they’d make it, and it broke her heart that much more when they did break up.

Jorel smiled, “you were my longest relationship ever.” He said. He wouldn’t admit it but he cried the day they broke up, he’d never tell Sophia though.

“What about now? Any relationships lately?” Sophia asked, feeling a bit bad that she hadn’t asked sooner. Of course Jorel had other things going on in his life. “And of course you know, you’re still my longest relationship too,” She told him.

Jorel laughed, “nah, believe it or not, being in a famous band doesn’t always mean the ladies are going to want you.” He said. “I haven’t been with anyone since we split.”

Sophia was surprised, it seemed strange that Jorel hadn’t been with anyone since they broke up. “I’m sorry Jay, but I’m sure that’ll change for you soon...” she didn’t like the idea of Jorel being single for so long, but she didn’t know how she’d react to him being with someone else.

“Maybe, I’m ready to settle down now, all the guys are engaged or married now, can you believe Jordon got married before me? George is engaged and getting married in a few months. Danny got married before any of us, and Dylan has actually stayed with his girl for quite a long time.” Jorel explained, “I’m the only one who doesn’t have someone but it’s fine..” he said. He knew he was lying to himself, he could have someone but he didn’t want anyone but Sophia. He wouldn’t tell her that though, she was happily engaged and even though it hurt him, he wanted her to be happy.

“Wow, that’s a lot to take in,” Sophia laughed, running a hand through her hair. “Trevor and I were supposed to get married this month, but after a few issues, we decided it’d be a better idea to go with a longer engagement...” she told him. It was true, at first everything was great, but after being engaged for three months they’d started to but heads over just about everything.

Jorel nodded, “that’s cool, I guess. My sister was engaged for three years before they tied the knot.” He said as he watched her. “Damn...I’m mad at myself for not sticking around..”

Sophia nodded, “Its best, never know when something can happen and change everything...” She raised an eyebrow at his comment, “Why’s that?” She asked.

Jorel looked at her, “if I had, maybe we’d be the ones getting engaged.” He said as he looked at her. “I know I sound salty and maybe I am but I’m hurt, okay?” He admitted.

“Why? Jay, I waited for you for so long....” Sophia said softly, leaning against the wall. She sighed, “I was hoping we’d get back in contact, That’s why I didn’t change my number or anything....”

“I know and I’m sorry but after we got into that fight and words were said, I didn’t know if you would ever want to see me again..” Jorel admitted.

Sophia looked at him, “It was a week after that fight when I found out I was pregnant...” she sighed softly, “I drove to your place and sat out front for an hour, trying to decide if you would want anything to do with either of us....” She was beginning to realize that until she figured things out with Jorel, she wasn’t going to be able to marry Trevor.

“Why didn’t you come up? We could have talked it out and yeah I would have been surprised but I would have pulled my shit together and made it work.” Jorel said.

Sophia shrugged, “I couldn’t bring myself to get out of my car.” She looked back at him, “I do wonder what would’ve happened if I had told you when I found out.”
