All I Need Is Time. [closed]

Cali's whole body shook as he cornered her up against the wall, shrinking back in to herself. Her mouth moved to try and conjure up words,but no sound came out, just nervous whimpers. She was frozen in place, hardly able to move. Feeling his hand on her thigh, all she could think about was that night. she closed her eyes tightly, trying to will the image out of her mind, hoping that Danny was not about to do the same to her all over again. Her words simply would not work, she couldn't even muster up a single shriek to get the guards attention.

"D-d-danny p-please let g-go" she whispered, her words barely audible. She had so much she wanted to say to him, but the terror she felt stopped her from doing so.

Danny moved his hand away slowly, "Calm down. I would never do that to you." He told her. He pulled away, "I'm sorry." He apologized. He never apologized to people. He felt bad for scaring her though. He moved over so she had some room. He didn't know that he would scare her that much. He knew that he had enough information now to know that she was not over what happened to her. He looked at her, taking her hand and pulling her away from the wall. He let go of her hand then looked at the floor as he waited for her to compose her self so she could speak. He looked at her, not knowing why he had done that to her. He cared about her and yet he had upset her for no reason, but his own personal gain.

It took Caroline a minute to compose herself fully but once she had she quickly moved away from him back over to the other side of the room. She cleared her throat and began to straighten out her clothes, looking over her shoulder at him, her eyes narrowing slightly. "Why would you do that, if you would never hurt me? You don't know what I've been through and what has or hasn't helped me, yet you choose to ignore my advice. Seemingly all you care about is ensuring that you hold all the power Danny. Keep going, and see how far it will get you." she told him, her voice low and very serious in tone. She knocked on the door to let the guard know that she wanted to be let out, hurrying to her office to take a few moments to get herself back under control.

Danny frowned at her response, "Caroline." He said, frowning as she shut the door. He groaned as he laid back on the bed. He knew he had pissed her off and he had over stepped, but for some reason he didn't feel bad about it. He knew there was something wrong with him and he had always assumed there was. Now that she had said it he knew it wasn't all in his head. Danny woke up the next morning and stared at the ceiling. The silence in the little cell was deafening. He sat up and looked around the room, thinking about what he did to her. She would never trust him again.

Caroline went home that night and cried herself to sleep. She wondered if perhaps the Warden was right, and she wasn't right for the job. She promised herself one more week, and if she still felt the same she would resign. She had a pain in her stomach at the thought of having to deal with several of the inmates today, Danny especially. He continually managed to gain her trust, and only ever managed to upset her. She sighed as she sat at her desk, trying to plan-out her day.

she had worn a much more modest outfit than usual, with yesterday's events she didn't want any other inmates getting the wrong idea- They may not stop.

Danny sat in his room and knew that Caroline would want to see him soon. He wasn't surprised when she had asked to meet with him in a secure room. He walked in, sitting away from her. He looked at her, knowing she was scared of him. He watched at her, "Are you still upset with me?" He asked her. He didn't like her being upset. "Yesterday," He paused when he watched the anger come to her eyes. "You mentioned that you may be able to help with getting me out of here." He added. He just wanted to leave and go back to his life. "What do you need me to do?" He asked her.

Caroline felt a little better knowing he would be cuffed and chained when she met him today, ensuring she sat a good distance across the desk from him she began to lay out her things, staying silent. "I need you to take the pills, I need you to see me twice daily so I can track your progress, and I'll need you to make another statement in full regarding the murders. "You're appeal is in 6 months time, so hopefully with all going to plan we can get you moved to a halfway house, and have you free within 9" she stated flatly, keeping her eyes trained on her paper, refusing to look at him.

Danny looked at her, "I already gave my statement." He said. He sighed, "I will try but if the pills make me feel like shit I am not taking them anymore." He said. Danny watched her, "I'm really sorry about what I said." He told her. Danny felt horrible for hurting her feelings.

Caroline shook her head. "An honest statement. Pleading guilty." she told him, gathering up her papers again. "I don't want to hear it Danny" she snapped, finally looking up in to his eyes. "You terrified me yesterday, for no reason other than to show me how much stronger than me you were. Congratulations, It worked. But at the end of the day, I'm not the one who killed two people. I allowed my issues to be dealt with" she told him─ her voice flat and void of emotion. She didn't care to be any more than his therapist. He had truly let her down, and for some reason it felt like a low blow. "I'm going to helpyou get out of her, because that's my job, that's what I've trained to do.. beyond that I don't want my name to grace your mind".

Danny frowned when she mentioned pleading guilty. He sighed, "Look I can't do that. If I do then they will put me away for life." He said. Danny was hurt by her words, "I said I was sorry." He said. He actually liked her and now she was shoving him away. "I shouldn't have done that to you." He said.

Cali shook her head "You've already been found guilty by the courts, you can't be tried for the same crime twice" she told him "You're attorney can explain it better, but it is to make you appear remorseful, we'll play on the Sociopathy, you couldn't tell how much of a threat the men actually were, fight or flight, all that stuff" she explained with a shrug, knowing he would do what he wanted anyway. "No, you really shouldn't have. Danny, I followed my instincts with you, I told you personal details because for some reason my brain switched off an allowed me to trust you, I thought that's what you wanted, I thought that I could help you if i could establish a trust between us, but all you did was use my weaknesses against me. I can't allow myself to treat you that way anymore. I'm sorry" she took a deep breath and turned away from him... why did it feel so hard to tell him these things?

Danny sighed as she explained everything. He watched as she turned away from him, "You don't mean those things because if you did you would be able to tell them to my face. He may have been bad at showing emotions, but he could tell when others were hiding their's. Danny looked at his hands, "At least don't lie to me." He said.

"You scare me Danny. Among the actual rapists, the paedophiles the necrophiliacs and the arsenists, you scare me" she admitted, picking up her bag to leave. "I'll see you back here in 5 hours" she added before leaving the room and heading towards her group therapy appointment. She had much preferred when Danny was protective over her, while inappropriate, she had always felt very flattered. No man had ever felt so passionate about looking out for her before and it had felt refreshing- until he purposefully sent her reeling back to one of the worst nights of her life.

Danny frowned as she left. He sighed as he was led out by the guards. He sat in his room and decided to do what she wanted. He sat down and wrote out his confession and described the murders in great detail. He looked at the paper then waited for the guards to come get him again. When Caroline joined him he slid the paper towards her. When she reached for it he pulled it back, "Don't read this." He said.

Caroline frowned as she tried to take the paper from him. "Why not?" she asked him softly, knowing that legally she really was supposed to read it. She explained to him how his pills would come with his breakfast each morning and that a guard would check to make sure he had swallowed them before he would be allowed to eat. She was finding it hard to concentrate on the meeting with him, tripping over her words as she spoke. she figured it was simply just a mixture of tiredness and stress clouding her thoughts. she hoped that tonight she might finally get a full night of sleep.

Danny shook his head, "You won't look at me the same if you read this." He said. Danny sighed when she explained his medicine. He didn't like the idea of being under the influence of the medicine. He watched as she took the paper from him.

Cali nodded and slipped it among her notes on Danny. she rubbed her temples gently as she looked across the table at him, sighing loudly. "Why did you do that to me yesterday?" she asked him, her eyes falling to the ground. It was beyond her capabilities of reason to try and figure out why a guy who had protected her so closely one day, was slapping her thigh and holding her against a wall the next.

Danny frowned, "I was just testing your limits. i didn't know it would hurt you so badly. I wouldn't have done it if I knew that would happen." He said. "I shouldn't have touched you without your permission." He explained. Danny looked at her, "I hope you'll still let me take you to eat when I am out." He said.

"Why did you feel a need to test my limits Danny, do you enjoy testing people?" she asked, her head pounding as she questioned him. A very slight smile tugged at her lips as he once again mentioned taking her out to eat. That was the cheeky Danny Jackson that had won her over to help him. She wanted to give him a friendly reply, but something inside of her screamed to stay firm, not to give up the game. Play hard to get if it were.

Danny shrugged, "I mean I guess." He replied. "I just like to know what people's limits are." He said. He was glad thar he got to see her smile. Danny smiled, "You avoided my question. Shouldn't i be the one doing that?" He asked.
