Just Promise Me You’ll Stay?

Lexia smiled at Zacky and watched him take Leon out of his car seat and carried up to her apartment and into Leon's room. Leon woke up slightly, wrapping his arms around Zacky's neck as he looked at him sleepily. "A-are you staying for movie night Uncle Zee?" Leon asked as he was being tucked into his bed. He smiled when Zacky nodded. "I love you, Uncle Zee." He said.

Lexia was in the kitchen eating an apple as a light snack so she wouldn't be spoil her appetite for when her and Leon have their movie night. She looked up to see Zacky coming back into the kitchen. "He go down okay?" She asked Zacky, knowing that sometimes her son can be a handful when it comes to naps.

Brian pulled up to the driveway to Lyla's house. "Looks like we're at your place." He said as put his truck in park and unlocking the doors. Brian got out of the driver's side of the truck and then moved over to Lyla's side and helped her down, since his truck sits up high. He then draped an arm around Lyla's waist and lead her to the front door of her home. "So tonight was a good night, if I say so myself."

Lyla was slightly disappointed when they reached her house so quickly. She was just starting to enjoy Brian’s company. As they walked to her door, she glanced over at him, “I’d have to say the same, it was a very good night.” Lyla smiled over at him once they reached her door, “Hopefully we’ll do this again sometime soon?” She suggested.

Zacky couldn’t help the smile that crossed his lips when he heard Leon say he loved him, “I love you too little man, so very much.” He ruffles his hair softly and walked out. “He went down fine, just tucked him in and he was out in a few minutes,” he smiled over at her.

Lexia smiled, "I'm starting to think that Leon likes you better than me." She joked, but then smiled and reached out to touch his arm. "You have been so helpful to us, I mean you've been there since I was pregnant with Leon. I honestly don't know where I'll be without your help." Lexia remembered how Zacky took the role of being there for her when he found out that she was pregnant. He was even there for the delivery, in fact Zacky helped in the delivery since the Leon's father is out of the picture due to him being killed in an motor accident, but the father didn't like the fact that Lexia was pregnant with his child.

Brian smiled and nodded, "Of course we will. I have your number and you have mine. We can definitely set something up, because I would love to see you again." He said as he brushed some of her hair out her face, before leaning in to kiss her cheek. "Are you doing anything next weekend?" He asked with a hopeful look.

Lyla took a minute to think about the next weekend, she was sure her mom wouldn’t mind watching Kira for her. “I don’t think I’m going to be doing anything,” she told him, smiling slightly.

Zacky shook his head, “No, he just thinks Uncle Zee is cooler than you.” He teased, laughing softly. He smiled over at her, “Honestly Lexia, it’s not a problem. I love helping with him.” It was true, Leon had caused a big change in Zacky’s life and he loved the little boy that much more for it.

Lexia smiled softly and kissed Zacky's cheek. "You are so sweet. I'm super lucky to have you in my life." She said and then held his hands in hers, "I often wonder what it would be like if you were Leon's biological father and what would our relationship to each other would be like." She said softly.

Brian smirked, "Great, then let's go out. Just you and me. I have a few places in mind that we can possibly go to." He said and then leaned in to kiss her cheek. "We'll talk more in details about our future date, but for now it's getting late. Sweet dreams, Lyla."

Lyla smiled, looking up at him, excited to be going out on a date with Brian. “I can’t wait to get the details,” she laughed softly. Brushing her hair off her shoulder, “I’m sure whatever we do is going to be great.”

Zacky was slightly surprised to hear Lexia’s words, he looked at her, “You think about that?” He wasn’t sure what to say about it, “I don’t know, what do you think it would be like?” Zacky asked, looking at her again.

Lexia nodded, "I do. I think that your love for Leon would still be the same and everything you do for us will not change, but I think you would be a great dad and that we would be happy with each other as a family. I can see you just bragging to your friends about Leon and how proud of him you are to be his dad and proud that I'm the mother and girlfriend." She admitted, looking away. She was scared to tell him all this, but it was the truth. She had always liked Zacky, but every time she wanted to tell her feelings for him, he was always dating someone and then she kept her feelings to herself. Lexia also felt bad that his past girlfriends didn't last because he would frequently come over and check on her and Leon, in which the girlfriends hated.

Brian smiled, he couldn't wait to go out with Lyla next week. He didn't want to wait, but he had too. "It's definitely going to be great. I'll definitely call you or text you to see what you like and don't like so I can plan accordingly." He said and then looked at the time. It was getting super late and although he knew he could spend all night talking to her, he knew that she needed to get some rest. "I guess I should go, but you will be hearing from me later on in the day for sure." He said and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Have a good night and sweet dreams." Brian smiled and then walked back to his truck before pulling out of her driveway and headed back to his house.

“I’ll be waiting,” Lyla smiled. “I can’t wait to hear from you,” Lyla blushed lightly when he kissed her cheek. “Have a good night, drive safe,” She watched as he walked back to his truck and drove off. Lyla walked into the house, locking the door behind her.

Zacky couldn’t help smiling as he listened to Lexia. He knew it was all true, hell, even though Leon wasn’t his, Zacky still bragged about him like he was his son. Zacky looked at her, “Lexia, I’ve always thought about that.” He hesitated before continuing, “And I’ve always wondered what our relationship would end up like. I think we should try this and see where it goes.”

He looked down at her, “We’re already basically a family, I love Leon like he’s mine and you know that. I’ve loved you for as long as I can remember and I want to try us.”

Lexia smiled, she was surprised but very happy to know that Zacky felt the same as her. "We can try us. I want this more than anything." She said as she draped her arms around his neck as she looked down at his lips, wanting Zacky to kiss her. "I have also thought about letting you adopt Leon, so that you would be legally his father." She ssid, looking into his eyes to see his reaction.

Brian arrived to his house 20 minutes later. He kicked off his shoes and went to his fridge to grab a bottle of beer, carrying it into his room. He changed out of his clothes, only to be wearing a pair of pajamas pants, and climbed into the bed and turned on the TV. He was channel searching until he found something he wanted to watch. Brian grabbed his cell phone, wanting to call Lyla just to hear her voice, but it was late so he texted her instead. Hey darling, I made it home safe. I'll call you sometime tomorrow so I can hear your pretty voice. Have a good night, sweet dreams.

Lyla went and took a quick shower, she got out and dried off. Wrapping the towel around her as she walked to her bedroom. Hearing her phone go off, she read the text and smiled. Glad to hear it. I can’t wait to talk to you tomorrow, good night. Lyla put her phone on the table and put her pajamas on and crawled into bed.

Zacky wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. He leaned in and kissed her softly for a moment. He pulled away slightly, “I’d love to adopt Leon one day. Nothing would make me happier than to have him as my own son, officially.”

Lexia eye's fluttered closed when Zacky leaned in to kiss her. Although it was short, the kiss was sweet and perfect. "You were his dad since day one. You were there for everything from his birth to his first word, to his first steps, and hopefully more." She said and cupped his cheeks. "I couldn't ask for a better man to be in Leon's life."

The next day Brian was out with Matt. He was helping him move the rest of his stuff into his new house. But now they were both out and about, wanting to go out for lunch. Brian had spent the day texting Lyla, getting to know her and figuring out ideas for their date on Saturday.

Lyla had gotten up early to pick Kira up from her mom’s house. She had told her mom about Brian, leaving out the fact that she had met him at the bar. She decided to take Kira to the park. Lyla was smiling as she was texting Brian.

Zacky looked at her, smiling. He loved Lexia and Leon more than he could express. “I’ll always be here for both of you,” he told her, holding her close. He had always loved her and he was glad that he could finally tell her.

Lexia smiled and rest her head against his chest, while Zacky was holding her. She inhaled his colonge, sighing at the familiar scent. "Leon is going to be excited when he finds out we're together." She said smiling up at Zacky, happy at the fact that her and Zacky we're dating.

Brian smiled at one of the text messages that Lyla's sent him, quickly sending a text back to her. I wish you were free to come join me and Matt for lunch.. He sent the text message to her before putting his phone away. He looked at Matt, rolling his eyes at his friend's comment about being "pussy whipped."

Me too, that sounds nice. Lyla slipped her phone into her pocket before going and pushing Kira on the swing. She felt a little guilty, thinking she should have been straight forward with Brian. Lyla would feel bad if Brian found out about Kira and decide he didn’t want to be involved.

Zacky smiled, holding her close, “I know, hell im probably excited enough for all of us.” He laughed, thinking about Leon’s face when they would tell him they were together.

Lexia smiled and kissed him, "Well now that we have something to celebrate about, I'm thinking Chinese takeout for dinner instead of me cooking." She said and walked to the kitchen to find the menu to that she keeps. Grabbing it and taking her phone out, she walked back to Zacky, "Anything you want?" She asked him and handed the menu.

"So did you get any ass last night?" Matt asked Brian in which he respond with an eye roll. "No I didn't. There's something about Lyla that makes me want to stick around and do things properly." He said as they walked past a park. "Speaking of Lyla, isnt that her? You didn't tell me she had a kid" Matt pointed out in her direction. Brian looked over and sure enough, Lyla was pushing a little girl on the swings. "I didn't know she had a kid either...Maybe it's her niece or something."

Lyla smiled as she pushed Kira on the swing, laughing as the little girl grinned from ear to ear. “Higher mama, higher!” Kira squealed causing Lyla to shake her head, “This is high enough, any higher and you might fall off.” She couldn’t help laughing as the little girl pouted.

Zacky looked over the menu, “I’ll take the orange chicken, and a few of the crab wontons.” He smiled, glad that the two were finally together and that he’d be able to step up for Leon and really act like his dad. Zacky would love to adopt Leon one day when the time was right.

Lexia nodded and put in the delivery order. After she got off the phone she sat down on the couch, with Zacky sitting next to her. She turned on the TV for background noise before looking at Zacky, who draped her legs across his lap, softly. Lexia brought her hands to cup his cheeks before leaning in to press her lips to his for a kiss. "Leon should be waking up soon," She said in between kisses.

Brian walked over to the woman that looked like Lyla. Once he reached her, he tapped the woman's shoulder, who then turned around and looked at him with wide eyes. "Hey, Lyla. What are you doing here? I thought you were at work. Who is this cutie" he asked her as he saw the little girl looking at him.

Lyla was surprised to feel someone tap her shoulder, she turned and her eyes went wide when she saw Brian. “Hi, I don’t work today,” she said softly. When he asked about Kira, she sighed, “This is my daughter, Kira.” Lyla thought for sure that Brian was going to turn and walk away, and she would never hear from him again.

Zacky smiled as she kissed his lips. “We’ll listen for him,” he said, enjoying the kisses as he ran his hands up and down her legs. He loved having Lexia as his girlfriend already.
