All I Need Is Time. [closed]

"I guess one burger won't hurt" she sighed,shooting him a quick smile as she said it. Glancing at her watch, she begun to gather her things. Her headache was showing no signs of clearing, and if anything it was getting worse. "Same time tomorrow?"

Danny nodded, "Alright." He agreed. He watched as she left then let the guards lead him out. He laid down on his bed in his cell and closed his eyes falling asleep. He woke up the next morning and got ready for the day. He walked to the room where he was suppose to meet Caroline. He sat down and waited for her.

The following morning, Caroline still felt like shit. She contemplated calling in sick, but felt bad leaving everybody down. Without even bothering to apply make-up, she got ready for worked and lugged herself in to the prison. She sat down at her desk with the cup of coffee she had picked up on her way here and sighed, realising she was supposed to cross all the way in to the B building to meet with Danny. Groaning, she gathered her things and made her way there, already 15b minutes late.

"Morning, I'm sorry to keep you waiting" she mumbled taking a seat across the wide desk from him and looking up. "You take your meds this morning?"

Danny was surprised at how bad Caroline looked. He nodded when she mentioned the meds. "I mean I don't really have a choice." He said. He watched her, "Are you okay?" He asked her. "You look like you don't feel well." He said. "We don't have to meet today if you don't want to." He explained

"Good, and how do you feel after taking them?" Cali asked him, pulling her hair back out of her face and tying it in to a loose bun on her head. "Yeah I'm fine, don't worry about me just a little under the weather"she dismissed, shaking her head softly as he suggested they not have their meeting. "No no, I just need my painkillers to kick in and I'll be fine, thanks though" she commented, gently rubbing the back of her neck to try and relieve some tension. "I haven't been sleeping too well, how about you, have you been sleeping okay?"

Danny shrugged, "I mean I feel the same." He said, shrugging. Danny rubbed the back of his neck, "I have been sleeping as well as I can. I mean the bed sucks." He said, chuckling. Danny watched her, "Why are you having trouble sleeping?" He asked.

Caroline laughed softly as he joked about the bed "I've just been trying to keep on top of all of the work from here" she said softly before finishing off the rest of the session.

weeks passed and it was drawing nearer and nearer to Danny's court date. Over the weeks they had grown more comfortable with one another, and he seemed to be doing well with controlling his anger. the day came that he was going to be seen in court, and Caroline waited in the chambers for him to arrive to catch u with him on his testimony and how he was feeling beforehand.

Danny walked with on of the guards to meet with Caroline. He wouldn't say the medicine was working because he didn't feel like himself. Danny looked at Caroline, "Ready to get this over with?" He asked. He knew he was. He walked into the court room when it was their turn. He stood there listening to the judge speak. He frownwd as he read his confession and he knew all the details would not be something Caroline needed to hear. He looked at his hands then looked at the judge when the man asked Caroline about Danny and his progress.

Caroline had made sure to dress for the occasion, even wearing her glasses rather than contacts to make herself look a little more distinguished. She felt a slight shiver down her spine, she never had read that letter he gave her, and to hear it being read out loud had unnerved her a little. She cleared her throat as the judge addressed her and stood up to anser. "Your honour, Mr.Jackson has greatly improved since the beginning of my employment at the prison. Following his diagnosis, I placed him on 200mg of kintenzonol 400mg of Torak and 100mg of Reriton, each of these doses has been halved in the last 6 weeks and no negative behaviour has arisen from it. He has worked hard to learn why what he did is wrong, and has seen the error of his ways" she told the judge, her voice loud and full of clarity. She nodded to the judge before returning to her seat and offering a smile in Danny's direction.

Danny sighed as he watched her wall back to her seat. He was glad that she was able to speak about him in a good light. Danny looked up as the judge went to speak.

"Well, Daniel as much as I hate to put a scumbag like you back on the streets i am going to have to sentence you to two years probation and you will continue to meet with Dr. Sinclaire until she says other wise. If i see you here again I will make sure you spend the rest of your life in jail." He said

Danny was glad when he heard what the judge said. He wanted to be out of the jail.

Cali felt a weight lift off her shoulders as Danny was sentenced two years of probation, she had succeeded to get at least one inmate back out and in to rehabilitation, she just hoped she wouldn't regret it. She headed in to the back room to meet with Danny before he was taken to his halfway house.

Danny walked to the room, smirking a little when he seen her, "Well that went better than expected." He said. He was glad that things were going well. Danny let the guard uncuff him and he felt good as he rubbed his wrist. They were marked up from being cuffed for so long. He looked at Caroline, "When do I need to meet with you?" He asked.

"I think we're going to start with three times a week, how does that sound to you?" Cali suggested, ripping a piece of paper out of her notepad and beginning to write on it. she handed it to him, on it scrolled -Cali Sinclair 7714817739- "They'll probably give you a burner cell at the halfway house for when you're applying for jobs and things, so you can call me to arrange our meetings. Of course I'll still be working in the prison, So I was thinking we could maybe meet Monday, wednesday and friday evenings?" she said to him, rooting in her purse for anything else she may need to pass on to him before they parted ways for the time being. "How long has it been since you were out?"

Danny took the piece of paper from her and nodded, "Yea I can do that." He said. When she asked how long it had been since he was out. "About 4 years." He said. He was glad he was able to leave the place. "Once I get settled I will give you a call alright?" He told her.

Cali smiled, she was glad he was getting his freedom, and since it had only been 4 years, she hoped he wouldn't have too many problems with re-integration. "I'm really happy for you Danny, I'll see you during the week" she told him happily and gave his shoulder a reassuring squeeze as she left the room. She wondered if she should perhaps have arranged a specific time to meet himnext, but she wanted to give him the freedom to contact her himself. She had felt like she had grown to really like him over their months of working together. When his emotions were balanced he could be a really nice guy, and he had always looked out for her over the other inmates.

Danny gave her a small smile before she left then gathered his things. He felt relief as he stepped outside. It had been so long since he had smelled fresh air.

A few days later once he was settled in he sat on his bed and called Caroline. He wished he had his own place but for the next four months the halfway house would be his home. Danny listened to the phone ring. He smiled when he answered, "Hey it's Danny." He said. He liked hearing her voice.

"Hey Danny, how have you been since you got out, still behaving?" Caroline asked, only half joking as she teased him. She was nervous that if anything were to happen because of of him, it would be on her mind. "You're all settled in I'm guessing, you ready to meet up? I could meet you at 5 when I'm home from work?" she suggested, smiling as she spoke to him. She had been beginning to worry that he wouldn't get in touch with her, and had been planning to swing by the house he had been stationed at to see if everything was alright this evening

Danny smiled, "Yea people haven't annoyed me that badly yet." He joked. He knew to him it was a joke, but he could tell she was not amused, "Sorry." He said. He thought for a moment, "We can meet then." He said. He thought for a moment, "Can we meet somewhere other than here?" He asked. He didn't like the place. He didnt have to be in the house til 11 at night so he could get away for awhile.

Cali frowned slightly, as he joked about people annoying him. She cleared her throat loudly to passively express her disdain, nodding as he apologised. "Yeah sure, where were you thinking?" she asked kindly, writing it in to her diary as she spoke to ensure she would not forget if the day got busy. She gave a soft laugh as he suggested Mackie's "sure, I guess I did promise you" she teased. She found herself actually looking forward to meet with him, it felt strange in work not having her daily meeting with him, she kept expecting to walk in to her office and find him sitting there, or be called to his cell for a write up. She was beginning to realise that maybe she had developed a soft spot for him, ge was her first real success after all.

Danny smiled, "Alright I will meet you there." He said. When it was time to meet with her he got dressed then headed to Mackie's. He wore a white tshirt and jeans with his leather jackets. It felt good to not be in a jump suit. He walked into the restuarant, getting a table for them. He ordered himself a water then relaxed. When Caroline showed up he stood up to greet her. "Hey." He said, smiling. He sat with her then watched her. "How was your day?" He asked.
