I am writing The Angel From My Nightmares and originally I thought Jolene would be like me but wierdly I have written some of my personna into Ray which is odd to say the least... lol... as long as he doesn't wind up being all girly... not that I am all the time... only like when I see a spider or something...

I write one-shots that I don't post, and almost all of them have this recurring character, May, who is basically me. Or sometimes, she's the person I would love to be, if I told all and just did what I felt and said what I thought.

I put a lot of myself into Cider from The Glass Depression. The accent, the vulgar language (erm...), view points, his total adoration for Nick (based off a friend of mine)...he's like the boy version of me...he was intended to be a girl in the first place. - shrugs -

I use myself in my stories....for a couple reasons.

-Saves trouble of making up OC's and stuff.
-A lot of my personality traits could be used for good story telling.
-I like to imagine myself in a lot of the situations I write about. I have weird obsessions with stuff, like kidnapping, or handling weapons or fighting...and writing about "myself" doing something along those lines to me is the next best thing if something wouldn't ever happen to me in real life. (that's part of my odd self)

I do make up OC's though.....i'm just not really good at it..

I have noticed re-occuring traits in some of my ideas and characters which are very me-like. I tend to use OC characters a lot, and when I do I usually write in a female perspective as I find it easier. (Don't know why, just do)

But lately i've noticed that all the ideas and OC characters I have been creating have similar things from my own personality..and I guess if you were to blend all my OC characters together, you'd get- Me!

Sam, Erin and parts of Crystal all based on parts of me.
(the other parts of crystal are based on the girl herself.)
I guess it feels good to get every part of me onto paper
but if someone took the character development like its what I'm actually like, they would be very scared or phoning the police.

How You Looked in the Light was very much based on "the situation".

I believe every writer write about him/herself, about what who you wanna be, what you have lost, what you are facing, what you need, what you enjoy
    through characters we build ourselves
all my characters are who I wanna be, who I was, and who I need to find

Your Faith Was Strong is almost autobiographal. That's completely me - especially when the pianist went crazy trying to construct the perfect song. Trying to insert himself into it - like I try to insert myself into my writing.

I think Ryan and Brendon in Snapshot. are a bit reminescent of Liz and myself.
A very strong sort of friendship with such an extreme degree of love and no romance.

Leslie from The World Set On Fire is most like me than any other character I've written. Just the way she always asks questions, the relationship with her brother, how she goes for more simpler things, and just the way she wants to live her life are like me.

    It was more than planned.

Siren Triggered Prayers. The narrator's view on prayer/God are how mine were for about a year. The praying at a siren came from what my childhood friend would do. I wrote it because that summer [that I wrote it] I walked home and heard so many ambulance sirens.

Brown Eyes is exactly a dream I had. I was Brendon. {I'm often male in my dreams, don't ask me why.} So, in a way, it's me in the story.

I'm not in my own story (i only have one atm), and i don't plan to put myself into it at any point either, but alot of situations and thoughts in the story that are told in first person are kinda inspired by my own thoughts and my own life. But it's written from the point of view of a few different characters, so no way would i say that i'm basing any of them on me.

besides... it would be weird to base the character of Gerard way on myself XD

It's not weird if it's subtle.
A lot of my characters problems are metaphors of my own.

I can't stand when someone bases a character on themself.
Everyone has fantasies, but this isn't about those, you know?
I mean I've done it, but it was just that; me writing down a fantasy.
Nothing special, and nothing I'd ever post.

I think the main reason I can't read het is because all I can ever think is "I bet this is the writer, to a tee."
And then there'll be another character, and oh look, it's the writer's best friend.

Little things are okay. I have some weird little quirks, and I like to make each of my characters special and unique, so yeah, sometimes I use them.
Likewise, if I've had feelings before that can relate to the story, then I'll use those.
    But it ends there.

In my story right now, hmm.. it is based on my imaginations but, the part when my mom wants me to come back, that's based on me.
