I really want to do some volunteer work, and I've been looking around and told people I'd be interested, they just need to get back to me. :3

I help out at my local primary school in the special education unit. My mum works there. It's really rewarding the the kids are really sweet (well, most of them).

I don't think I could do volunteer work because you don't get paid for it and I don't mean that to be greedy but America's economy is so sucky I need to do work that pays, I can't just live off my mom.

I can see your point, but being a sixteen year old, I sort of have to still live off my mom because I'm a minor. However, I see volunteering in a different perspective. Next year at this time, I'm hoping to have a steady job (or at least a summer job). I'm in fact hoping to get a job at the place where I'm volunteering. By volunteering, my could-be boss has been able to see my work--she has even said I am a very good and hard worker and that she would help me any way she could with college or a career. Therefore, next summer, I have a great chance of being hired there.

But that's just my experience. Everyone's different. :)

I join a Relay for Life team every year, that's how I volunteer, or I just help people out.

I somehow manage to balance volunteering at our local pound, hospital hanging out with friends, and having an actual job. :weird
    Volunteering makes me feel good.

I was my Religion class's community service corps (CSC) representative this past year. Basically I had to tell the class when I was informed about an upcoming even at our school & show my face enough to make sure people knew I meant it & enjoyed it.
At our school, we would show a movie once a month & have food & the money from the tickets would go to a certain charity, or we would clean the park across the street from school (dangerous druggie park:XD; we did it twice this year & there's another 'cleaning' this August) or go to a shelter & feed the homeless; stuff like that.
I went to as much as I could. I loved it so much.In Love I really hope I can be a rep again this year; if not, I'm going to try & be an officer. You get more responsibility & are informed about other volunteer events.

I am going to start volunteering at UPMC St. Margaret's hospital. I'll be working with physical therapy patients (well, pushing them in wheelchairs). I want to major in PT in college, so it will be good to get the feel of how things work. Plus, I need the hours for National Honors Society. And I get great perks.

I volunteered at something like an Attorney's office - it was partly that, but it was an Advocacy center for people in possibly abusive and dangerous situations.

Honestly, some of it was very boring with the assignments I got - deskwork. But, the other parts were...also not really great, just due to personal experiences with what the place was centered around.

I knew most everything that they would've taught me, walking in there...but, that was over a year ago, and now I have this habit of noticing things with the people I'm around - situations/relationships that people are in that would be considered dangerous and get them services, but it's really not my place to say anything.

Good experience, but not great for my mental-health. =P

I'm a teacher's aide. It's only for one class hour though. Now that I'm in high school, I wanted to become a teacher's aide so that I could go back and work for my teacher's from eigth grade. It's fun.

I'm applying to be a volunteer at a hospital!
    I can't wait.
I'll get a uniform and eveything haha.

I think I'm required to do at least three hours of service every week though.
    Doesn't matter though :)
Once I'm 16 I'm also going to volunteer at an animal shelter.
    One can never help enough

I do volunteer work at a daycare for kids 2-5 years old every week.
I usually hate kids, but some of the kids there are just beautiful. Cute

I volunteer at Rainbows (mini guides!) for 5-7 year old girls, and have done for the past 3 years.
I love them, even though they were hanging onto my legs and crawling through them. It made me fall flat on my face and I wasn't too impressed, haha. But they're sweet. x)

My friend and I volunteer at our local hospital. The uniform is a hot pink smock. lmfao it's kinda hysterical.
The work is pretty cool, sometimes we get to help out the nursery and see all the adorable little babies. Cheese
