All I Need Is Time. [closed]

Caroline shrank back against the wall, immediately regretting having come in all guns blazing. She jumped as he slammed his fist down next to her head, closing her eyes to avoid looking at him, breathing deeply to try and keep the fearful tears at bay. Summoning up all of the courage in her little body, Cali opened her eyes and looked directly at Danny. "step back" she whispered, her voice barely audible behind his shouts. "I said, STEP BACK" she snapped, taking a step out from the wall, forcing him to do the same unless she were to be standing on his toes. Tilting her head up, she looked directly into his eyes, her finger gently tapping his chest as she spoke. "Mr.Jackson, you know well that I do not have time for rapists. My personal beliefs on their reform or punishment do not come in to this matter today. A matter where you decided to take the law in to your own hands yet again, causing near fatal injuries to a fellow inmate" her voice was low, but her anger shone through as she lectured him. "Danny, I thought better of you. I thought you were smarter than this. The longer you allow your sentence to be extended, that's simply the more time it takes until you might get to take a girl like me to Mackie's" she sighed, glancing down at the floor. "I want to see you in Group therapy, everyday at 4pm starting today. we will have no further private sessions until I believe you see some wrongdoing in your actions" she snapped, stopping to allow that sink in before moving to leave.

She was in no way excusing the horrible crimes that the other inmate had commited, but she was a strong believer that justice should not be taken in to the hands of the people, and it upset her to see Daniel get punished for being an idiot.

Danny looked at her, surprised when she snapped at him like that. He wasn't use to it. He stepped back as her finger came in contact with his skin. Danny frowned when she brought up him taking her to Mackie's. Had she actually wanted to go with him? He rolled his eyes when she mentioned group therapy, looking down at her. They were so close her could feel her breath on his chest. He watched as she went to leave, stopping her. He got close to her, "You really think putting me around a bunch of people is a good idea?" He asked. He let his eyes move over her body, "Yell at me like that again and I might just not be able to keep my hands off you Caroline." He whispered to her. He pulled away from her and stepped back, letting her leave. He would never feel bad for hurting that guy, though he was going to miss being alone with her.

Cali shook her head as he tried to get out of group therapy, she scoffed at him and looked down to the ground. "You don't show up, and I'll have you put in psych. People don't leave psych Mr.Jackson, prove to me you don't belong there". A shiver ran down her spine as he looked her over and whispered into her ear. She made her exit quick as soon as he let go of her, and stood watching him in the cell as the door closed. "$pm Mr.Jackson, don't be late" she called out as she turned on her heels and strutted back down the hallway, ignoring the jeers from the other cells as she passed.

Shewas worried that she had been allowing herself to give Danny the benefit of the doubt too many times. She had only met him twice and already he had let her down in that same number of times. Perhaps she truly needed tostop following her gut and just treat these men like the horrific Criminals they are.

When she threatened him with psych he felt himself get really mad He was glad she left when she did. He glared at her as the door closed then watched as she walked away. When 4pm rolled around he dreaded it. He sat down, not saying a word. He didn't look at her and he certainly didn't great her. He looked at his hands and couldn't stop thinking about he felt betrayed by her. She had threatened him with power like everyone else in the jail. He had thought she was different and cared about him as a person. No, he was just her pay check. He glared at the floor as he tried to stay calm when he heard her voice. His hands were shaking with anger.

By 4pm, Caroline found herself imminently stressed. She had spent the remainder of her afternoon filling out paperwork for Danny and convincing the warden to keep him out of the hole so he could attend his counselling. All she needed from him was to at least pretend he could see some wrong in almost killing somebody through beating them. Her day had been long, and she was yet to issue Paul with his psych evaluation. "Good afternoon everybody, how are we all doing?" she asked with a sigh as she took her seat at the head of the circle.

"So what is the topic of conversation today?" she asked, looking all around the circle, staying silent until somebody suggested something. She could tell by the looks on their faces that 90% of the men in the room felt it wasfutile being here, the other 10% appeared to just want to gawp at her body. "Daniel, how about you, tell everyone about your morning" She could see that Danny was clearly angry, and she really needed to see if he could overcome it. She needed him to overcome it, she didn't want to have to stop seeing him, she really felt they could make some break through if she could just figure out his brain.

Danny stared at his hands, thinking about what she said. Her saying she would put him in psych just kept replaying in his mind on a loop. He looked up at her, his eyes cold. "Me? I spent my morning being fucked over by the only person I decided to trust in ten fucking years. How about you Ms. Sinclaire?" He asked. "Any of these other guys getting fucked over if they don't please you?" He asked. He had a nice side, but right now his defensive dark side was out to play.

"Dr.Sinclaire" she corrected him, crossing her legs over on another chewing on the end of her pen as she waited for the room to settle before continuing. "Do elaborate on how you have been fucked over Daniel, how does it make you feel? Because from my point of view, you are lucky that the warden didn't simply send you to the hole to rot this morning. Gentleman, how many of you would prefer to be here than the hole?" she asked, cocking her head to the side and narrowing her eyes at Danny. She was aware that she was bordering on being unprofessional, but he was truly getting under her skin. She may have threatened the psych, but the officers of the prison had much worse plans for him. She didn't like ow he tried to undermine her, where had her protective and funny patient from yesterday gone?

"I wouldn't mind getting fucked over by you Doctor" Paul piped up, looking around at the other men as they jeered. Caroline chose to ignore it, and kept her gaze fixed on Danny.

Danny glared at her when she called him Daniel. He wanted to walk out of there in that moment. When Paul spoke he smirked, "Sorry man she's busy right now." He said, staring at her. He frowned as the guard said something, "Hey how about you shut the fuck up before i ram that nightstick up your fucking ass!" Danny snapped at him. The guard swallowed hard at the threat. The guard looked at the doctor, "Let me take this dick head out of here." He said. Danny went to get up, "what the fuck did you just say?" He said as he got to his feet. "My hands may be cuffed but i can still kick your ass." He threatened. He looked at Caroline, "Don't ever let me see you again." He said as the guard pulled him away. When he got back to his cell he headbutted the guard, smirking as he was shoved into his cell, hearing the guy cussing.

Caroline sighed, running her fingers through her hair. This was all her own fault and she really wasn't sure how to go about fixing it. She finished out the session, getting out of there as quickly as she could. She needed to meet with the warden and fight out what was going on.

"Ms.Sinclaire, take a seat" he said, before she had even gotten a chance to knock. She timidly entered and sat down across the desk from him. "Caroline, I hired you under the hopes that perhaps a feminine touch could help these men to soften and actually make a breakthrough. In the past two weeks, nothing other than chaos has ensued, consider this your first and final warning. If you can not get my inmates in check, I will see to it that you do not work withing this prison district again" he scolded, looking at her over her glasses. She simply nodded and stood up returning to her office. All she wanted to do was admit defeat and cry, but she knew she could be stronger than that. she lay all of her notes out infront her, vowing that she would not leave this office until she had gotten to the bottom of Daniel Jackson.

The following morning, Cali awoke to a knocking sound. She looked up to see a guard standing at the door of her office. "I noticed the light on Miss, everything okay?" he asked her. her face flushed red with embarrassment. She had stayed working so late she fell asleep at her desk.

Danny sat in his cell staring at the wall in front of him. He felt bad for saying what he did to Caroline. He knew he had hurt her feeling and he felt bad for hurting her. He looked over, seeing a family face by his door. He walked over to the door, "Im sorry I hurt you." He said as he looked at her. He knew she probably came to tell hin that she never wanted to see him again. "Are you okay?" He asked, seeing that she looked exhausted.

Caroline crossed her arms across her chest, taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry for threatening you with the psych, but if you didn't come the warden would send you to hole. you probably wouldn't come back for quite some time either" she explained to him gently, leaning against the door as she watched him. She was slightly relieved he hadn't lashed out again, given he had told her he never wanted to see her again. "Yeah I'm fine, yesterday was just a really long day, Danny you mind if i ask you some questions?" she asked him, resting her head against the cool metal of the cell.

Danny watched her, "You can ask me questions of you want." He said. Danny leaned against the door. He watched her and smiled. He was glad she wasn't mad at him.

"Danny, do you ever find it hard to tell how other people are feeling towards you?" she asked gently, her phone in her hand to record his answers. She looked up at him as he answered and gave a reassuring smile. "And do you ever have difficulty in knowing how you should react to certain situations?" she continued, everything making more and more sense in her head.

Danny was surprised when she mentioned all these things. He nodded, "Yes." He answered. When she kept talking he watched her, his eyes moving over her features. "You trying to say something is wrong with me?" He asked her quietly. Danny bit his bottom lip lightly, not sure if he wanted to hear what she had to say about him. "Caroline." He said, getting her attention from her staring down at the papers in her hand.

Caroline shook her head gently "Look, I'm going to go talk the warden in to letting me have a private session with you, okay? I'd prefer to talk properly, face to face." she explained, looking up at him through the bars. "Just hang tight and I'll see you shortly, okay?". With that, she turned on her heels heading back towards the wardens office. He refused to allow Jackson to come to her office, insisting that he must remain in SHU. Instead Caroline managed to talk him around to allowing her to visit him in his cell.

Danny sighed as he sat in his cell. He wondered what she could possibly need to tell him. It had to not be good. He looked over as the door opened and she walked in. Of course he wasn't going to be aloud out. He got to his feet, looking at her. "I like how they are all about safety, but they are willing to let you come in here alone." He said, rolling his eyes. He sat down on the bed and looked at the wall in front of him. If you could even call it a bed. He looked over at her, "So what do you need to tell me?" He asked.

Cali was going to let him know that there was a guard just outside the door if anything were to happen, but she knew that was often a trigger of his. She took a seat on the chair in the corner of the room looking up at him, nervously biting her lower lip as she tried to think of the best way to phrase it to him. "Danny... After our number of sessions, your files and just witnessing your general behaviour throughout the prison... well, I believe you may be exhibiting signs of sociopathy" she informed him gently, looking him directly in the eye, nervous of how he may respond.

"You also display minor characteristics of Schizophrenia, but I don't want you to worry. We are going to place you on some medication that will balance everything out, and I'm going to be working alongside your defense attorney to see how this may effect your sentencing when it comes to parole" she explained gently, trying to maintain a smooth and calm demeanor in both her voice and body language to also keep him calm.

Danny stared at her for a moment, before looking away. He didn't want to think of himself like that. When she mentioned medication he shook his head, "No." He said. He looked at her, "I'm not taking anything." He said. He didn't want to be medicated and he wouldn't even if she felt like she was going to force him. He stared at her, trying to read her body language. He tapped his fingers on thigh as he tried to think of what to say to her. "Can you just.." He got to his feet. "Go." He said, pointing at the door. He didn't like feeling like the weaker person in the room.

Cali frowned as he said he would not take medication,and shifted in her seat. She knew if he didn't, his condition could not be used as factor in reducing his sentence due to his lack of will to change. She felt disappointed as he asked her to leave, she really would prefer to talk to him about it. She stood up, sighing and gently wiping the dust off her skirt. she turned toward the door to leave, but changed her mind and turned toward him before taking a seat next to him on the bed.

"Danny, I realise it is a lot to process. I'm here if you have any questions, and I really want to stress to you that there is absolutely no shame in taking medication." She looked up at him trying to catch his eye, giving him the most sincere smile she could. "I can promise you, that the meds really do help sometimes"

Danny frowned as she sat next to him on the bed. He looked at her, "You don't realize this." He said, "Do you have this problem? No. So don't act like you know." He said. He shook his head, "I'm fine. I have lived my whole life like this and i'm just fine." He said, looking at the wall in front of him. Danny frowned when she mentioned the meds again. He turned towards her, backing her up against the wall against the side of the bed. "Don't make me empty promises." He said, his eyes moving over her body. "Did meds fix you?" He asked, moving her hair away from her face. "When that guy took advantage of you?" He asked so only she could hear. He could tell she was scared because she was shaking. "Looks to me like you aren't completely better because right now in the back of your mind you think i'm going to hurt you like he did." He said as he slapped his hand onto her thigh. "Don't you?" He asked, loosening his grip on her thigh, though his hand remained there. He looked into her eyes, "You can't fix me, but if you think me taking those meds will get me out of this shit hole then I can fake it for a few weeks. Can you?" He asked.
