Chasing Fire

Spencer looked at her, "I am good. I have been worried about you, but didn't want to push or pry." Spencer admitted to her. "Other than that, constantly at work with case loads." He admitted to her.

"I remember you being head over heels for a certain blonde. Acting just like him." She swatted his arm lightly smiling. She took and tickled Jack's little belly as the waitress came over. Ordering a milk for their son, and herself a water she took and looked back to her son. She'd missed him terribly along with Aaron.

Kylee couldn’t help smiling when he said he was worried about her. “Oh you wouldn’t have been pushing or prying at all,” she smiled over at him. Hearing him mention work, she nodded, “I’m sure you stay very busy.”

Aaron laughed softly, “That’s true, it is nice to see him do something other than work.” As the waitress came over, he ordered himself a water. He smiled over at Carrie as she looked at their son. “I missed you,” he told her.

"This past few weeks, we sure have." Spencer admitted to her as he smiled at her.

Carrie looked at Aaron smiling, "I missed you, too." She whispered leaning over pecking his lips.

“I don’t know how you do it,” Kylee shook her head, taking a sip of her drink. She looked back at Spencer, smiling softly.

Aaron smiled as Carrie kissed his lips. He was just glad to have her back with him.

"Part of my job description." Spencer chuckled softly. "I wanted to talk to you actually." Spencer admitted looking at her.

Carrie smiled at Aaron holding to his hand as Jack babbled. She giggled at her son and smiled everything felt perfect after everything she'd went through. She wasn't about to tell Aaron she had been held hostage for a few days. Beaten. Raped. She was keeping some things to herself.

“And you are great at your job,” Kylee smiled at him. She raised an eyebrow when he mentioned wanting to talk to her, “About anything in particular?”

Aaron was just enjoying this time with his son and fiancé. He was glad to have Carrie back even though he knew there was something she wasn’t telling him. Aaron wasn’t going to push her, “Any idea what you want to order?”

"Past month we've gotten to know one another. I would like to take you on a real date." Spencer smiled at her.

Carrie looked over at him and shrugged, "I am going for the Cesar salad." She told her fiance. "I think Jack will go for the chicken nuggets." She smiled at Aaron seeing him looking at her curiously. "What?" She asked him.

Hearing Spencer mention a real date, Kylee nodded, “That sounds great. I’d really like that.” She had been drawn to Spencer since they met. At first she thought it was simply because he saved her life, but Kylee soon realized it was more than that.

“I think I’ll have a burger,” Aaron said, seeing as nothing else really caught his attention. He shook his head, “Nothing, just enjoying the fact that I’m actually face to face with you.” He smiled.

Spencer smiled, "Good. Great!" He exclaimed. "What about tomorrow night? I am off tomorrow so I have more time." Spencer smiled.

Carrie looked at him smiling. She kissed him again turning her attention back to Jack. She tickled his stomach and smiled kissing his head.

Kylee was happy to see Spencer so excited about their date, “Tomorrow night would be perfect.”

Aaron watched, smiling as Carrie tickled Jack’s stomach and they smiled at each other. He just wanted to enjoy the little things in life at that moment.

Spencer smiled, "Good, i'll pick you up around seven then. Anything in particular you'd like to eat or whatever?" Spencer smiled.

Carrie saw their food come, as she took and helped Jack eating at her own salad she'd ordered. Picking at it she finished what she could stomach to eat. Watching Jack finish up his food, she smiled wiping his mouth and giving him his sippy of milk. She took and smiled towards Aaron. "How late do you think you'll be tonight?" Carrie asked.

Kylee thought for a moment, “Seven works for me. Nothing in particular, maybe surprise me?” She suggested.

Aaron ate his food once it was at the table. Hearing Carrie’s question, he thought, “It shouldn’t be too late. It seems like it’s been a pretty slow day, so I shouldn’t be any later than six?”

"I can do that." Spencer smiled at her as he took and grinned a little letting his thoughts go through as he thought about the date ahead.

"Good. Jack and I will surprise you." Carrie smiled at her fiance as she took and saw Jack clap his hands with excitment.

“Great,” Kylee said smiling, excited to go on an actual date with Spencer.

Aaron smiled at them, “I can’t wait to see the surprise.” He told them, laughing softly as Jack clapped his hands.

Later into the afternoon Spencer finished the last bit of paper work he had to do. Getting up he headed home for the evening. Stopping by the nursing home, he checked in on his mother like normal.

Carrie watched Jack on the baby camera sleep in his crib. She took and prepared the food for Aaron and smiled glad to be home. Feeling the memories over take her mind. She shook them off sighing to herself.

Kylee was back at her apartment, going through her closet to find something to wear for their date tomorrow. For the first time in a long time, she wasn’t thinking about the attack. Deciding on a black skirt that fell just above her knees and a light purple top, Kylee hung them on her closet door.

Aaron was relieved that nothing had happened the rest of the day. He was beyond ready to get home to Carrie and Jack. Pulling into the driveway, he shut the car off and got out before walking inside, “I’m home.” He called out to Carrie.

Spencer took and picked out a nice button up shirt, and vest to pull over. Getting his khaki pants, he laid his shoes out as well. His mind was on the date with Kylee. He couldn't wait for it. He was beyond excited for it.

Carrie walked out of the kitchen and dinning room and smiled. "Hey." She walked over pecking his lips. "How as work?" She smiled.

Kylee picked out a simple pair of black heels to go with her outfit. She was excited for her date with Spencer. She decided to call it an early night and relax.

Aaron smiled as Carrie walked over to him, “Hi.” He kissed her back, “It was actually a slow day.” He couldn’t help laughing, “It’s not often I get to say that.”

Spencer took and decided on turning in for the night wore out.

As the evening went on, Carrie took and spent time with Aaron and Jack before they all turned in for the night.

The next day couldn’t go by fast enough. Kylee made it through her work day, getting home, she jumped in the shower. After her shower, she got dressed and did her hair and put on a little make up. Checking the time, Kylee smiled seeing it was almost seven and Spencer would be there any minute.

Two days in a row that had been slow, Aaron couldn’t believe that he was actually going to be home on time again. Walking in the door, he smiled at Jack and went over to Carrie. “Why don’t we have a family movie night?” He suggested, wanting them to spend a little time together.
