How Long Have You Been Writing?

About six years. I wrote my first book in fifth grade.

I've been writing for more than a quarter of a century.

Yeah, it sounds like a long time when said that way...

I wrote my first story - other than for a school assignment - when I was 11 years old. I'd just finished reading something by Madeleine L'Engle (I strongly identified with Charles Wallace Murray), and I was inspired, or something. The funny thing is, a few elements from that first story have survived in my current writing.

I've been writting since first grade llike any other kid but I didn't start WRITTING until fith grade that's when I fell in love with writting, when I wrote my first poetry book, it didn't get an A+ but my teacher, mom and my younger self liked it so that was good enough for me.

And when I re-read it now, it's horrible and it is really bad and I laugh at it but that's the beauty of it because I fall in love with writting all over again

It depends on what you mean.
If you mean writing down the stories that I've thought up then I've been writing sice I was 12 (5 years).
If you mean thinking up ideas and stories to tell people and basically writing a book but not actually writing it down, I've been writing since I was a baby (17 years).

I've been writing fan fiction since 15th January 2010. I've improved, considering the fact that I can't stand what I've written only six months ago.

But writing... well I guess since I was ten or so.

I would come up with stories and then my mom would type them when I was like six. If that really counts. If not, then I really started writing stories down myself when I was twelve.

Funny thing before I started writing though I couldn't stand writing at all.

I've been writing since the beginning of middle school so 6th grade. I was 13 but the stories were terrible, I'm not even sure why I subjected myself to writing them. The first time i started showing people the stories was when I joined Mibba in 2007 and by then my writing had improved significantly.

Since I was in fifth grade, so about seven years.
Although, I had no clue what fanfiction even was until four years ago...

I've been writing since first grade. I would have to go to my grandfather's house for an hour before school so I ended up writing a ton of short stories. Ever since then, I've been filling journals with incomplete stories. Whoops.

Since 8th grade, which is 3 years. I've written five pieces of fiction that are at novel length.

For four years - it'll be five sometime in July. I used to hate writing and my spelling - god, I couldn't even spell 'around' properly.

I've written since I was a kid. I have boxes upon boxes of stories that I'd come up with.
I seriously started writing in the summer before eighth grade (I think), which would make that a year ago.

Has it really been sixteen years already?

I've been writing for years, mainly for school purposes though. I've seriously, for me anyway, been writing for about 5 years.

I've been writing for about 11 years. In my school district, in elementary school, you're required to write a book every year, and then of course the writing gets continued and more intense when you get older. I'm going into a career in writing, so I'm glad I've had a lot of experience.

I've been writing four years this fall. Though I've been creating my own stories in my head for ages.

I've always been a very imaginative, in my own world sort of person, so when I was a kid I would think up stories all the time.
I pretty much stayed within the boundaries of my head.
However, I didn't actually start writing 'til I was in 8th grade.

I'd say three years ago is when I actually got more serious about writing. But before that I would live out each of my stories in my imagination so while I never wrote them down, I had a million stories planned out in my head. I was never bored :)
