Casey pulled the covers up over her, and lay there staring at the ceiling. She didn't know how long she lay there, but it took a while for sleep to find her, and once she did her dreams were erratic, causing her to toss and turn as she slept.

Jonathan went to sleep, pulling his coat up over him on the couch. He woke midway through the night, and decided to do a perimeter check.

Casey heard some bustling aaround, her eyes opening slightly, watching him as he headed towards the door. She took in a deep breath, letting her eyes flutter closed again. "Be careful" she said softly, her voice crackling as she pulled the blanket tighter around her.

Jonathan nodded, "will do," he said softly. He made his way out of the cabin, and checked around the fence. He was glad to find there was nothing to worry about.

Casey lay in bed, staring at the ceiling as she waited to hear Jonathan come back, the knot in her stomach tightening with every minute that passed. She began to aimlessly plait a section of her red hair, trying to distract herself from the worry.

Jonathan found his way back to the cabin, feeling more relaxed knowing the perimeter was clear. He smiled lightly and set his gun down by the table, before making his way to the couch again. "You still up?" he whispered.

Casey glanced over toward him "mmhmm" she said softly, with a little nod. "everything clear out there?" She asked gently, her voice crackling. She turned over on to her stomach to face him, clutching the pillow to her chest.

Jonthan sighed softly, "yeah it's all clear out there," he said softly. He sat down on the couch, and looked over at her, "what's up? can't sleep?" he asked her.

Cseys eyes followed him as he sat, gently nibbling on her lip. "I was drifting off.. I got worried when you left though" she told him softly, trying to find his eyes in the darkness.

Jonathan nodded lightly, "ah sorry, thought I should check things out," he said softly. He looked across towards her on the bed, "Try get back to sleep," he said.

"that's okay" Casey told him softly, nodding at him as she lay back down on the bed. "Goodnight" she quipped softly, forcing her eyes to shut as she lay there.

A few seconds passed before she opened them again. "Jonathan?.... Do you want to lay down over here?" She asked softly.

Jonathan smiled softly, laying back onto the couch. "Night," he called. He paused for a moment when he heard her ask if he wanted to lay on the bed, "Only, if you are okay with that Casey," he told her lightly. He wasn't sure but felt like she'd been wanting some space.

Casey nodded in to the darkness "it's fine" she said softly, pushing intowards the wall to make room for him as she let her eyes close again. She felt a little safer knowing he was there next to her.

Jonathan sighed gently, "okay," he said lightly. He stood up and made his way to the bed, climbing into it. He lay down, looking up at the roof, "Night Casey," he said softly. He cuddled up with her.

"Night J" Casey answered softly, staring at the wall ahead of her for awhile before drifting off to sleep. She woke up hearing the birds singing a few hours later, the sunlight pouring in the windows on top of them.

Jonathan was still laid out on the edge of the bed, asleep. He was clearly pretty exhausted from all the work he'd done on the fence and things over the last few days. He needed a break.

Casey looked at Jonathan, carefully climbing around him in the bed careful not to wake him. She began getting dressed and poured herself a small glass of water. So he looked out the window and sighed softly, putting the gun into her belt and pulling on one of her uncle's baseball caps.

Jonathan remained undisturbed, he curled up on the bed. He mumbled softly, as he slept. He rolled onto his back, lost in a dream.

Casey took one last glance back at him before she left out the door, careful to be quiet as she pulled it shut behind her. She picked up the rucksack she had left just outside the ddoor yesterday evening and headed for the town. She tried to stay as vigilant as possible of what was going on around her as she walked, but she was finding it difficult as the morning dew had made her normal walkway slippy.

Jonathan remained sleeping for another hour. He woke quietly, and looked around the cabin. He grew panicked when he didn't see her. He got up and headed out of the cabin checking around it for her. He sighed when he couldn't find her, where had she gone? and would she come back?
